Gacha slam-dunk Genshin Impact will run at 60 frames-per-second on the PlayStation 5, courtesy of PS4 backwards compatibility. Chinese developer miYoHo confirmed that it’s “been working to ensure that Genshin Impact will be fully backwards compatible with the new console” on the PlayStation Blog, and added that the release’s new v1.1 update – available today – will include PS5 Game Boost improvements. The PS4 Pro version ran at a largely inconsistent 30 frames-per-second.
The patch will also include new characters, weapons, and various other enhancements and improvements. “We are dedicated to bringing players the best gaming experience possible and are extremely grateful for everyone’s continued patience and support as we continue to create the world of Teyvat,” explained brand manager Jason Chuang. Maybe I'll play it then, I tried it at release on my base PS4 but those framedrops really turned me off
Hopefully it also has a more stable connection and/or better load times. I'm really tired of getting booted to the home screen every time I put my PS4 on rest mode.
Good thing sony supports chinese spyware that steals all our data
I should have been 120 fps easily! Since it is not heavy on the hardware
@andjahiam Keep saying nonsense.
I'll keep playing on mobile and pc since cross save is present there. As soon as cross save hits the console version I'll be playing on my PS5
It's a bloody good game with an awful gacha (lootbox) mechanic.
I've said it before but if they got rid of the gatcha and late game grind, or if it was made by Nintendo, this game would be getting a lot of 9 or 10s and be in contention for game of the year.
I tried the game after all of the good reviews and thought it was fairly boring. It would be better in my opinion if you had a party of characters instead of just swapping between a bunch. The gachas became really in your face quickly too.
@Nepp67 There was literally a data breach yesterday that the developers didn't even care to address. He isn't bullsh*tting
Really looking forward to the 1.1 update. While I hate the gacha I've been hoarding gems for the new banner, don't care about the new characters but I really want some Ningguang dupes for her constellation and the chest finder so I can find some bloody XP books!
@Enuo - Working as intended I'm afraid. Every game with a constant server connection will boot you to main menu in rest mode. Destiny, Warframe, The Division etc all do it. It's not a Genshin Impact only thing.
@Shigurui Much sad. Very disappoint.
@Enuo - Hah, it's a pain I know, especially with the crappy load times. At least it does the Dark Souls thing and puts you back in exactly where you left off. Loading into the game and then having to travel back to the area you were last in would be insulting.
@TheFrenchiestFry I don't think the breach affects PS4 users though since you don't provide your info to make an account. Doesn't make it better, but at least there's potentially less people affected.
This game needs cross-save with ios like, ages ago. I want to play this on ps5 but I want to be able to cross-save it with my phone! I really hope sony and mihoyo can make cross-save with ios happen.
I'd sacrifice precious space for it. I really just want to run Nioh 2 on it. I wonder what Team Ninja is gonna announce on Friday...
