While we wait for Sony to announce June 2021’s free PS Plus games, it’s worth remembering that online multiplayer is free on both the PlayStation 5 and PS4 for the rest of the weekend. That means, even if you’re not a subscriber, you can compete online in titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Knockout City, or Gran Turismo Sport for the rest of the day. Heck, in the case of the latter title, you may just have enough time left to qualify for the actual Olympics – but be quick!
The free weekend period will conclude at the end of today, 23rd May, but if you have fun playing online then it’s worth remembering that PS Plus subscriptions will be discounted during Days of Play, which is slated to get underway on 26th May. Have you hopped into any multiplayer titles to take advantage of the free PS Plus period? Get connected in the comments section below.

Had a good session on GT Sport early this morning, and it seemed there were many more online than I'd see as usual, so even though I have an active PS Plus subscription for now, I'm grateful for the added players this weekend.
Explains why Everybody's Golf was absolutely rammed yesterday!
Will keep an eye out to see how much the PS+ subscriptions are going for on ShopTo.Net as they are usually cheaper than the Sony offers - currently £42.85 for a year.
Don't even know what to play because I'm so used to SP. I guess it'd be RDO, GTAO - practically the only games I've played online since forever, then probably try some others.
Got an in box message when I turned on my PS4 last night offering me 20% off a 3 month or 12 month PS+ subscription. Coupon expires Thursday and my current 12 month ends in June. Not sure if I get it or not, maybe I'll see if I want anything this month. Or see how many games I have that I still need to play.
Shouldn't have to pay in the first place
Have plus for the games, but wish they’d just split out the online service as a seperste charge as I very rarely use it. Or just make it free. Surely as micro transactions have increased, and service games grown, the engagement and money brought about by online play with friends, selling skins etc, just pays for itself now.
@sanderson72 Rumour has it the price will be -30%. Take it with a grain of salt, but it's worth waiting a few days to see.
@rjejr You can find it online cheaper than that if you're in the US, anyway. 20% matches what I can find currently for the UK, though.
Feels like a big push for Knockout City. It's pasted on the front page if the store and also free online whilst the trial period is also on.
I have psplus but only for cloud save and psn monthly games / discount lol.
@rjejr Just buy 1 year psplus on cdkeys.com for about $30, it's cheaper compared to psn. Edit: it's $38 now.
I predict that online multiplayer will be free again in the next 5 to 10 years. Consoles can't justify an online tax when the worlds biggest MP games are free to play
lol at the few comments for this article , no one plays online here haha
@Would_you_kindly agreed, how did we get bamboozled into "multiplayer is FREE for ps plus members"?. Imagine living in a society, and they charge you for water....... oops already happening....
Yesterday was lagging like hell in Battlefield V, but that’s probably more to do with that horrendous game than PS Plus as a service
@MakersMark Much as I'm a fan of current Xbox incarnation, we do have them to thank for this nonsense. Sony followed in their footsteps when they proved people were mindless and would pay. Then Nintendo followed Sony and we're stuck with it. I'm surprised Epic hasn't tried it on PC...
@Jayofmaya Thanks for the heads up. I'll see what discount Sony offer and then pop over onto ShopTo.Net as they're normally about 10-15% cheaper than Sony's sale price.
@rjejr Oooh, you're in that Catch-22 situation now! Should you renew with a 20% discount and hope that a 30% discount doesn't appear in a few days? Or do you wait, and then find that it's only had a 10% reduction? Aaargh!
Personally, as Sony want £50 and ShopTo are already selling it for £42.85, I think I'd wait.
@MakersMark if only there was enough backlash back when Xbox started Xbox live gold we might never have got to this point
@sanderson72 Two months ago I was checking some gray area website - CDkeys - almost every day that was offering PS+ for about $29. But every time I'd add it to my cart would be $3 or $5 more. So I'm done w/ CDkeys. I like Newegg, they have PS+ on sale a lot for $40, but I just may pay the $48 and call it a day, close enough. Or not. Or wait until Black Friday. 🤷♂️
CDkeys thread, I'm like 60% of the 62 posts. Funny enough, your 1 and only post is right before my next 40. 🤣

@Jayofmaya Thanks, consensus seems to be for me to wait, so I might. I know better deals will come, sometimes it's just easier to get it over with. Difference between $48 or $40 may be worth getting it done since my PS+ expires next week. Though knowing me I'll probably forget before it expires. Sieve for brains.
@wiiware You can read up on my CDkeys adventure 2 months ago here.

tl;dr I tried several times, didn't work, done w/ CDkeys. Though I still may hold off and wait on another sale elsewhere less gray area, NewEgg, or worst case Black Friday almost anywhere.
@rjejr I know what you mean. A site called Instant Gaming was selling rather cheap and I had a browse, then of course they followed me here and advertised it even cheaper at like £38 for a UK 1 year sub so I clicked thinking I'll bite for that price! Then the page loaded and £42 it was... Was gonna message them and see if I could get a discount for false advertisement but didn't bother trying in the end haha
@Jayofmaya Yeah, it's not that $4 matters, but don't advertise 1 price and charge me another. Makes me suspicious.
If I do spend the $48 on the PSN store it's b/c I trust them and I have a new PS credit card. If they screw it up I can probably get it solved.
So $48 is good, but do I need it now or can I play all those "At Home" games until Black Friday when I can probably get it for $30? If all the At Home games - 3 VR games I want to play - were on PS+ I'd probably do it.
