You don't know how good it felt to write that headline. After a couple of delays pushed one of 2020's biggest titles back an excruciating few more months, Cyberpunk 2077 has gone gold. That essentially means it will definitely hit its release date of 19th November 2020 as development wraps up on the base game. No more delays folks, woohoo!
CD Projekt Red shared the news on Twitter, where it posted a lovely image of Johnny Silverhand holding up the golden disc itself. Check it out for yourself below.
Of course, the Cyberpunk 2077 story doesn't start and end at launch though. The Polish powerhouse has extensive DLC plans as well as a multiplayer project, but we shouldn't expect to see that for a couple more years. Nevertheless, we have one gigantic RPG to look forward to next month. Now we just have to work out how we'll fit our playtime around this game and all the PlayStation 5 titles launching just before it. Have you got that all worked out? Let us know in the comments below.

WAKE UP GAMERS, WE'VE GOT SOCIAL LIVES TO BURN
YASSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!
Still no word on the PS5 upgrade date ? I'm definitely waiting for the next-gen version.
Hi there fellow gamers. THE HYPE IS REAL.
Even though they said this game will be "shorter" than The Witcher 3, it is still gonna be massive and quite fun fully exploring Night City and the wastelands.
It´s gonna be great. Can´t wait.
Cheers, stay safe out there and happy gaming to us all
Boom!
@Cornaboyzzz Nope, but I wouldn't expect that until next year.
But it isn't 2077 yet
@LiamCroft I could imagine something like 4K or 60fps for day one but a true next gen update (like adding ray tracing) next year at the earliest
@LiamCroft There will be day one patch that will take advantage of frame rates, textures and resolution I believe.
Really looking forward to this and it may end up being the first disc in the ps5 - great few months ahead with this and yakuza - one very happy gamer
@Unffclcntrllerpd It's looking like an epic few months for sure. I don't even know where to start. (Cyberpunk, obviously.)
@DonJorginho Is that confirmed or wishful thinking? Genuine question, I hadn't heard that.
I'm just treating this as one of my PS5 launch games, comes out same day here in the UK. I know it's not a full upgrade, but surely it will run more smoothly, plus hopefully not jet engine noise.
@get2sammyb Mostly wishful thinking, but CDPR have said on multiple occasions recently that Cyberpunk 2077 will take advantage of the Next-Gen Consoles and look and play better as a result from day one.
So I would assume that resolution, framerate and textures would be easy to input in from day one, with RTX, crowd density and other things coming later down the line.
@YurtleTehTurtle Hi there friend. Yes...... 2077. That´s it 😁
Cheers, stay safe and have a good one
Amazing news...so happy....Pre-order it back in August so 1 and a half month until release. Hope I can grab a PS5 also. This would be the perfect setup. :):)
@Cornaboyzzz there is a basic day 1 PS5 patch but full next generation version won’t be put till next year.
Ps5 version or not still look good
@get2sammyb I seem to have remember reading something similar, that it will take advantage in some wa. Perhaps they could just have an unlocked framerate mode for the Pro which the PS5 will "fix"
Despite it coming out on PS5 launch day, this is still the game I'm most looking forward to
Really curious to see how it runs on ps4 and Xbox one...especially on the base units. You have to imagine there's a whole host of sacrifices needed to make it run.
@get2sammyb @DonJorginho from an investor call quoted on Eurogamer earlier this year
"Anyone with a PS4 copy will be able to play that on PS5 and receive a free update to improve the game's visuals on Sony's next-gen machine."
"I can confirm this is not the final update," CD Projekt exec Michał Nowakowski said. "At some point we will have a more robust update for next-gen which we plan to give free of charge to anyone who purchases the PS4 or Xbox One version."
@carlos82 Can't wait! I am more hyped for this than anything else launching with PS5 tbh, it is that big of a game.
@JohnnyShoulder jesus! talk about a fever dream!
But yeah I'm a big cyberpunk genre fan so I have been waiting for a true cyberpunk game since Deus ex in 2016
N.i.c.e.cant wait.might get it on ps4 and play it on ps5 especially the dlc or goty edition.word up son
@DonJorginho same here, can't wait to play this
I've not been this excited since the last bit of Cyberpunk 2077 news.
@mariomaster96 True, I've never seen a game go gold 57 years ahead of release
This one will wait until I can get my hands on a PS5. I've got Age of Calamity pre-ordered for the 20th anyway
@YurtleTehTurtle
46GB ?
80GB install
120 in total ?
Woooooo looking forward so mush to this game the more i see the better it gets and better and better.
All the crunch babies from last week seem to have disappeared all of a sudden
"Definitely Launching Next Month"
even if it kills them.
@Jacko11 We didn't disappear, it's only 9AM or earlier on a Monday morning, we just ain't functioning properly yet. 😁
Holding off buying this until next gen patch is released I think.
Cool, I'm very excited for this.
Should find out tonight if my request for hol starting the 19th has been excepted. Ready to get lost in Night City.
I shall be spending lots of time in this game!
@Shepherd_Tallon yep I’m excited for the run into q1 next year and what games they have planned and announced for next year . Gonna be easy to build a solid looking backlog with some major games and third party titles such as Valhalla which are going to be huge time sinks too - I’m like a kid at Christmas
Holding on this until next year or so (I'm sure it will be a good game, but I also doubt that it will live up to that unhealthy hype it has accumulated over the years)...
Anyhow, Demon's Souls Remake comes first on my list. Souls games always come first...
@Unffclcntrllerpd "like a kid at Christmas"
Why wouldn't you be? There's a lot to be excited about. I'm giddy most of the time when I think about games over the next few months.
Why does the Keanu character model look so off? Even John Wick Hex looks more convincing.
@YurtleTehTurtle hahaha these days I'm more concerned when there isn't one.
Well I am going to be playing spiderman and demon souls first. Once those are done I will get this game. Hoping that the ps5 patch will be done by then but I doubt it.
If I can't finish Spiderman in 7 days I might have to delay it. I will be breaking my own rule (one game at a time for PS5) Then double dip into both each day. That new console resolution didn't last long.
@Jacko11 If its a company people like its ok if its EA or Activision its a crime its great that these things are brought too attention.
@Flaming_Kaiser I am a retired US Postal Service employee. One thing I could count on is mandatory overtime every year! 12 hour days through December every year. Sometimes starting in early November. I did not like it at all, but seeing a child run to the door to get that package Grandma sent made up for it every time it happened! After my first 2 years it was no surprise it was just something we did.
Super excited and day 1. BUT, lets be realistic - this game will be finished in 2023 or so.
I am just willing to play early access.
@AJDarkstar You will have 7 days to play Spiderman PS5 launch is November 12th Cyberpunk 2077 is November 19th.
busy, busy, busy (I'm so glad!)
━━━━。゚+.ヽ(´∀`*)ノ ゚+.゚━━━━!!
I'm sorry, well so much for a world wide release. 😔
This and Demon’s Souls are my end-of-year PS5 games. Very excited to get to play Cyberpunk on a more powerful system from Day 1!
@JohnKarnes Great for you i always believe overtime should be optional. Great that you made a kid smile still overtime should be optional. If my boss asks i will say yes a lot of times but guess what sometimes i have other stuff too do.
C’mon the train, and the ride it
I hope they eventually add 3rd person view outside cars basically gta style i ent a fan of 1st person but il make a one off just for cyberpunk 2077 mean they should have had the two as options
