The playable demo for Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is available now on PlayStation 4. It weighs in at around 8.6GB, and can be found on the PlayStation Store under the game's page. However, it's worth reiterating that only those who have pre-ordered Crash 4 digitally can access the demo, and it's unclear whether the demo will be made available to everyone else at a later date.
If you're still not sold on Crash 4, we actually played through this demo last week. You can read our rather positive impressions through this link.

Cool I'll be giving this a go......... only for preorders, oh well
@carlos82 I would have done the same, daft that they would shut out potential customers!
Seems weird to isolate preorder bonuses and access even more by making them digital only.
@MightyDemon82 its a game I'm interested in but not entirely convinced yet so this could have swung it for me, with a bit of luck they'll open it up given they've gone to the trouble of making it
I have never been tempted by Crash. I might try the demo to see if I change my mind
What's the meaning of DEMO if u have to purchase the product first and then play so called DEMO
@carlos82 same here, fingers crossed your right!
@anon_pel222 it's just dam greed, that is all this is.
I think they've misunderstood the general concept of a demo, there. I'm not the biggest Crash fan so something like this would have been a great way for me to see what I've been missing.
Only available to those who pre-order.. Isn't the point of a demo to find out if you want the game or not? I'm never gonna pre-order a game to play a demo...
Demo for preoders is like a test drive for a car after i bought it
Utterly ridiculous that you have to pre-order a game to try a demo to see if the game really is worth purchasing. The greed and business practices in the gaming industry still continues to surprise me, even though it's more expected than a PS5 price at this stage.
@Steel76 - Gotta get them clicks... 😩
Lol. Activision will be Activision. They did this with Tony Hawk. I mean you'd have thought offering a demo to those who have already made up their minds to play the game was fairly pointless, whereas making it available to the masses who are undecided, but might pick it up if they enjoyed a demo was good business sense. But what do i know 🤷♂️
This and Avengers with the pre-order only demos/betas are really disappointing. I’m not sold on either game and I might be tempted if I could give it a test run. I wonder what the stats are for people who pre-order to get the demo vs people who would play a free demo to later purchase the game. These companies are obviously hedging their bets on the former, but it still doesn’t make sense to me.
I don't like Activision right now... Isn't the purpose of the demo to be available for everyone so people who didn't buy the product can try it and eventually reconsider the decision about the purchase?
@LPB that whole concept of what a demo is all about is completely lost because of it.
Do I need to play the others to get into this
@carlos82 they did the same with Tony Hawk's 1+2. That demo is now nowhere to be seen.
@Loftimus cheapskates
only for preorders so you have to buy the game to try it out (makes sense) if you dont like the demo do you get your money back
They dont sound too confident in their product if only people who already bought it get to try it.
@anon_pel222
My thoughts exactly. Isn't a demo there for a test run to make one decide whether to purchase it?
Sounds like the full game download at that size!
Those who've pre-ordered will then get a 6K unlock key downloaded at a later date? Probably followed by a massive day 1 patch...
Does seem rather silly to not let other people try a level and see if they want to buy it.
I'm not buying this digitally so will be missing out on the "demo".
Besides I want to go in as blind as possible.
So what is the point of this???
A demonstration for someone who already bought the game!!! The stupidest idea ever, they should aim it for those on the fence!
