Every now and then, a game releases and surprises you with its genius – and What the Dub?! is one such title. It’s a multiplayer party game for up to 12 players where you’ll be tasked with dubbing the missing dialogue from – and this is the developer’s own description – “hilariously awful B-movies, outdated PSAs, and bizarre industrial films”.
The game features over 300 clips, and your objective is to come up with the wittiest, silliest dubs imaginable. Six players will participate, while a further six players will form the “audience”, voting for their favourites. “Win the crowd over with your dubs and you’ll rack up points. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins. It’s just that easy!”
Look, something like this is clearly going to have a limited shelf life, and with coronavirus lockdowns still in full effect, you’re probably going to struggle to assemble the kind of party needed to make this fun. But once the world returns to normal, we reckon you could stage a pretty good night in around this – it’s a really fun idea, isn’t it? The game’s due out on 8th April for PlayStation 4.

party game? I think I'd just play this to amuse myself 😂
Needs more Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot.
Eh, sounds fun but I'm sticking to jackbox for my party game fix
So does it allow you to record audio via the mic or is it just restricted to that annoying pseudo-speech?
MST3K, anyone?
Ah, someone beat me to it
Will be a fun psplus game
@SAMTYLER1974 Just text-to-speech it seems!
Reminds me of Use Your Words. Everything quickly devolves into extremely hilarious sex and vulgar jokes. 🤣 😂
Who is still under lock down. That luxury has been over in the states since May of last year.
Lol I used to stream Pokemon anime to my mate and write my own subs on it. Is that a text to speech they're using, though? Whole lot better than the days of Microsoft sam...
@Ken_Kaniff the UK. Lol
With so much evolution in text to speech.. why did they think it was a good idea to make it sound like a 1982 Speak and Spell ??
Solid concept but very flawed execution in its main gameplay component.
.. also "what planet are you from?" How many people will type "Uranus" ?
@Jayofmaya Damn, I need to move.
