Sony San Diego’s dropped another Q&A video – this time focused on MLB The Show 21’s fielding. The main takeaway here, if we’re being honest with you, is that the mechanics have received a complete top-to-bottom overhaul. That includes balls off the wall, a particular point of criticism in previous entries. In the above video, Ramone Russell explains that hundreds of new animations have been added to the title.
He also continues that the on boarding process for new players has been revised, while new indicators should make diving catches much clearer to perform. Sounds like some good improvements, but obviously this is the kind of thing you need to experience first-hand. Nevertheless, another Feature Premiere is planned for later in the week, and we’re looking forward to the breakdown of what’s been improved.

Thank the Lord, fielding is the one low point of the previous entries. Hopefully there are less bizarre animation glitches that result in you giving away home runs.
Hopefully, after all these years, outfielders can't just smash straight into the wall at full speed and be completely fine, coming up with the catch. But....I'm not counting on any changes there.
... the whole marketing of this game with the puppets is absolute genius.. so memorable, informative, fun and really makes you want to buy it! Haven't played a version for YEARS, so this might be the one to get me back into it!
