What will surely rank as one of the best PlayStation Plus monthly line-ups ever is now available to download for active members. Those of you who own a PlayStation 5 can get to work on Maquette, a new first-person puzzler all about manipulating objects and editing their size. Then PS4 players have Final Fantasy VII Remake, PlayStation VR experience Farpoint, and Remnant: From the Ashes to look forward to. All three games can also be played on PS5 via backwards compatibility, of course. If you head on over to the PlayStation Store and search for each title, you'll be able to start downloading them right now.
When we polled our community over the weekend, more than 40% of over 6,000 voters said they're very happy with this month's PS Plus line-up. Seems like this is once again a very good selection from Sony, with Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII Remake proving to be far and away the most popular game of the lot. Have you started downloading your PS Plus games for March 2021? Get doing so before you post in the comments below.

I’m downloading mine already! Great month!
Looking forward to going back into Midgar and hopefully a fun Platinum in Maquette.
Don’t forget we can also download Ratchet and Clank from today also as part of Play At Home. If you don’t already have it.
I wonder how many millions of people are going to try to get the free upgrade for FFVIIR in June(?) only to see their PS+ version isn't eligible for it, then buy the game even though they already had a free copy. There might be a bit of a backlash in a few months from people who don't regularly read gaming news.
@Matroska I’m guessing there will be a way to pay for that upgrade. We’ll see in a few months time.
I can't see any mention in the description on FF7R that we don't get the free upgrade. Also it didn't even look like a different game to the digital version.
I wonder how this will work. :/
Also does anyone mind telling me what the file sizes of each game are please?
Liam, do you perhaps know if I were to play the PSPlus version of FFVII will the game save work with the digital or physical version I can buy?
I ask because if I can't upgrade to PS5 down the line I don't want to start a game on the PSPlus version.
Also from experience when I had Pro Evo on disk and then swapped to digital, the game didn't recognise my settings save file.
@KPraj that's odd. There definitely was some mention on the store at one point. There was some mention on the Japanese store before the March games were officially announced, which got mentioned on Twitter, which reinforced what was at that point just a rumour - but I did also see it on the Playstation store in English after the games were announced.
But the main place that says you can't get the free upgrade, is on the promo image for this month's PS Plus, and also the Playstation Blog, both of those do clarify that claiming the game on Plus doesn't get you a PS5 version
@KPraj 90.63 GB for FFVII, 31.36 GB for Remnant, 2.39 GB for Maquette. Yeah, that's pretty small.
@Hyperluminal it's been announced that PS4 game saves will transfer over to the PS5 version. There's no reason to think that the PS Plus version (which is just the standard PS4 version, except it's free) is any different
@danlk1ng yeah hope so, thanks. It was only my experience will Pro Evo that gave me pause for thought.
@Matroska perfect snapshot of the world we live in today. Get to play FF7 remake “free” as bonus for online subscription but predictably will be outrage that the PS5 upgrades aren’t given free either. Give an inch they’ll want a mile comes to mind. If they didn’t even release an upgrade no one would complain about their ‘freebie’.
I’m ecstatic I get this game, one I really wanted to play, and don’t have to pay a penny extra for it. Will have to wait though as in middle of Witcher 3...
@KPraj @danlk1ng it's in the description of FF7 Remake Intergrade (the PS5 version)
Just in case anyone wants to know, claiming FF7R on PS Plus doesn't lock you out from buying FF7R Intergrade on PS5. I've claimed it already and I still have the option to pre-order intergrade (I'm not going to - I'm more of a "wait till it's cheap" person, and I'll play the PS4 version in the mean time if there's no cheap upgrade option)
This is important because the PS Store specifically says that "if you own a PS4 Digital version of FF7R, you are not eligible to purchase FF7R Intergrade". FF7R PS4 owners just need to buy the Yuffie DLC to go with their "base game" PS5 version that they get for free.
I personally don't have any issue with not getting a free PS5 version (some would say it's because I'm not a massive crybaby) but it would be a bit of a pain if claiming the PS Plus version locked me out of the FF7R PS5 version altogether, so if anyone is hesistant to claim on that basis, worry not!
I'm also mildly hopeful that maybe there will be a cheap option to upgrade the PS Plus version to a PS5 base game version, but if that doesn't happen it's not the end of the world
Absolutely loving Ps Plus lately. Gona start Control this week then straight on to FF7 after that. Incredible value.
@Matroska Ouch FF is big, glad it can go on my external. Thanks
@Voltan @danlk1ng Makes sense, thanks.
Excited about Remnant! Anyone still playing???
@StonyKL
Exactly. Gamers can be incredibly entitled.
You get to play FF7Remake less than a year after it came out. You get Ratchet and Clank for free. You've gotten Control, Concrete Genie, Shadow of The Tomb Raider all this year alone and people STILL want to complain.
FF7Remake alone makes the 1 year PS Plus subscription worth it
@EverydayRobot I was blown away by Control actually. I went into with no expectations, and was amazed by the destructiveness in particular. Something I've never seen before in a game. The rest of the gameplay was ridiculously fun too.
Only thing I felt was a bit unforgiving was the revive mechanic, in certain situations.
@Netret0120 now.. Control I can understand the anger about a little bit, mainly due to the whole fuss around having to have the Ultimate Edition to upgrade to PS5 (so some Day 1 standard edition owners bought the game again specifically for the PS5 upgrade) only to find that UE for PS4 and PS5 were free (with a subscription) when the PS5 version launched.
Personally I bought the Ultimate Edition in the Black Friday sale, so for me it's just your standard "I bought a game, haven't played it, and now it's on Plus" feeling which isn't worth making a fuss over - but I do feel that the people who bought it twice got screwed over there, a little. At the end of the day though, all they had to was delay the ultimate edition until the PS5 version lauch (the UE is nothing more than the base game + DLC anyway), and that problem would have been solved.
All this "I'm not claiming FF7R cos I don't get the PS5 version" is another thing entirely though. I think it's a good thing that the people who actually paid the game get something PS Plus owners don't, even though we get the full game, and I can't understand (I've stopped trying to to be honest) the mentality of "I'm not happy with my free thing cos it's not the best possible version, even though it was a week ago"...
@StonyKL
Some people pay for the games, not the online gaming.
@KPraj Good to hear you had a blast with it. I've been looking forward to it for a while, glad I held off to enjoy it in its full Ps5 glory though. Still want to try Concrete Genie as well but honestly not enough days in the month to get through everything PS plus is throwing at us. Good Times : )
How are you guys able to download? I’m in the us and it’s still 59.99
Basically if you want the "yuffie" extra you gonna have to cough up everybody else the PS$ version is a basic cosmetic overhall comments on the live were "what is the difference................so if you got PS+ You got FF7R for the price of a PS+ for a year.
@Number09 how did you download?
@EverydayRobot how did you download?
@Siumalachi you might just have to wait a bit - I was seeing exactly the same thing earlier in the day. Push Square is UK based I think, the US store might not have been updated yet
Some cracking games this month to think people can pay £6.99 for one month and get FF7 remake and 3 other good games is great value. I just purchased another year of PS PLUS as the game offerings every month now are top notch.
N.i.c.e will definitely download final fantasy remake.i already beat remnant from the ashes last year.amazing game.i will get the dlc.word up son
@Siumalachi yeah I've just had a look at the US store web page. Doesn't seem to have been updated yet. Patience - they'll get to it soon. If it's any consolation it's earlier in the day where you are so you haven't been waiting as long today
@Ear_wiG. I beat it last year.amazing game.remnant from the ashes and nioh are the 2 best souls like games ever.i will get remnant dlc.word up son
Presume I am not alone in needing this question answered... I have lent my physical copy of ff7 to my brother and haven’t been able to get it back yet. Does anyone know if I download the psplus version I’m not going to have issues getting my free ps5 upgrade am I?
@Siumalachi they are overseas. Sony refreshes their stores in staggered zones. So me being on the East Coast my store refreshes 11am.
I'm not going to claim the digital ps plus version of ff7 as I will be locked out of the upgrade plus I don't need it as I already have it on disc so I'll use my disc and play the ps5 version that way when I get one eventually.
@Toph6661 you are going to need the disc version to get the ps5 upgrade but still I'm worried that it's gonna lock me out so I'm not downloading any digital version right now.
@Siumalachi Are you in the United States of America.........these are United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Times...........yo gonna have to wait anothe 4 hours sorry bout that.
Link for later when it actually does go live. 😝

Edit: Let me do it around 1PM Eastern on my PS4. Only 8 hours to go on my 300Mbps internet. Normally faster than that, I think Sony may be slower than normal right now.
It still wont let me download these games for free. Is there a certain time they will become available?
FYI - these didn't show as free for me on a browser on PC but they did show up as free on the PS app on my mobile. (I'm in the UK)
So I’ve held off on playing/buying FF7 in anticipation for this PS5 version coming in June - Never did I imagine the PS4 edition would be free!
The problem is I can’t in good faith let this “free” game sit there until June only for me to purchase the game again for PS5
Should I just play the game for free on ps+? Potentially not returning for the dlc because I’d have to buy the whole game again
Or should I wait for the complete PS5 edition with new content and pay over $60 to experience it!?
@Siumalachi Same here. I was able to get Ratchet and Clank and also Maquette but cant get Remnant or FF7.
Adding FF7 was a shocker...
But the Plus+ version can't be upgraded on PS5.
So Square probably sees this Plus+ release as more of a glorified Demo.
They're only doing this, so people start the game and then buy again later on PS5.
Not to mention this series will probably be finished on PS5 anyway, so there's that.
On the upside, people can check out the game and then transfer your save to PS5.
I’m pretty stoked to get FF7 for free since I was always going to buy it at some point. I haven’t played FF properly since FFX. I’m not overly worried about the slight improvement that will come with the PS5 version and I’m sure the dlc will become pretty cheap after some time.
@playstation1995 Good to hear. I’m hoping they’ll be a lot of folks on Remnant since it’s free! Co-op is the way to go. For your Remnant
As soon as ps5 edition of FF7 was announced, the vultures at Amazon pushed the price up for a ps4 copy from 22 pound to 57. AO fortunately stayed the same and thus for 22 quid I now have a new ps5 game in June.
PS plus edition is all well and nice but you miss out on the next gen experience. Buy a cheap copy that's my advice.
@2cents but a cheap copy of the ps4 game and do the free upgrade when it comes out.
I already own FF7 Remake and don't care for the other games, but hope everyone has a fun time!
@huyi taken a month to see your comment but thanks for trying! Haha. Yeah I have the disc from launch but I’m worried I will have locked myself out now I’ve downloaded.... can hope they thought of this!
