Everyone's talkin 'bout Bugsnax — and there's a good reason why. Sony has just announced the PlayStation Plus lineup for November, and that includes the very first PS5 game to join the service. Yes, Bugsnax, the loveably obscure game about animals that are also food, will be part of PS Plus on PS5.
This news has been followed by a brand new trailer, which you can watch above. It's probably the clearest trailer yet, giving us a good idea of the story setup, as well as showing what you'll actually be doing on Snaktooth Island. If you didn't know already, it's a game about capturing the titular Bugsnax in order to help the locals, and ultimately track down the explorer who's gone missing.
It's also worth noting that the game will have separate Trophy lists for PS5 and PS4, meaning it's possible to obtain two Bugsnax platinums, which is of course the ultimate achievement. Developer Young Horses is also looking into ways for you to carry over your PS4 save to PS5 — hopefully it can make that work.
We cannot wait to get our hands on this one when it launches alongside PS5. Will you be playing Bugsnax on PS4, or PS5? Tell us in the comments section below.

After the disappointing CP news yesterday, this definitely lifted my spirits!
If I get bugsnack ps5 from psplus, will I get the ps4 version too?
@wiiware Mmm Probably not for sure. Otherwise it’d be free for PS4 in Plus as well.
If i buy ps4 version do i get free ps5 upgrade?
I really don't get the hype for this game, it looks so bland, uninspired and, yes, ugly.
I'm starting to think that growing up on Nintendo machines spoiled me, as it happens quite a lot to see these non-Nintendo cutesy games and find them derivative and unappealing, maybe cause their [edit: Nintendo's] artistic direction tends to be impeccable.
On the other hand, Fall Guys didn't give me the same impression; on the contrary, I really like its artistic direction!
Another example would be Immortals FR: it looks fun, but the art direction is so bland and ugly to me, it doesn't even compare to BOTW.
I don't know, probably that's just me.
@SilenceCZ It seems the game is on psplus collection, which is exclusive to ps5. I don't know if ps5 will be released in my country this year so I though I can play this on ps4 before I get my ps5.
@wiiware Nope, it’s a special 2 months offer for PS5 PS+ subscribers, as was done in the past with other titles like Knowledge is Power, RIGS, and such. It’s not a part of PS Plus Collection seemingly.
I firmly hope that any PS+ member will be able to claim this game through the PS Store via PC or mobile.
It would make sense at least given how things worked till now.
So seeking clarification here.
I know that there have been times that PSVR games have come to PS Plus. I don't have a PSVR but I added them to my library in hopes that I may one day get one.
I assume that this will be the case for Bugsnacks? I will be able to add the PS5 version of the game to my library even though I don't have a PS5? ( didn't get a pre-order in )
@clvr you just don’t get it.
@SilenceCZ One of the great things about psplus on playstation is we can "claim" the games even without the console by website, I remember claiming ps4 games even before I get the console, by the time I get it, I already have a couple of free ps4 games
@kyleforrester87 well, that's pretty much what I admitted to in my comment lol
You're not helping me get it either though 😛
@clvr listen to the song for a few hours and you’ll get it.
@kyleforrester87 welp, doesn't sound like too taxing an endeavor to try and maybe start liking a game I have absolutely no interest in lol
I'll get it, hope its good
@Loftimus Bugnsax has not confirmed a "PS4 to PS5" upgrade, free or paid.
I would recommend asking the developer on Twitter: https://twitter.com/younghorses
@Juvenlast This is correct. You can claim Bugsnax PS5 thru your PC or mobile, despite not owning a PS5.
