Street Fighter Faves Ryu, Chun-Li Floss Their Way to Fortnite

More iconic video game characters are entering the fray in Fortnite, with Street Fighter’s iconic duo of Ryu and Chun-Li now available from the Battle Royale’s in-game shop. While the news did initially leak online, Epic Games were quick to follow up the rumours with confirmation – and a pretty awesome trailer, which you can watch above.

With regards to Ryu, the developer had the following to say: “Master of the Dragon Punch (a.k.a. ‘SHORYUKEN!’) and hailing from Japan, Ryu is ready to fight. Select between his traditional white gi, black belt, and red headband or Battle variant. Always ready for action, the Ryu Outift comes equipped with the Training Bag Back Bling and the built-in Shoryuken! Emote.”

And as for Chun-Li, here’s its official introduction: “Alongside Ryu, the self-proclaimed ‘strongest woman in the world’, Chun-Li, is ready for the competition to kneel before her. Players are sure to get (many, many) kicks out of the Chun-Li Outfit and Nostalgia Variant. As a tribute to one of gaming’s greatest arcade games, she comes equipped with the Super Cab-Masher Back Bling and built-in Lightning Kick! Emote. Complete her look with the Seven Star Flashing Flail Pickaxe.”

If you pick up the Ryu & Chun-Li Gear Bundle, then you do get some extra content to boot, including the aforementioned Seven Star Flashing Flail Pickaxe and an E. Honda-inspired Sumo Torpedo Glider. All in all, pretty cool, right?

Still can’t get me to play Fortnite, as much as I love Street Fighter. No disrespect of course.

This is the first season of Fortnite that I've decided to play, mostly because of the FOMO I got from the Marvel season.

I've spent over $100 already. I'm gonna finish up my battle pass and probably uninstall the game because I am just not the kind of person that needs to be playing f2p games.

I won't hate on the game though. It's fun and ther soooo many awesome characters, I don't even think I was ripped off because I had fun.
