It's not quite Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare, but Red Dead Redemption 2 will be celebrating Halloween through Red Dead Online this year. The 'Halloween Pass' can be purchased for 15 gold bars, and it'll give you access to a bunch of exclusive, reasonably spooky rewards.
The Halloween Pass will be available until the 16th November, so you've got just under a month to get it sorted. Of course, everything that you do manage to unlock will be yours forever.
Have you been playing Red Dead Online? Might you be jumping in for these Halloween treats? Become a horseman of the apocalypse in the comments section below.

I know this has nothing to do with the posted story,but rather than the extra online dlc extras,its a bit of a shame Sony never funded any efforts to get RDR 1/Undead Nightmare ported over. Whilst the rumours it might not have been possible,(ropey coding etc.), I'm sure current gen or next gen owners would've forked out for a compilation of both campaigns.
This is one of the first in-game events I’ve heard of that charges you for it.
What it wont give you is any gold bars back, unlike the previous outlaw passes
@mightyquin
Yeah, that was my only incentive to purchase the previous ones. Seems like they're trying to get people to spend more gold before they pull out the big guns - properties.
November ? Well after Halloween has ended
So...... You pay..... For A CHANCE to unlock stuff??
Stuff like this that makes me want to stop supporting a developer
Excellent. I've currently got a whopping and legit 517 gold bars but I have been playing it almost every day for the last couple of years.
Only broke cowboys will complain about this.
I wish devs would stop with the timed battle passes.
I don’t play this game so I have a question.
How long does it take to grind out 15 gold bars?
Is this a realistic price or just a way to get players to grind?
@Nepp67 I agree. It’s a games-as-service thing which isn’t sustainable. The game is basically punishing the players if they aren’t around during the the first year of updates and passes. Items are lost forever, cosmetic or otherwise, if you don’t log in and play when the game tells you to.
Who is in charge? The players or the publishers?
@OmegaStriver yeah similar to my thoughts. This seems really crappy to me. Players already bought the game, it seems to add very little content.
Other companies would provide this as a free update for all players.
@Arnna Well said and exactly. This is even worse when there's multiple games you love to play but they have timed battle passes so you need play each one quickly. It becomes less of a fun game and more of a job.
@Nepp67 your point about it feeling like a chore or job is right on the money. You have to play under their conditions instead of yours!
It’s also makes matters worse when the servers are offshore in a time zone that doesn’t match up to yours.
I’m in Australia so I’m effectively punished when I don’t play at 3am when the vast majority of player are around.
@Robocod Maybe we'll get a PS5 remake/remaster of Red Dead Redemption 1? That'd be cool .
Also a PS5 upgrade for RDR 2 just because.
