After originally targetting a release before the end of this year, Square Enix's Outriders will now launch on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on 2nd February 2021. You will be able to upgrade from the PS4 version to the PS5 edition free of charge and full cross-play support ensures you can play with users on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and Google Stadia later on. Check out the trailer above for some cinematic action.
Over on the Square Enix site, community manager Toby Palm said that while the team had been planning on delivering Outriders this year, COVID-19 has had a huge impact on testing. "While the core game is now in a largely complete state, our testing operations were unfortunately among the most affected by the work-process-restructuring caused by the novel coronavirus. To that end, we need a bit more time to get it right and ensure that the Outriders experience will be as smooth and issue-free as it possibly can be when we launch. It is our utmost priority to give you the best and most complete Outriders experience possible, at all costs."
The game can be pre-ordered now on the PlayStation Store for £59.99/$59.99. Has Outriders done enough to secure a purchase from you? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Wouldn’t be a Squeenix game without a delay 😂
seems like a fun game to be honest. i hope it does well.
February is a good time for me and I can see myself picking this up after they said this was not a GaaS, but a more traditional game with a deep story and all content on disc. As long as that ends up being true.
Well, we called this, or rather Steam Store did it.
I gotta tell you, the game is kinda growing on me the more I see. Seems like a take on Division with ME like combat. At least of the 3 new looter/somethings that have dropped (lol) or will drop, (Avengers/Godfall/Outriders) this one is the one that looks more interesting to me.
So it’s rip off R rated Destiny basically
Good, this year is already pretty crowded.
February would be great if they don’t delay again.
At the beginning I wasn’t interested, but I kept following it.
It is similar to the original concept of anthem, but looks actually fleshed out.
And people should really stop with that Destiny rip off craptalk. It’s getting old.
At this moment I am not interested to pre-order Outriders, but who knows, maybe I will change my mind near the release.
