Social gambling game Poker Club will play a royal flush on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 this year. Purveyors of pretty tabletop titles Ripstone will utilise next-gen technology like ray tracing to bring premium suites and backroom bars to life, as it promises “the most immersive and social poker simulation ever on next-generation and current platforms when it launches later this year”.
“Poker Club is designed as a social experience,” the press release explains. “In line with the increasing online community-led nature of the gaming landscape, Poker Club will connect players with friends and poker fans around the world, featuring tournaments for over 200 players. Players can create or join a club, complete with leaderboards, exclusive tournaments, and daily chip bonuses while working towards shared goals that unlock rewards.”
As you progress you’ll unlock cosmetics, some of which will be club specific. To accentuate the title’s community focused goals, the release will support cross-play across all platforms and generations, so PS5 players will be able to compete against Nintendo Switch owners, and so on. There’ll also be a single player Career mode for you to try out, and a tutorial to get you up to speed.
“On PS5, Poker Club will utilise the advanced haptics in the DualSense controller to immerse players on the poker table like never before,” the press release continues. “The game also offers cross-buy between PS4 and PS5.” This means that if you purchase it on either PlayStation platform, you’ll be able to experience it in full on the other free of charge.

Who the hell would get excited about this.....
If you want to play poker, try Prominence Poker. It's fun, it's free, it's poker, you don't need anything else...
I’ll say what I said on NLife, virtual poker just isn’t as good as real life because it completely removes tells and reading your opponent. That’s the fun part!
I'd much rather play card shark from the indie showcase than this. I'm hilariously intrigued to see what they are doing with the dual sense. Feel that crisp paper as you hold the controller...
I kinda enjoy playing poker
