It looks like PlayStation Access got its knickers in a twist because rather than Crysis Remastered launching today on PlayStation 4, it has actually been handed an official release date. Crytek has revealed that the remaster of the 2007 PC classic will be coming on 18th September 2020 by way of a new trailer that shares just a glimpse of what to expect from this updated version. We've embedded that for your viewing pleasure above.
Ported by Saber Interactive, footage makes quick note of new lighting, updated assets, and ray-traced water reflections. Textures have even boosted up to an 8K resolution while reflections also take advantage of ray tracing. "Crysis Remastered features several enhancements that deliver a major visual upgrade, including high-quality textures up to 8K, HDR support, temporal anti-aliasing, Screen Space Directional Occlusion (SSDO), Global Illumination (SVOGI), state-of-the-art depth fields, new light settings, motion blur, parallax occlusion mapping, Screen Space Reflections and Shadows (SSR & SSS), new and updated particle effects, and more", a press release reads. The ray-tracing capabilities appear to be exclusive to the PS4 Pro. The game will cost £26.99/$29.99 on PS4.

I wonder if it will still looks like the interns did it in their lunch breaks.
Hmm £26.99? Think I'll wait for a sale....
I wonder if this version will include the level that was missing from the Switch, PS3, and 360 versions.
This is what happens when a community does not accept whatever lazy port publishers decide to slap "remaster" on.
People complained, they pushed it back - and it already looks better.
🤔 so the game that pwned all our PC's back in 2007 can do ray-traced water reflections on PS4 Pro?
Getting the popcorn ready for Digital Foundry's and NX Gamer's deep dive into the tech. I can imagine Richard's full-fat description of the "silky smooth 15 FPS cinematic experience."
@Turismo4GT That's why no one takes DF seriously any more for their opinions, only the measurable tech facts. VGTech have been destroying them lately for factual analysis because it's not clouded by garbage opinions.
Id still take 60 fps over ray tracing. A "remaster" of a game that came out 13 years ago still running at 30 fps just doesn't feel right.
Is this still digital only?
@Orpheus79V If it's basically the same game that was developed in tandem with the Switch version I doubt any of the other platforms will get that level
@Orpheus79V The Switch couldn't run the level since it's a joke of a platform, but I imagine at least the base Xbox/PS4 can. Let alone obviously the PC can.
@Menchi Usually I'd defend DF but you're right. Their opinions often are off putting. I categorically disagree with John's opinions of Ghost of Tsushima. But they are just opinions 🤷🏾♂️
@3Above No idea what they said about Ghosts, but at least the technical side of it is on point.
How pathetic that the list of enhancements does not include butter smooth 60fps. However i see stuff i don't want in any game like motion blur if it is camera blur, and depth of field effects.
What is " state of the art depth of field effect"? Sounds like a lot of blurring i don't want. Hopefully someday disabling undesired effects will be standard for games on consoles.
Micro transactions are being saved for the inevitable attempt to get everyone to buy the dlc again.
@Tarvold49 I’d take smooth frames over ray tracing too. Ray tracing next generation is gonna be like native 4K ps4 games this generation - its extra bells and whistles which are great to have but pointless if the game isn’t playable in terms of performance
@NoCode23 that’s because this is a cynical cash grab from a publisher we all know does this sort of thing regularly.
Fire up crisis on the 360 or PC instead and you’ll have a better time and save yourself the cash
Wait, ps4 pro has ray tracing?
@ellsworth004 PS4 Pro Crisis has Ray Tracing!?
It's official, PS4 Pro is more next generation than Xbox Series X LOL
