Whether or not the latest round of PlayStation Home speculation results in the return of Sony’s virtual world, a group of Dreams developers are hoping to revive the idea within Media Molecule’s creation engine. Dreams Central, an upcoming fan project, is wildly ambitious – pledging a social space for release in 2022.

As it stands, creators can’t add online multiplayer components to their Dreams, but this is something the British developer has promised to add at a later date. Whether it’ll be possible to create an online social hub remains up for debate, but clearly the developers already have the framework in place, with playable minigames like bowling and an entire plaza to explore.
