We’ve got a sneaking suspicion we know what many of you will be playing this weekend, but the eternal question still needs to be asked. What are you playing this weekend?
Sammy Barker, Editor
I’m frustrated with Cyberpunk 2077’s technical shortcomings, but I’m still really enjoying the game. There’s so much to like about Night City, and I’ll be spending the weekend exploring it – assuming my game doesn’t crash too often.
What are you playing this weekend, then? Will it be Cyberpunk 2077 all weekend, or are you enjoying something else? Let us know in the comments section below.

Same as I said on nintendolife.
I’m playing crash 2: the wrath of cortex and fist of the north star on ps4 (ps5 backwards compatibility), planet coaster and sackboy on ps5 and pokemon shield on nintendo switch.
I was going spend this weekend making different user accounts on Metacritic to bombard the Cyberpunk 2077 review with 0/10 scores but I think I'll just play the game instead because it's f**kin' ace!
I'm going to be starting a fresh playthrough of FFXIV on Twitch (the_grumblr) as a grand experiment to see how quickly you can get caught up without skipping cutscenes and dialogue. It also serves for tuning my new connection and getting Streamlabs running well

Cyberpunk on base PS4 for me. Was playing yesterday and got so frustrated with the visuals and framerate I was about to uninstall it and demand a refund. Then I downloaded the 1.04 patch and wow what a difference ! Smooth frames, far better graphics, especially with the film grain and HDR turned off. A huuggeee improvement. Since last night been playing non stop and underneath that initial jankiness is a superb, adult RPG. And with future patches it can only get better. So have faith guys like I did. And no I don't work for CDPR lol
Working all weekend on top of that so not much time for anything else.
Have a good weekend guys ♥️♥️
Persona 5 Royal, probably for the rest of the year too.
@ApostateMage agreed. Can't put it down
Bit more spiderman, which I'm really enjoying. Normally ubisoft style open worlds aren't my thing but insomniac absolutely nailed this game! Traversal and combat so far have been fun and even found myself distracted by collectables hunting. Also trying to resist the urge to buy cyberpunk and wait till the thing works! Happy gaming folks
I started playing Dark Souls 2 last week and I think I’m around 1/2 the way through, maybe a little over. Not counting the DLC. It’s really good! Hoping to plough some monster time into it this weekend and keep that momentum going straight into Dark Souls 3. I have the base game on disc but see it’s £12.99 in a sale with all DLC at the moment so I might get that.
Uncharted The Lost Legacy. I realize a lot of people didn't really bother after playing U4, because they feel it's just some DLC but oh my this reminds me again why ND are top dogs in the biz. Got Tomb Raider too. Then probably some Red Dead Online.
Yakuza 7. I do have a copy of Cyberpunk but I'll wait on it until CDPR irons the game out.
Thinking of starting up Ratchet & Clank, lots to catch up on before Rift Apart comes out. Also playing Hades on Switch still and one of the GOTY easily. Have a good weekend folks!
Cyberpunk on PS5. I think some controller sensitivity adjustment is required - I’m not enjoying the combat/gun play as much as I probably should, it feels a little too twitchy with default settings. Has anyone made any control adjustments, if so, what are some suggestions?
So far I’m finding the world very impressive - it’s just so atmospheric. The music fits perfectly and it’s nice that there are a couple of less futuristic/electronic-sounding stations. It’s great just cruising around flicking through the radio stations and doing little else but soaking everything in.
Does the game actually have any activities besides the main story and side quests? Part of me is imagining a more GTA-like experience that leans less on the RPG elements, but this is CDPR after all.
Hopefully yesterday’s update will reduce/eliminate crashes, as I’ve now started to experience a few of those.
@TheArt The Lost Legacy is absolutely fantastic.
@playstation1995 Oops!
😉
I'll be playing Jedi Fallen Order, a good game and I'm enjoying it. It's hard at times (Dathomir in particular) but never to the point where you think progress is impossible. Hollow Knight on the other hand...
Ha, maybe not impossible but it can be quite hard and further progress right now is being hindered by a certain Hornet. I got close a couple of times but on most occasions she kicks my backside. I'm really enjoying the game, there's certainly a lot to admire, but being stuck on one boss is a tad soul-destroying. I'll stick with it but Jedi is now my 'main'.
Oh and will be watching Spurs and Kane and Son (ha) take down the Eagles....of Palace not Philly lol. Stay top of the EPL, Champions 20/21, word up. son.
Pushing towards AR 49 in Genshin Impact on PS4 and starting either Control or Dragon's Dogma on XBSS for today. Tomorrow will be an all day co-op session on Risk of Rain 2 with 3 friends. Have a good weekend and happy gaming all!
Lots of Cyberpunk 2077 for me.
I'm on the final boss of Sekiro. It's kicking my ass, but I'm so close now I'm determined to beat it!
Playing a mix of games this weekend.
Ps4: The Last Of Us Part 2 and AC Valhalla
Xbox 1: Watch Dogs Legion & Dragon Quest (really long name to lazy to type out via gampass)
Nintendo Switch: SuperSmash Bros Ultimate & Control
Far Cry 4 on the PS4...such a fun sandbox! Evert time I decide to progress on the main story, I find fun other stuff to do instead!
Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 Pro all weekend for sure! Patch 1.04 seems to provide less hiccups and slightly better graphics, but just encountered my first crash unfortunately. Hoping it stays occasional dammit!
Because of the true trophies Xmas challenge I'm playing games I've not touched for months like ni no Kuni 2, mirrors edge catalyst and sleeping dogs. Great games.
And aiming for completed game 250 when I plat darksiders 1 later. Great game but I'm not gonna bother with the sequels. It's great but not that great.
Mixing it up between Dragon’s Dogma and Dragon Crown Pro. And getting in some Street Fighter V and Samurai Shodown.
Demon's Souls for me, I took down the Tower Knight last night and will be attempting the Armor Spider today. Will also play some Rocket League with my nephews. Do I need to defeat a specific type of enemy to progress past the tower knights arch stone?
Banjo-Kazooie (N64) - Playing Freezeezy Peak for Christmas!
Flowerz (Windows Phone) - Completing that last remaining levels.
Cut the Rope: Experiments (Windows Phone) - Retrying a handful of levels to get three stars.
Still playing Valhalla as I aim to finish it before Christmas. Have also bought Cyberpunk and waiting to download the patch for it to run smoother. Played it for about 2 hours yesterday and I'm not quite sure how I feel about it yet.
Picked up Space Invaders Forever on a whim and it’s fantastic. I had forgotten how much fun the PSP Space Invaders game was.
Also, finally started playing The Council, which has been really entertaining, aside from occasional wince inducing voice acting.
I'll be diving into both Spider-Man games on my shiny new PS5. Got Cyberpunk as well, but I'll wait for CDPR to finish the game before I start playing... I still have to start Demon's Souls as well, so there's no rush.
Cyberpunk on ps4pro.
I keep telling myself that this is very special johnny mnemonic-like li-fi visual style.
Exploring a beautiful world full of bugs. No, not Cyberpunk - it's Hollow Knight
Exploring a beautiful world full of bugs. Yes, it’s Cyberpunk. Playing it on PS5 I haven’t encountered much for bugs, but I’ve hit the occasional crash or wonky graphic hiccup. But overall, I’m enjoying my time in Night City.
Cyberpunk for me!! I must be lucky but I'm playing on ps4 and I haven't had any bugs or framerate issues. Downloaded the new patch last night and wow big difference in graphics!!! So I started the game over. So far no complaints. I was playing Valhalla before this so it took me awhile to adjust to the completely different environments.
Cyberpunk. Really cool game but not fully baked on current gen hardware. I’m enjoying it immensely but I have had to reload previous saves a frustrating amount of times to fix scripting issues. Back to night city!
Playing Valhalla. I really loved Origins & Odyssey, but I’m not really able to get into Valhalla. I’ve played it on & off & I'm finding it difficult to get into. I will complete it tho, it was expensive to buy. Its just that the game hasn’t got me hooked.....yet? Regardless will put more time into it over the weekend.
My PS5 finally arrived on Thursday I am playing Miles Morales and might jump in to Sackboy A Big Adventure. I have finished Astros Playroom which I thought was great.
@Col_McCafferty. No doubt playa word up son
If you would have asked me on wednesday, I would have told you Cyberpunk 2077... Now I’m back at AC: Valhalla 😭😭😭
Another “exciting” game I played was assembling an IKEA Pax wardrobe 🥵
Cyberpunk! The day 2 update seems to have fixed quite a bit. Hopefully they keep them rolling.
Some more Cyberpunk but also have just bought a decent crt so I'm going to start Metal Gear Solid on the PS1
Playing street of rage 4 on ps4, already have it on pc since it's way cheaper but bought the ps4 version when there's psn discount. It's still more expensive than pc version though but I prefer playing it on big tv with console
@MightyDemon82
If I remember correctly, you can start with any archstone from that point. I went to 2-1 after tower knight, and continued onwards straight from there, then went back to 1-3 after finishing world 4. The difficulty seemed the pace accordingly.
just bought devil may cry 5 special ed. for PS5 hope it's good. Never played any DMC before...
1. Cyberpunk 2077. Finally got the hang of it. Also in a fantastic story arc right now.
2. AC: Valhalla
I'm playing the excellent Cyberpunk 2077, going off this site and its users you'd think it was a disaster and a game that doesn't even work on any platform that lacks any quality.
It's one of, if not the best game of 2020 and a few minor crashes on the PS5 won't sour my experience, Skyrim is a broken mess to this day yet people say it's the greatest game ever made, and I agree it's one of the best RPGs! So why does Cyberpunk get judged harshly?
I smell hypocrisy.
Working through FF7R, on chapter 9, it’s a good enough game with great potential going forward, but isn’t the rollercoaster ride the original is. Very different atmosphere and feel.
1. Sly 2 from Sly Cooper Collection PS3
2. Animal Crossing New Horizons
League of Legends. Cyberpunk is ok but I was expecting much better. Still an enjoyable action game...it's not an RPG at all though.
Been playing Dirt 5, this is the closest game to SEGA Rally I've played in years, great arcade racer.
@DonJorginho Are you seeking attention bro? Ok, good for you, we're happy that it's working properly on your Console! Either you're living in a bubble or you're trolling us. Just go on reddit and you'll see how the game operates on last gen consoles... CDPR promised an "optimized" game and they clearly didn't deliver such a thing, simple as that.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla on my PS5 once again. Maybe some Injustice 2 too mix things up...
@xRetrox I'm talking about the relentless hate I see for this game within every subsection on this site.
The game has issues on last gen, inexcusable issues, CDPR truly messed up and should be criticised and held responsible for greedy marketing tactics which saw them lie to their loyal customer base whilst taking all their money happily, knowing that they would have a terrible experience.
I'm talking about the game itself, about people hating on the game for the game it is, I'm also talking about those playing on PS5 acting like it's broken due to a couple crashes, it is fine and not a mess.
I apologise if you thought I was gloating or seeking attention as I'm not, I just hate how quickly gaming fans turn on things, it shows how fickle they can be, that isn't aimed at last gen users though as they have been royally bent over by CDPR.
Spider-Man Remastered and Uncharted 3. Both are great games. After this I plan to play only one story game per time.
Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition and Cyberpunk 2077.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate has been really quite good so far, love the setting and the game play’s rather addictive. I’ll also dip in and out of Risk of Rain 2, play some more Code Vein and maybe polish off Haven.
Cyberpunk and maybe some COD Cold War
BioShock infinite and Detroit becoming human. Both are great games!
Either Yakuza 3 or Ghost of Tsushima on PS4. I haven't touched my Switch in over a week, so maybe I'll play some Breath of the Wild.
@gamiller1978 Same. Loving it so far.
@DonJorginho Thank you for saying this, and I'm sorry if acted harshly.
This weekend, I have been mostly eating... Project Wingman.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/895870/Project_Wingman/
@Link41x Freezeezy Peak has the best/most annoying music in BK depending on how much time you've played the level. 😄
Great idea, though! I may have to go pack some twinklies myself!
@TheArt I recently bought UC4 and Lost Legacy but haven't started them yet. I suppose I should play 4 before, right?
@andreoni79 Yeah, play 4 first, although LL is largely a stand alone thing. But there are some story beats that rely on UC 4 to get the full impact.
I’ll hopefully make progress with the excellent God of War. I could listen to Christopher Judge say “Boy!” all day long. If ‘voice envy’ is a thing, then I have it for Christopher Judge. If only I had a golden voice like that!
@MemSec thanks i'll be farming souls before i go and attempt the Armor Spider later tonight and then i'll check out some of the other areas.
Had fun playing Rocket League with my nephews earlier, my car has sic decals apparently and they reckon i'm good in goals so that put a smile on my face
Screw the new games, I’m having a lot of fun playing Mad Max again. Dystopian, cars, fights, third person and some kind of leveling system so this is also an rpg. Going mad....
@andreoni79 Play 4 first I think, although you've commited a great sin by just buying that masterpiece only now 😒. 4 + LL makes all other Indiana Jones type games look average especially graphics and gameplay wise. Naughty Dog makes it hard to leave the PlayStation brand you know.
Danganronpa 2. I think I love it more than the 1st. Especially the cast
And dragon quest 11 is coming tomorrow. Finally get to play it since it 1st came out lol. So much waiting and skipping platforms
@TheArt I played the firts three UC games only when they arrived on PS4 and playing them one after another maybe was too much. This is why I decided to play the remaining two games only once on sale; during Black Friday they were just € 9.90 each for the retail version so I obviously grabbed them!
Was gonna play Cyberpunk but my PlayStation melted during Act I. Hopefully they patch that soon. So I guess it's checkers and Monopoly this weekend for me.
We all know what I am playing, on the base PS4. After the patch it's honestly not that bad. Frame rate has been okay for the most part and the pop in has been reduced in yesterdays patch considerably. It also looks better when you turn motion blur, film grain and all that other garbage that just makes the screen look like it's covered in vaseline. And it only crashed once so far in about 10 hours. Not ideal but I was raised on the N64, so I can live with this. Actual game itself is phenomenal. On the side i'm spending the rest of the time focusing on playing Persona 4 on the Vita much to my wife's annoyance
Still playing Persona 5 for the first time - about 25 hours in. I slowly put in some time in Miles Morales and Sackboy (which, Jesus, is getting a bit too hard) afterwards. I'll eventually get to Demon's Souls. Need to get through as much as I can before Disco Elysium comes out.
AC Origins and Ni no Kuni 2.
Cyberpunk worth it on a base ps4 or i wait for discount promotion?
@Tatarimokke it's a fantastic game, bet it's even better on PS5
@Onigumo with yesterday's patch it's definitely worth it on base PS4. It's fixed a lot of issues with more patches to come. It's a great story and I've not been able to stop playing. Yet just the other day I was gonna uninstall it and demand a refund !
Resisting the urge to play cyberpunk on the ps5, probably just play cold war or something.
MUST NOT PLAY CYBERPUNK UNTIL ITS FIXED.
I like what I've played of cyberpunk on my ps5 but decided to hold off till the crashing issue is resolved, getting kinda frustrating now.
so I've picked up my vita for the first time in ages and im playing Muramasa Rebirth and Dragons crown on Ps5 loving both.
Finishing my first platinum in Demon’s Souls!!
Finally playing Sekiro on PS5 loving it but it’s been over a year since I played a souls like game and I’ve been mostly dying
Code Vein for me.
@Vacuumator I went into advanced settings under controls and turned off the settings that was increasing the speed at which you turned (think it was called Turning up Speed or something like that) basically meant that whenever I moved the camera it moved at a stable rate that was predictable (and made aiming far easier)
Continuing to ruin my eyesight with Cyberpunk. Can't put it down and find myself thinking about it even when not playing. All the hallmark signs of addiction.
Cyberpunk for me, really enjoying Night City. About 5/6 hours in, just one crash on PS5 no biggie great game so far!
Exploring a beautiful world full of bugs. Talkin' about Bugsnax. Just finished the story and got a couple of trophies left to platinum. Not sure what else I'll play tomorrow, maybe take a break and watch some festive films.
I played Cyberpunk for 10 hours on PS5 and it’s a great game. But it’s really buggy, visually underwhelming and looks really blurry and it’s crashed my PS5 4 times. I didn’t want to but I may drop it for now
Spider-man remastered on PS5.
@Col_McCafferty i hope you have a great time with Jedi Fallen Order. I played it back in March and I had an absolute blast playing it. Well worth playing through to the end. So good!
I'll be liberating the island if Tsushima once my finals are over.
Ghost of Tsushima arrived just before Cyberpunk, so I'm slicing my way through Japan. I think Cyberpunk will have to wait a few weeks
Admittedly, weekends I don't really play anything. Having 2 kids puts a stop on that. But I recently started a be a pro career on NHL 20, so I'm looking to continue that over the next week, and looking at finally picking up and playing through God of War (I borrowed it from a work colleague for a few days back in 2018 and only played the first couple of hours before returning it, but I've managed to snag it from my younger brother now that he's part of the PS5 contingent)
Mostly still playing Horizon: Zero Dawn, getting utterly destroyed by Snapmaws as I rush in with no planning and hope for the best 90% of the time. I love the world though, and my wife is enjoying watching the plot unfold. Looking forward to playing a new season of Fall Guys with the kids too. Then a new pile of games in two weeks!
Hi there fellow gamers.
So....... I was going to wait for the PS5 version of Cyberpunk 2077...... But a friend of mine got me an early birthday present in the form of a PC version of said game 😊
Wich means I´ll be exploring Night City with the highest settings and glorious 60 fps.
I´ll give my impressions of the game later if anyone wants to know.
Cheers, stay safe and happy gaming weekend to everyone
@nessisonett ive tsken it upon myself to nuy Metro Exodus as 1, it was on offer and 2, i (think) i recall seeing you said you really enjoyed it.
@Col_McCafferty Hi there friend.
Jedi Fallen Order is a pretty good game overall, glad you´re enjoying it.
Had a lot of fun exploring the different planets and mastering the combat. It becomes so good in the end.
So you´re stuck on Hornet huh?
Some advice: listen to her shouts. She will shout before she does most of her attacks.
Don´t get greedy. She´s faster that you, so play slow.
And try to learn NOT to heal. I know, sounds crazy, but in certain fights it is better to just learn the rhythm.
And this is a very good Boss fight for you to learn the very rhythm of the game.
And remember, you can jump and attack down. A simple but crucial mechanic of the game.
This is one of my favourite fights of the game.
My absolute favourite is........ No spoilers 😜
Cheers, stay safe and enjoy your weekend
@Kidfunkadelic83 Hope you enjoy it, it’s up there with my favourite FPS games of all time. It took a couple of levels for it to totally click for me but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Just make sure to stick around in the interim levels on the train, you can find loads of optional conversations that enhance the experience.
@nessisonett pretty good so far. Just got away with the train. I find the gun play a but iffy. Aiming seems hard as it does in many FPS. The only thing imo that COD does well at.
@Kidfunkadelic83 COD is pretty much the master of gun handling but I quite like the weighty approach to Metro’s gunplay. The weapon crafting system’s so good that it encourages variation too.
Chasm
Wreckfest
Spiritfarer
@nessisonett yeah i have an issue with most FPS gun mechanics apart from Cod (which i havnt played since 4 remastered came out as i dont like any after that really) i love the world tho and i have just unlocked crafting from the back pack. Very good.
@Link41x
Frezeezy peak's theme will forever be burned into your skull like it has for me the last 20 years
I was finally able to buy a PS5 (disk version), after 6 hours of refreshing the store's app, and a boatload of luck.
i've installed and updated it, moved everything from my PS4 Pro, and finalized all the configurations. So now on to Astro's Play room and some Demon's Souls after that.
Good luck to everyone still searching for the "big white"!
@deathaxe yeah ive got stuck a couple of times where i go to the marked location on the map but cant find the point where to interact. Pretty good tho.
@RaZieLDaNtE Thanks for the feedback. I had a couple of close calls but reckon my defeats to her are now in double figures lol
I will give it a few more tries I think.
Yeah Jedi has surprised me, I quite like going back to planets and unlocking new areas and gear. The combat is good and I enjoy playing around with the Force, pushing enemies off high vantage points and pulling others towards me before dealing the telling blow. It's a bit rough in places and has briefly frozen a few times but it's a solid game, technically quite impressive although the Wookies weren't great!
Got back into Bowsers Inside Story (ds) a bit this weekend, while sitting by my Netflix fire. But mostly i played CrossCode on my ps4.
Gonna spend my $60 Cyberpunk refund on something but not sure what just yet.
I'll probably keep grinding on The Witcher 3 (hoping to finish it one day! - all while streaming it on Twitch ) , and maybe even play DBD for the first time since i got it like 4 months ago and never had the time (nor some chill people to play with a newbie like me) to play it , some Days Gone, some Genshin Impact , and a zillion rounds of Apex Legends.
Been playing Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5 since Thursday. 20 hours in and enjoying it so far. I did turn off film grain and chromic abboration, that does sharpen the image some what. Basically playing an enhanced PS4 Pro version at 60fps. Can't wait for final PS5 version 😎
