Starting next week with the arrival of Chapter 2 - Season 5, Epic Games will provide an optional subscription service for Fortnite players that bundles together the Battle Pass, a bundle of V-Bucks, and exclusive items. Dubbed Fortnite Crew, it'll cost users $11.99 per month to sign up and start earning more bonuses than ever before.
The Epic Games website clarifies that Fortnite Crew members will gain access to the Battle Pass for that particular season, 1,000 V-Bucks for every month you stay subscribed, and a new monthly Crew Pack. For December, that contains the all-new Galaxia Outfit, the Cosmic Llamacorn Pickaxe, and Fractured World Back Bling. A new pack will rotate in every month containing items only Fortnite Crew subscribers can claim as their own. Of course, you'll be able to cancel the membership at any time.
Would you or your kids be interested in signing up to Fortnite Crew? Share your thoughts on the subscription service in the comments below.

I am surprised this wasn't already a thing...
Can't objectively say if it is good value or not; never played Fortnite, probably never will.
What kids of this days see on this game will be forever a mystery to me
To put that in perspective it is more than Game Pass, Spotify or Netflix.
I really wanted to like fortnite, but the guns feel so bad to shoot.
Welcome to the future
I like Fortnite, but Christ this is stupid.
never played it but paying that every month for 1 game no thanks.
Everybody should be taking notes given Fortnite’s success so far with battle pass, dances, skins, etc
Worth it for the first month including the battle pass but all depends on the exclusive items if it’s worthwhile staying subbed or not.
My Nephew is obsessed with all things Fortnite at the moment and it’s cost me a bloody fortune in skins / items. Although it is cheaper than his previous obsession (LEGO), so I can’t really complain.
Five-years-ago me would have cursed games like Fortnite to the heavens but having young Nephews and seeing how much fun they have playing with their friends online, I totally understand the appeal now.
@GKO900 I play with my wife and kids. The Battlepass is the most generous of any game I’ve seen. I paid once around 3 years ago, 10 dollars. Since then, I’ve earned over 40 dollars of their currency and have been able to buy every BattlePass since.
This has allowed me to unlock a huge variety of characters, costumes, dances, unlocks bled in general. It offers multiple mode types and throws in special events like, the floor is lava, or everybody is a marvel super hero. The gun play and general gameplay is as solid as the best out there. I’m an older guy and tend to average 10+ kills a game, depending on the mode. The building is ok, not really my thing, but while the guys build I plant myself inside their build, they lose me, I watch for them, and then kill after the move out.
The map changes quite often which keeps boredom at bay. The BattlePass challenges are quite fun and actually make use of the map and are NOT constantly get kills with this gun or that grenade like most games.
So, that’s what we see in it.
@GKO900
"What kids of this days see on this game will be forever a mystery to me"
Id imagine the very same thing many grown adults see in call of duty 🤦♂️🤷♂️
@OmegaStriver my kids also play this have similarly done the same as you. Ive paid for 2 battle passes and they have earnt the rest to pay for the other battle passes just by playing it. They love it and if it doesnt cost me any additional money then im happy.
At least it's optional, thank goodness.
Not to mention I'll buy the Pass only if it has some good s#it in it from now on - Top Secret was a stellar season, and after the flooded map dork age, Battle For The Nexus proved to be one hell of a comeback. Can't wait for the "Mid-winter" freebies.
I hope this trash game dies permanently
This seems kinda brilliant but $12 a month is outrageous. Or, at least, that's my view as someone who has never touched Fortnite. Maybe this is a better value than I realize. Idk. I'm just glad my son stopped playing it because there's no way I'd pay this much a month.
@zupertramp It’s ‘good value’ in the sense that buying 1,000 v bucks on the psn will set you back £6.49 ($7.99). But not really ‘good value’ because you can’t really buy much for 1,000 v bucks. Most costumes cost double that.
Recently, the Venom costume was 2,000 v bucks on the store. That included a ‘Back bling’ and a Pickaxe. Back blings and Pixaxes usually cost 500-800 v bucks each. Gliders... 1,200 v bucks. Emotes range between 200-800 v bucks. Not sure how much the Wraps cost.
When you consider all that, it’s a bit pointless really. But I’ll sub the first month for my Nephews because I’ll be buying them the battle pass anyway.
Ridiculously expensive hobby if you allow it to be.
I play often but this isn't worth it for me.
@Kidfunkadelic83 Call of Duty was awesome years ago now maybe not but at least it didn’t ruin the game industry like Fortnite has done, now every game it’s becoming a gambling mini casino and honestly the gameplay it’s not that great to keep people playing for so long that’s why I don’t understand what kind of drugs they give to kids in schools to enjoy this garbage
@Kidfunkadelic83 Campaing, new maps, lots of different modes. I wasnt the biggest fan but the last COD Modern Warfare made me love it.
@GKO900 whilst i would never pay a monthly subscription for my kids to play this maybe your the one who is on drugs pal and not all those kids (and adults).Gambling? What are you on about? Everything that you can buy in fortnite, even the overpriced rubbish i would never pay for is completely cosmetic and nothing is hid behind a "you dont know what your getting until you pay" wall like so many games have today. Your gambling theory doesnt stick as there is no game of chance involved in anything you buy. The map is gigantic and is constantly being modified and updated, seasonal weather and landmarks, flooded areas etc to keep things fresh and feeling new. Whilst i dont play it and never would atleast im not another sheep that has to put down other peoples enjoyment when i have absolutely 0 clue what im talking about 😂Back to the drawing board for you pal or should i say detention as you didnt do your homework. Try again.
Save the world was a good buy, I've made thousands of V buck's and never had to purchase a battle pass. Not sure I like the new idea, especially as my kids have seperate accounts. No way I'm getting 2 subs. Fortnite's a great game for kids to have fun with friends. I enjoy helping with the odd challenges aswell - talking about you Wolverine
@Flaming_Kaiser true, more modes and a campaign albeit them not always being very long and more of an afterthought in some occasions. Lets face it tho its the multiplayer that they really concentrate on. Loved the origional MW games tho.
There is plenty of thing to do in fortnight tho. So many things to unlock in the season passes for doing certsin tasks etc. Lets also not forget the timed themes etc. Avengers,Marvel, John wick etc. Im not saying i like the game as online competitive multiplayer isnt my bag but it just makes me laugh when sheep just follow a crowd and say a games crap not having a clue what they are talking about(not talking about you btw)
@fR_eeBritney now this i agree on. Id never buy my kids vbucks for individual consumables. You could literally spend thousands. The only stuff my kids are allowed is stuff they unlock through battle pass which i have purchased once.
@Kidfunkadelic83 My bad I didn’t explain myself but my point is that since this game it’s free and lives from cosmetic micro transactions and for some reason kids love to spend billions on this, which proves that skins matter in a game, now everyone adopted some kind of predatory surprise mechanic which is nothing new but now thanks to this game they are more aggressive because it’s hard for a $60 game to compete against free
@GKO900 fifa has been doing it way before fortnite came along buddy with it paid card packs, which is gambling. How much do you have to spend to get Ronaldo so your team is competitive online? 1 pack if your extremely lucky 100's of packs if your not so lucky. I completely agree that cosmetic items in games like fortnite are predatory and the rayio of what you spend to what you get is rediculous, especially when you consider that in a months time a new, better skin will be out. My point was that unless you actually investigate without writing the game off you can actually unlock a rediculous amount of content without spending a penny. I, like you wrote this game off a long time ago and begrudgingly purchased the season pass for my kids but when my lad sat me down and showed me what it contained and the process for unlocking the items i was actually surprised at what it contained. Needless to say my boy now plays on mouse and keyboard on a gaming pc and is very, very good. Over 1000 wins now.
My fiancee and I are looking into getting back into Fortnite. She loves it. I, eh, it's alright.
I like the skin. The question is, are we, as a couple, the dumb***es in question that would pay for this per month?
Quite possibly. Especially if she sees this. lmao
Fortnite is the BEST thing to happen to gaming... frees up servers on my favorite games because all the kids are playing Fortnite! Leaves more mature online games to the adults
That's just sickening, one games offering subscription for dlc at the same price of netflix, gamepass and other real subscription services, just gross
Exploitive practices like this that are obviously targeted at children need to be banned ASAP, the entire money for cosmetics should be banned because it's not simply a "well if you got the money to spend" type of thing, obviously always meant to target the children
@Kidfunkadelic83 Im sorry but i have too disagree this was one of my favorite campaings with COD otherwise i would not be praising it. Finally a look from the other side a really cool female character. I dont see unlocking skins on mostly the same mode like something special but thats me.
The more kids buy these, the more free games I get on Epic store. All hail Fortnite!
