Unlike in real-life under current coronavirus lockdown restrictions, London will be free to explore in Watch Dogs Legion this weekend, as Ubisoft launches a trial scheduled to run from 25th March to 29th March. As part of the promotional period you’ll be able to explore half of the city’s boroughs, progress the story “up to the Skye Larson mission”, and enjoy some of the online content that was recently added to the release.
The title will also be on sale on the PlayStation Store beginning 24th March through 31st March, and if you choose to purchase the full thing, your progress will carry across. Pre-loads for the trial will go live tomorrow on PlayStation 5 and PS4, so you won’t waste any time downloading the title if you want to get involved. Will you be checking this out at all?

Well now I don't have to waste $30+ dollars to make fun of this game.
So here is a free trial....but next week we will be selling it for £8...i enjoyed the first game but i always felt that ubisoft didnt really know what to do with the amazing city they had built..for all the population it felt...empty..
No way I’d go near this game.
Hi all, just here to bring some rare positivity to a Ubisoft article. This game is good fun. Bye.
Wow, so much hate for Watchdogs. I'm not a huge fan of the series so I didn't buy this but I'll gladly check it out for free.
The city of London is beautifully realised and the gameplay is great but sadly it’s wasted on the the writing and characters, which are absolutely atrocious. The less I say about the accents the better (borderline offensive). Luckily you can skip the cutscenes by holding the circle button. A game trying to be ‘down with the kids’ and failing miserably.
Being a Ubisoft game, I'd hate to see the download size. Not worth the time for a weekend.
Enjoyed 1, Loved 2, but the more I saw of this the more I never wanted to play it, but will def give the free trial a shot
Still a no from me I’m afraid. Gameplay and narrative does not look enticing at all
Can we just appreciate how Ubisoft flopped hard on quality going into next gen!? They literally had the premier position to provide polished and sexy games for PS5 & SeriesX instead we got bargain bin experiences you couldn’t make me play for free
This games voice actors give me stomach ache
I'll get it once they release 60fps ray traced mode similar to Miles Morales. I find it too hard to play 30fps now that I have been spoiled with 60fps.
A free turd is still a turd.
Fantastic, so I don't have to waste any money and just try it out.
@2cents
Immortals is good though...
not sure why this got such bad press... it was awesome!
not a gem, but better than the 5 out of 10 score these folks gave it. It was very good imo... i mean you could play that cyberPunk junk box or maybe AC valhalla bugville game lol. This game was flawless compared to those heaping piles.
@SZRT_CIC_Ice Immortals is sadly overlooked alot for being too cartoony/childish looking.
I enjoyed this game, and hope others who haven't played it come into the game with an open mind!
@KidBoruto immortals is good fun..somebody on another post described it as souless and by the numbers,oh on rails too..an open world game thats on rails no less..i really like it but i guess the hate sheep that have on rail imaginations just have to keep up with the herd...
Is anyone else watching their HDD capacity on the PS5? Mine's almost topped out already and Outriders will drop at the end of the month.
So I doubt I'll be checking out WDL this weekend even thought I've bee following news and reviews of the game online.
It's a great game, rendered London is spectacular, take a cargo drone over the whole city for a sight-seeing treat, and even hop non the London eye! Oh, and it looks lush and runs at a locked 30fps on PS5. last-gens so-called "30fps" Watch Dogs games ran between 20-30, this is locked @30 and runs really smoothly. I was surprised at how nice it looks in motion, very different from "targeted" 30fps, which generally drops frames all over the place. It's about 35GB of SSD space.
Any idea where the trial is to be found on the store? The apparent lack of a demos section on the PS5 does not aid matters.
I know this game is not supposed to be that great, but I've still been tempted by it for a while, mainly for the sightseeing aspect and touring around a semi-faithful recreation of London. The lack of a main character is disappointing, but also strangely appealing at the moment, as my gaming time is little to non-existent right now, so not having much of a story/main character to become invested in isn't perhaps so bad.
Watch Dogs 2 was so, so good and in spite of the active player base seems sort of harshly looked upon I reckon.
@Vacuumator
It should be underneath Add To Cart.
If not, then you'll have to wait until maybe Friday night/Saturday morning.
the original watchdogs game i love . and i go back to it often. i love finding everything in the game and the story is like a good action movie. il check the single player campaign out when this is 20 quid or so.
I enjoyed this on the PS5. Even got the platinum on it.
"PS5 Free Weekend Trial users will download and play the PS4 version of the game."
https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/game/watch-dogs/legion/free-weekend
Disappointing.... Still will try it out anyway.
Has anyone in the UK been able to do the trial? I can't find it on the PS5 store
@Waluigi999
I found it through the phone app. I couldn't find it on the PS5 store, I'd guess because the trial is the ps4 version only it won't show in the store(?)
@normanself
Thanks mate, you were right, it's on the PS app. Sony should sort that out
@Northern_munkey Yeah I've never understood the hate for Immortals either...I plan to pick it up soon as Complete Edition with all DLC is $25.
So hopefully sometime in 2022.
Really enjoyed the free play. Put a few hours in. Decided to buy the game. It lost my save and I had to start over. FFS
