13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim isn't an especially easy game to describe, but this new gameplay video from PlayStation Underground does a great job of showing it off. There's over 19 minutes of footage here, covering character interactions as well as combat later on.

If you're looking for a short and sweet version, 13 Sentinels is basically a visual novel. It features 13 playable characters, all of whom play key roles in the overarching story -- and that story is all about protecting mankind from huge monsters with giant robots. When it's time to fight, battles take place on a strategic map, where you pick and choose the actions of your heroic pilots.

As expected of Vanillaware, the game's utterly gorgeous. We're certainly looking forward to trying it out when 13 Sentinels launches next month.
