Well, it leaked weeks ago, but now it’s official: Hot Wheels Unleashed is racing to the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on 30th September. Developed by the ever-industrious Milestone, the game will see you “drift, boost, jump, and crash on Hot Wheels’ iconic orange tracks in various single player game modes”. There’ll also be multiplayer modes, both online and offline, with split-screen support.
The press release explains: “Hot Wheels Unleashed offers players the opportunity to drive the cars as if they were playing with the die-cast toys. The gameplay includes adrenaline-filled races, an extended choice of Hot Wheels vehicles with different attributes and rarity levels that players can customize with different skins, and jaw-dropping tracks set in everyday-life locations with special track pieces and interactive items.”
There’ll be a full track editor, and you’ll be able to share your best circuits with the game’s community online. Pre-orders are open now, but you can check out an announcement trailer embedded above.

I'd love for this to be good!
Definitely going to get this.
But now I just want a new Micro Machines game.
well damn this took forever to get here.
this looks awesome!
and yes micro machines would be sweet to btw
If the graphics look close to the trailer on ps5 I might just buy it!
DAY ONE, PLEASE!
I'd love to be able to race the real cars, looks cool.
No gameplay and tbh I don't play racing games too much, Dirt 5, NFS Most Wanted 06, Burnout, Revenge, Legends and Paradise are the only ones I like so far. Got something called Xenon Racer but it was eh at best. I guess if it's anything like those and has an actual good track editor I'm up for it, though.
I hope it's not top-down. I never got the hang of racing like that.
I had some of the toy cars as a kid, they were fun to play with.
Hopefully this game will be just as good.
