You may remember that Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to release on the 19th November before it was delayed into next month. The game also went gold prior to the delay announcement — meaning that it was ready to be pressed and shipped. Taking all of this into account, there was already speculation that the sudden delay would result in retail copies being shipped early — and more often than not, that results in leaks well ahead of the official release date.
And now we know that Cyberpunk 2077 is out there in the wild. Numerous posts on Reddit confirm that the game is with retailers, and in some cases, the title seems to have found its way into the hands of regular people. You know what that means!
If you're wary of potential Cyberpunk 2077 spoilers, then we strongly suggest that you start avoiding the topic on social media and on websites like YouTube. It really does seem like it's only a matter of time until the game's blown wide open.
Hopefully things don't get too bad before the official 10th December release date.

Well goodbye comment sections for the next few weeks I guess.
Well at least we know it's definitely releasing on December 10th, soooo you take the good with the bad I guess?
@Deadlyblack never underestimate CDPR, they will find a way to delay it, even if the copies are already out there /s
I really think we’re in for something special with this one and I can’t wait to dive in. The role playing nature of the game should make it less susceptible to spoilers but of course not immune. Tread carefully I suppose.
We can now confirm that the game exist
I'm still not totally convinced it won't get delayed again.
The game looks amazing. The release delays are amateurish.
I'm surprised there isn't a way to prevent even physical editions being played early, seeing as everything has to be installed nowadays.
I suppose if you didn't connect to the internet you could get round this.
Buys from store, opens case, sees a slip of paper that reads "delayed til 2021" 😉😆
I’m strangely not hyped at all despite loving The Witcher 3 and quite liking what I’ve seen so far. I think it’s probably best to wait for the PS5 version so at this point and time there’s no point in me getting excited until that’s closer.
@nessisonett
Similar feelings here, it's oversaturation for me. As a fan of Deus Ex games and cyberpunk in general I was excited from the very first teaser trailer 7-8 years ago. But that was before CD Projekt Red released the Witcher 3 and became a much bigger name. Now it seems it's one of the most anticipated games ever, something I was not expecting back then.
It's interesting in a way, because trying it out early with no Day 1 patches might give people a better idea of what the newest delay is for.
This is the one game I'm going to play on PC. Would have happily played on the PS5 or XSX if full next gen release was here. Small advantage of PC play is I can move from desktop to laptop and back. I plan to play 3 times, one in each role if its good enough so being a bit portable will help.
Don't care about what's out about the game. The whole of the Witcher 3 was being streamed before the game released and it did not spoil the game in the least for me.
@nessisonett same for me
Oh god, this is where "intelligent marketing" notices you like Cyberpunk, and then shows you the thumbnail for a YouTube video with a description of the ending in the title while you're browsing social media.
It's happened to me before!
@mariomaster96 Absolutely ZERO chance that happens. There is an unwritten law that says once it hits retailers you cant DELAY it. This would be the 1st time ever that would happen.
@hulkie
1. I wrote /s at the end of my comment indicating that it was a joke
2. Didn't exactly that happen with No Man's Sky, where I got delayed again yet suddenly there were copies out there?
I've just had my mantis blades fitted from my local ripperdoc ready to chop fools up if they spoil anything for me.
@ApostateMage I personally got gorilla hands off of social media all together due to last of us 2 being spoiled for me.
I one of those people that could watch a game from beginning to end and still not feel like it was spoiled for me. I'll check out all the videos that are available and I'll get the PS5 version when that's ready.
@ShogunRok lol
@DualshockInfinit That's awful, I couldn't imagine playing the last of us 2 already knowing what will happen. I'm definitely avoiding all Cyberpunk info until I finish the game but gotta finish AC Valhalla first.
Thoroughly looking forward to this game!
Off topic but CDPR and Nvidia released new spec guidelines for running this on pc and I was wondering if someone could break down what those mean for the PS4 Pro?
I don't keep up with this stuff enough to really know what I'm looking at.
This means we're gonna get the usual inbred morons posting "yeah, but <spoilers>" in random YouTube comments
@LemonHaze you're not understanding the point I was making at all. Look up max streaming resolutions on PS4 and PS4 Pro.
It's all a simulation! Darth vader is Luke's father! Colossus dies! The movie starts over in the middle! The dog says meow..
@God_of_Nowt Oh. Well that doesn't help lol.
WE ALL KNOW THE REAL REASONS FOR THE DELAY was because on November 19th WORLDWIDE ( NOT INCLUDING those NATIONs got ps5 on November 12th, but was because rest of the world got ps5 on November 19th CD Project Red didn't wanna release there game on playstation 5 day while they clearly love Microsofts partnership they was probably annoyed couldn't release it on 10th November so they delayed it until Nov 10th so they can ( Microsoft can take over advertisement make it look like a xbox exclusive like they tried and failed with assassins creed Valhalla advertisement and watchdogs legion but we all know there muti platform games anyway doesn't matter i wil be buying it on ps5
Its clear that they needed more time to ensure that when the game officially releases, there is a Patch ready to fix issues they were aware of from all the press (and others) who have been given copies to play and reported back issues.
I am sure there is a main storyline running through the game but from what I have read and watched on the game so far, I doubt that many will have the 'same' experience, the same dialogue choices, the same options in tackling quests etc. It seems far more ambitious and even more 'life like' interactions than we have seen from games to date. No doubt some sequences may well be very similar - those Braindances seem to be quite linear and likely to be the same - but it seems that the class you pick, the way you spec your character etc will have quite an impact on the story and dialogue. Therefore I am not overly concerned about Spoilers. I also have the option to not read/watch anything that could potential 'spoil' my playthrough...
so was the gameplay from a base ps4 and if so how did it run?
Will probably wait for true PS5 next generation upgrade. Would be good to know what month next year though, if we get it at all.
@hulkie lol wish that was true, I remember games in my store( I worked at ebgames) that got sent to the store that we had to destroy and couldn't sell. Xmen destiny came to store and we had preorders on it and had to destroy it and it never got released. Also lego lord of the rings was sent to stores with just a demo disk in it and we had to destroy them too, took a week to get the right copied. I think there were more games too. Imagine if that happened to cyberpunk. Lol people would lose there *****.
Gone Gold - delay
Leaked Copies - delay (would be pretty epic)
@Total_Weirdo Inevitably good as far as critics are concerned not so sure about general public
I got this yeah whatever feeling about Cyberpunk 2077 now. Some place inside I know I am still super excited for the game. Its in check for now until I get my physical copy in my hands!
Silver lining: Maybe they will discover some annoying bugs and the digital copies will be patched with bug fixes.
@Medic_Alert Same here. I've pre-ordered but will try to play as little as possible until I get my 4k TV early next year. Crazy, I know.
Cut content, delays, mtx in multiplayer, full-game leaks, CDPR kicked my dog....
I would say this is the year of bad releases but really it’s just the year of bad everything.
@Grimwood even an open world is still bound together by, hopefully, a decent story. But I agree the impact is not as big as a purely story driven game.
Im stil getting it on ps4. With next year free upgrade i don't feel like waiting. It doesn't make a difference to me. I'll only play it on ps4 for a couple of months anyways
@Enuo it would be a PR nightmare and they can't afford to lose anymore money plus the investors are already getting pissed. I don't think it will be delayed anymore
@ChilledAtGaming I'm getting the ps4 version. If the next gen upgrade wasn't free next year I'd wait as well, but I really don't feel like waiting since it doesn't make a difference:) glad I don't have to pay for the game twice
@T-gamer47 I wouldn't go as a far as saying investors are pissed, I think it's more so they hate uncertainty and the number of delays there have been in the past year making it appear as though the company is less certain about how close the game is to being ready for release.
Still, CD Projekt Red's stock remains elevated relative to the past five years and last I checked, is still the best performing stock in all of Europe the past decade (and if it's not the top one anymore, it's still has to be top 5-10), providing a total return of over 10,000% in USD terms, 12,000% in GBP, and almost 13,000% in PLN.
That kind of performance builds a lot of good will with investors, even if continued success is required for it to be maintained.
Great news! I was getting irritated by the multiple delays. Now we know for sure the December 10th date is FINAL.
Note: I will not reply to any mentions claiming there might be another delay.
