We’re not entirely sure how developer Atomic Wolf decided to make Fire Commander, a real-time strategy game featuring fire fighters – but well, we’re glad that boardroom brainstorming occurred. This is, from what we can see, effectively XCOM with flames, but as the title’s website explains: “Fight an enemy that you can’t kill or outpower, only outsmart.”
There will be different classes of firefighter, and you’ll need to build your relationships with them in order to survive. Along the way you’ll be able to upgrade your fire station, accept side missions, and unlock new rescue vehicles. It certainly sounds like an interesting idea; we’re not sure where the variety will come from if your primary foe is fire, but we’re eager to learn more.
The game’s scheduled to burn down PlayStation 5 and PS4 this year.

I swear I’ve seen about 3 different firefighter games be announced in the last couple of days 😂
I think this is a good idea as there aren't very many good games based on the concept. Off the top of my head I can only think of two games on the SNES that were about firefighting. If done right this could be a fun concept.
Some part of your fact checking is wrong. While the 3 seconds of gameplay looked like XCOM, you said this game is a real-time strategy game, which XCOM absolutely is not. XCOM is turn based, nothing like real time.
I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that 451 is the temperature at which paper ignites...
