FIFA 21 PS5 Upgrade Available Now, Looks Awesome

I have inserted the PS4 disc into my PS5 console but nothing seems to be happening. Anyone know how to start it?

It does look good. But personally I stil hate EA and its scummy microtransactions and loot boxes.

I’m a football fan who hasn’t played FIFA since the PS1. I gotta say, that video makes me want this game...

This actually looks way better than I expected, the new camera angle and models looks fantastic. Klopp’s going to haunt me in my nightmares, that model is creepily realistic.

Close up with some of the animations (especially from the crowd), it looks a bit dodgy to me, but on the pitch, you'd forgive someone for thinking it was real.

I've not played FIFA in a few years but it looks like the player animations haven't changed in that time.

It looks so juddery compared to PES. Theres no real seamlessness to player movement and kicking the ball in physically unrealistic movements.

Don't get me wrong PES isn't perfect but the player movements look much more fluid and life-like.

There was one bit there about 5 mins in the game time where the player manages to kick the ball behind him about 30 yards barely turning. Looked so unnatural.

The animation transitions are far too quick and don't blend particularly well. Yes it will slow the game down in trying to move the ball about a certain way but it's more realistic. It's the one thing that puts me off FIFA..

I tried pes. But shocked about all the missing teams and players. Pes is ps3 amateur quality

Been playing it a bit since this morning. I'm enjoying what they've done with utilising the triggers to show stamina and also ofcourse it just looks better! Actually looks like it could be real life at a glance. I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed or not but they seem to have slowed it down a bit as well, ASM for example feels alot slower now.

Those animations though, it looks so wooden.

I thought it was real at first but then Bobby scored a goal.

This was hilarious. Just like real life. Mo having an awful game, first touch on a two on two straight to the oppo, hits the post for a one on one then bang! out of nowhere gets his goal.
Also did you notice when he celebrated by praying his shorts rip and you see his pants underneath his shorts. Thats just weird!

@UboatUK exact same thing happening to me. According to EA on Twitter, they're 'apparently' looking into it.

I know it's a day early but still, trust EA to butcher a release.

Klopp moves really oddly and weightlessly when you see him after the first goal. There's something odd about it - any realism comes from tech like scanning the players rather than any artistry that can make it all work well, with more weighty and natural animations.

@solocapers preach, brother! PES has always been a better game.

Looks awesome but it plays exactly the same.

Been playing fifa since ps3. If no major gameplay improvements next year, I will won't be buying.

You mentioned that next gen users can play against ps4 users. This is not true. EA stated months back that there will be no crossplay unless it changed?
