The new Apple iOS 14.5 system software has released, and it includes official DualSense support, meaning you’ll be able to pair your PlayStation 5 pad with your iPhone or iPad and use it to play games. This is particularly useful if you use Sony’s Remote Play app at all, which allows you to stream PS5 and PS4 games direct to your device.
iOS already supports the DualShock 4, but this additional option is appreciated – especially if you prefer the ergonomics of Sony’s next-gen controller. If you’re curious what other updates are included in the system software, you can browse Apple’s official blog post on the subject through here – or you could just ask Siri, we suppose.

Will ios games support hepatic feedback, adaptive trigger on dualsense ?
If yes. Then ps5 just lost a unique feature
Yes! New iPad arrived yesterday. Perfect timing!
Are there any ios games thats support the haptics, etc? I want to try it on my ipad/iphone 😃
@Classic_console As far as I know (I tried 14.5 beta for several weeks), iOS does not support any of this features, neither for Remote Play nor for other apps. If you want all DualSense features with with Remote Play, you must connect your controller directly to your console instead to your iPhone. This is tricky, if you wish I will tell you how to pass by Sony‘s restrictions.
@Max_the_German apparently this is a matter of Sony updating the remote play app now. I read that it already works on macOS.
@Voltan I had the impression that is has something to do with the iOS controller subsystem, specifically the Mfi controller functionality, while macOS has a more generic controller support.
I was so pissed yesterday morning. I had bought a controller mount for my PS5 controller over the weekend thinking iOS already supported PS5 controllers, but when I tried to hook it up it wasn't recognized. And I was steaming mad.
Then a Google later and I saw the iOS update was adding it. "Oh geez, when is THAT coming," I thought... only to find out it was literally releasing like 2 hours later. Updated immediately and works fine.
What a whirlwind that was for me. Lolol
Would be able to play the Everybody's (Clap Hanz) Golf using a Playstation controller...if I bought into the Apple ecosystem...which I don't.
@MFTWrecks that seems like fate to me, good timing on buying that mount.
@hoffa007 I'm stoked to try Oceanhorn 2 and Sayonara Wild Hearts and a few other titles. (I'm new to iOS so I've missed a lot of Arcade games.)
I don’t tote my PS5 controller around because I have a few PS4 controllers. Use my controller every day for Remote Play. Maybe I’ll start using the PS5 controller.
And yet after all these years, Steam still doesn't officially support DualShock controllers, despite massive numbers of people using them.
Will wait for Android support next which IMHO is a much better OS.
i only got an ios device recently. there are a handful of ios exclusives i would consider playing — fantasian is at the top of my list... there is also a new hot shots golf game and the follow- up to journey (sky) which may never get a ps4 release? pretty cool you can natively tether a ps4 controller to the device to greatly improve the experience.
@Classic_console
No. But this is more use for ps5 remote play on your phone I think.
