Sony San Diego has officially confirmed MLB The Show 21’s Stadium Creator, which leaked earlier in the game’s marketing cycle. Surprisingly, this feature will be exclusive to the next-gen versions of the title, so while you’ll be able to build your own ballpark on the PlayStation 5, the feature will be absent from the PlayStation 4 release. We’ve no idea how that will work during cross-platform play, to be honest.
A brand new trailer also showcases the first next-gen footage of the title, which looks nice – although perhaps not the massive leap forward we’d anticipated. The game will run at 60 frames-per-second in 4K, and will feature full DualSense support on Sony’s new console. You can check out the first footage above.

Yeah, I’d assume either you can’t play online with these stadiums or only in matches between next-gen consoles. I’m looking forward to this a lot but I’d much prefer to play it on a PS5 so hopefully I can grab one from this week’s drop.
Well if the PS5 version is $70 and the PS4 version $60 at least that kind of works itself out then. 🤷♂️
I guess no one will use that feature then.
@Playstation
I use to buy yearly for PlayStation up till last year for franchise mode Road to the Show and in my eyes it was worth it.
@Playstation I’ve bought the last couple of games and each one has seen some decent improvements but since next-gen was always within touching distance, I’d assume they’re gearing up for a big overhaul.
@Playstation
To add i would wait till around midseason or world series time if your looking to pick it up on sale
I think we can stop calling the PS5 and Series X next Gen as they are now current gen. They were current gen the moment the got released to the public. PS4 and Xbox One are now last gen.
@Tasuki To be fair not many people have a PS5 yet and anyone who wants one will have a better chance of discovering concrete proof that Sasquatch exists than finding a PS5 lol.
Woooooooooooot!!!! Finally a reason to buy The Show again; last purchase was the first one on PS4.
By the way, that ad is awesome.
So no raytracing, I was kind of hoping the PS5 version would be much closer to photorealism. Might skip this year and wait. I usually do the sports games every couple of years anyway.
@TowaHerschel7 What you just said made no sense. It doesn't matter if you owe on or not what matters is is it available to the public. And before you say it's hard to find one that doesn't matter either. It's out for sale it's current gen now not next gen. Next gen would be PS6.
Why are they leaving the last gen xbox users and ps4 users hanging by saying it’s only available for the current gen counsels i was really looking forward to this feature.
