David Hayter, the iconic English voice of Solid Snake and Big Boss, recently got together with the original voice talent of Metal Sear Solid through the magic of Zoom. Hayter posted about the call on Twitter, teasing that details are "coming soon".

Naturally, everyone's already foaming at the mouth at the prospect of the long-rumoured Metal Gear Solid remake being real — but let's not jump to conclusions just yet. There's every chance that this could just be the cast getting together for a chinwag about the good old days, which would certainly be interesting in its own right. Let's not forget that Metal Gear Solid helped pave the way for fully voiced video games all the way back on the original PlayStation.
In any case, we're looking forward to seeing what this is all about. Are you a fan of David Hayter and the Metal Gear Solid gang? Tune into the comments section frequency below.

My favorite ps1 game
Yeah it’s just gunna be some big zoom chat.
I've never heard of a Metal Gear Solid remake rumor, that would be amazing 'cause that old thing has aged so poorly. I have mixed feelings about it because of the death of the robot ninja, but it's understandable, in this case.
NINJA APPROVED
MGS 1 remake on gamecube was amazing.
@BloodNinja The death of Grey Fox was a huge cinematic moment in my early days of gaming.
"It's on the box Snake! The code to join the Zoom meeting is ON THE BOX!"
Would make a great mobile game
I hope it's leading to an actual announcement, but I don't trust Konami to do anything that'd make us happy. It's likely just a non-official reunion stream for charity or something, which is still pretty cool.
@BloodNinja It's not a rumor as much as wishful thinking. Before the Demon's Souls remake was announced many, many, many folks were certain Bluepoint were working on an MGS remake, but there was never anything substantial to back that up.
@Luna-Harmony no it wasn't
It's just a zoom call peeps. Nothing to see here.
I have heard a few rumours that blupoint games was making metal gear solid remake at the same time as making demon souls remake, which I think is possibly or maybe I'm just hoping it is true. Sony is also rumoured to purchase blupoint games and was waiting to see how the demons souls remake turned out first, which I hope is true as well if only to stop Microsoft from trying to get them lol
Next Bluepoint remake?
They're hatching a plot on Zoom to edit out Hideo Kojima's name in the credits of all his games. That'll teach him for dropping David.
They will finally release what everyone is looking for: Metal Gear Survive Mobile (codename shovelware) with obligatory microtransactions
It's Konami. Probably a Solid Snake slot machine. They are a horrible organisation but I love the series. Won't be the same without Kojima...
This is literally just a zoom call.
@GeneJacket I believe this will be BluePoints next game. Didn't Moore's Law drop the bombshell on his stream? I'm sure I remember that...
@billyboyblue666 I have no ideas who that is so I can't speak to the validity of it, though I would have to assume if there was any validity to it every new site would have picked it up.
Regardless, I both would and wouldn't be surprised. On one hand, I'd be surprised because I don't trust Konami to do literally anything that treats their IP with any respect. On the other, Sony is very smart, and exclusively securing a remake from Bluepoint would be a very, very smart thing to do
I hope it is true, but I'm not holding my breath.
@GeneJacket Thank you, Afro-donning human!
@JoshuaTChandler Same here, very glad we got to experience it at the time it was most relevant!
NINJA APPROVED BUT NO MORE SENSELESS NINJA DEATH PLZ
Snake? Snake? SNAAAAAAAAKE!!!... you're muted...
Hi there fellow gamers.
Even if it is just a zoom chat, it´s going to be awesome seeing the gang back together again.
Hope they read some iconic lines similar to the Mass Effect reunion.
Metal gear Solid will always be my personal number one favourite gaming franchise of all time.
Second being Mass Effect and third Legacy of Kain,
Soul Reaver especially, of course.
Man, I want that PS5 Remake to happen so much.
A guy can dream.
Cheers, stay safe and happy gaming to us all
This was such a perfect PSX experience for me back in the day that I never thought it needed to be remade but now that I think about it... original PSX Metal Gear Solid + MGSV: Phantom Pain gameplay = YES, PLEASE!
Honestly even if this MGS1 remake ends up being real, I will always have a soft spot for Twin Snakes on GameCube
Looking back at it with the context of the subsequent MGS games, there's nothing really outlandish that happens in Twin Snakes that feels like it actually clashes with the rest of the series. It's less faithful to MGS1 specifically, but it does work well as a reimagining considering it came out around the time the series was beginning to become way more stylized anyway
@Saucymonk We live in an age of UHD TVs, OLEDs, even 4K projectors, VR and surround sound and yet you want to play games on a mobile?
I've an old Nokia 3310 knocking about somewhere if you want to play snake on a mobile?!
Pfft, games on mobiles.
BIO BOOSTER ARMOUR GUYVER HE'S COMING TO GET YOU!!!!!
Wasn't Metal Gear Solid just the NES game Snake's Revenge with a 3D perspective?
I want all of the previous games remade for PS5 on one disc for £29.99.
Konami's already moved on to Pachinko MGS machines and mobile games. It'll be a bummer if it's a mobile game. But, having said all that, I don't think there's a remake in the making. Probably just them reciting the lines alongside video? That'd still be interesting. Colour me shook if there's a remake though. But it also probably won't be with Kojima at the helm.
Okay, dream scenario:
MGS Ultimate Legacy Collection Plus:
Likely scenario:
A Metal Gear-branded talking tie rack.
@ShogunRok: The reunion panel is happening this Friday.
