Talk about a trailer that will make you sit upright in the morning with your mug of coffee. The Town of Light developer LKA has confirmed that its next title will be coming to both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 with a very unsettling reveal that you can check out above. Announced during last night's Golden Joystick awards, Martha Is Dead appears to be a straight-up horror title with the aim of getting under your skin. It launches at some point in 2021.
The game will be built using Unreal Engine 4, representing a step forward for the studio. Luca Dalco, founder and director of LKA, said: "This is a game that merges the raw power of PC and next-generation consoles, and all we’ve learned from developing The Town of Light. Martha is Dead is an evolution in psychological storytelling, and we’re driven to build a compelling, gripping world Full of twists and turns for players to explore in 2021." Spooky stuff indeed!
Will you be keeping Martha Is Dead on your radar as we head into next year? Relax in the comments below.

hmmm ... interested ... more please
Looking good.
No idea what that's all about, but I'm intrigued.
String puppets are creepy.
Why did you say that name?!?
Batman and Superman have their pre-orders in already.
Really enjoyed The town of Light so I'll deffo be getting this too!
This looks good. Anyone else play their first game? Curious to know what people thought of it.
Ohhhhh now this looks interesting. Bring on the horror titles for PS5 and let's see what developers can do using the Haptics and Pulse 3D...
I loved the trailer originally shown for xbox, not too into the artsy puppet thing tbh
@Gmork___ It must be the "thing" for the moment with horror titles. If you recall it's also used in the Resident Evil VII.I.AGE trailer. I personally quite like it in both and find them suitably creepy...
@LordSteev It's a very slow paced game that mostly involves piecing the story together through notes and flashbacks. It's not a horror game like this game is looking to be but if you are into history and studying mental illness like I am then it's worth a playthrough. It's also fairly short.
@Matroska not a chance. They both know Lex is the one to blame, so they know the ending already.
@PegasusActual93
Thanks again! Twice I had questions and twice you had answers. I think that means I owe you two beers!
I'm definitely intrigued, looking forward to seeing some gameplay.
@PegasusActual93 Would you elaborate on you studies? I have a bachelor degree in psychology so please excuse my curiosity.
@Turbodream I don't have a degree in it aside from a few psychology classes when i was in uni. I just do reading in my spare time.
