Now that Dying Light 2 has a confirmed release date, it's time for all the pre-order rigmarole. The game is available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store right now for either PS5 or PS4, with three different digital editions available. It's the Ultimate Edition we'll be focusing on for the purpose of this article though, which confirms Techland has at least two pieces of DLC in the works. Purchasing this particular version grants you access to an "expansion pass with two extra stories" — something that shouldn't come as a surprise to fans of the first game.
Costing £87.99/$99.99, the Ultimate Edition includes everything the cheaper Deluxe Edition contains alongside crafting items, wallpapers, a digital comic, and a two-hour Night XP Boost. This all follows in the same footsteps as the original title and reinforces comments made by Techland more than a year ago. Dying Light: The Following was the first game's biggest expansion, but it was also supplemented with other content drops for a supremely impressive six years.
When we interviewed lead game designer Tymon Smektala all the way back in late 2019, he said: "I don't want to spill the beans too much but yes there will be huge expansions, and yes there will be a lot of additional drops, free content, additional missions, weapons, and gameplay mechanics that you will be able to get by just investing your time in Dying Light 2 and just being part of the community." This Expansion Pass seems to be the beginning of that promise.

Absolutely I will.
Although would prefer the physical version if it is available.
@ankehuber There's a physical version of the Deluxe Edition which includes the first expansion, but you'd need to buy the Collector's Edition to get the DLC pass for both. Obviously, you could just buy the physical Deluxe Edition and then the second DLC separately, though.
@LiamCroft it is my favourite game of all time so I could be tempted by the Collectors Edition, although living in a small apartment space is at a premium so I might go for your second option.
Thanks!
Ha! I’ll be waiting for the Dying Light 2 Platinum edition for $25 with EVERYTHING
It's £55 for the standard edition... Beautiful pricing!
Hope there's a complete edition like the first one. With DLC on disc!!
Considering I actually enjoyed The Following expansion more than the main game itself (which was crazy good!) I may be tempted paying out for ultimate Edition..
Sort of a shame PushSquare left this thread up top, and buried the one with the gameplay video. Video is awesome, and makes today a great one-two punch for the future of gaming.
So wait for a discount then, note taken, god knows how many goty and anniversary editions this will get lol
@2cents yes! Excatly, having to pay for a collector's edition to get both expansions for physical is a expensive joke 😂😂😂
Have we seen anything from the game already? I have not seen a lot of gameplay besides a trailer from a long time ago in going to wait for some reviews and new gameplay first.
@2cents Same here! Patient gamers ftw....but we will have to wait a few years.
