Watch Dogs Legion’s previously promised 60 frames-per-second update for PlayStation 5 will begin rolling out on 1st June. This is all part of the release’s revised roadmap, which will also see the addition of pensioner Helen as a new playable operative and cross-gen multiplayer between PS5 and PS4. Ubisoft’s also promising a “surprise”, but apparently more on that will be revealed closer to the time.
To be fair, the French publisher has committed to some pretty strong post-release support here. Expansion pack Bloodline – which sees the return of Aiden ‘Iconic’ Pearce and Wrench – will launch in July, followed by Assassin’s Creed crossover content in August. You’ll need the Season Pass to enjoy those, of course.
Don’t worry if you’re just looking for more things to do in London without paying a premium, though – the series’ popular Invasion and Extraction multiplayer modes will return in August as well, alongside various other game improvements and an Assassin’s Creed world event that everyone will be able to partake in.

An “uncle creeping into my bedroom at 2am smelling of booze” kind of surprise as opposed to a Valiant Hearts kind of surprise, I assume.
Wondering if this will be a 60fps mode with or without RT. 🧐 Would love something similar to Spider-man’s RT implementation
I’m kinda curious about the Assassin’s Creed stuff. Potentially they could set this up for the next Watch Dogs being essentially a modern-day AC game. Which would be pretty cool, I liked the Desmond bits in AC3 when you ran around Rio de Janeiro and stuff.
Hopefully we can see some new content for single player and PS4 too in the next couple of months
@nessisonett I am also extremely curious about that... the things is, I don't see how it can be a win for me :
I guess we'll see, but in theory, I'd be down for a good tentative at bringing AC to the modern day (hoping it's a looooot better than anything we got in the last 3 games!)
How about you surprise me and fix those glitched trophies ubisoft, that'll be best surprise ever
Oh an, old lady to play as, yay... 🙄
Really enjoyed WD2 despite how corny and bad Ubisoft writing is. Not sure exactly why, but that charm wasn't there when I tried the WDL demo a few months back.
@Icey664
Yes, the addition of a playable pensioner does seem a slightly odd selling point.
I got the season pass at launch on impulse so i guess i'm covered for all this, wish the game looked and ran better on base PS4 though.
So i bought the season pass mainly for the watch dogs complete edition that i thought was on ps5 lol maybe thats the surprise.
Side note: am i the only one who didnt play a pensioner in the main game? I stuck to my spy, contruction worker and hitman
I don't think Watch Dogs Legion ever knew what it wanted to be, and it still doesn't. Pre-launch it wanted to come across as serious and political with its setting and story. But then Ubisoft was also keen to show off "wacky" gameplay with old women who could die at random. Now that same selling point is being used to promote post-launch updates.
Just feels like the game never had a strong identity, from the outside looking in.
Really want to play this for the London setting but given how much people seem to dislike the campaign I really can’t warrant buying before it’s heavily discounted. Shame. The very essence of Watch Dogs has so much potential.
Wouldn’t play this game if they paid me.
@ShogunRok Agreed. This could be extended to the series as a whole. Watch Dogs has always been a great idea since the first teasers, but it never quite realized its ambitions, trying too hard to fit GTA within Ubisoft-open-world formula.
The story itself was crud but I had some good fun along the way. I found a character i liked with some good skills and just used her throughout most of the game as a main protagonist. Loved doing those fight clubs.
@itsfoz I got it for 20€ already. But I thought the same as you before. I can tell you, give it a try. It's pretty awesome and way better than most people say. That's for the WD series in general.
I already have the season pass. Looking forward to playing Aidn
Maybe it could add the “fun” dlc sometime in July
GAME sell the Ultimate Edition for £34.99 and will give you £13 for the base game as credit so you can upgrade for just £21.99, which it’s about £12 less than buying it normally.
@itsfoz didnt dislike the campaign tho I didnt love it either. Main issue is the selling point. Playing as many characters is a neat idea but it also means the story has to account for it. You cant give the antagonists character because they could be talking to a different person each time and the player characters tend to go on accents. My spy was a balding man with a comic cockney accent and a tendancy to say Bugger which usually destroys any serious point the game tried to make. There is one villain who should have been the only one and thats Sky Larson. Her story and plan was the highlight honestly
This game is going to end up ruining Plus' free game selection one month in the near future, isn't it?
I guess I'm the only person who genuinely connected with WDL. I truly loved every minute of it. I only experienced one major glitch and it never repeated. I've got the platinum already and I can't wait to do a 2nd play through. I'm just impatiently checking my watch while I wait for the rest of the DLC to drop.
However, we're getting the old lady? Erm.... 🤔 Okay. The marketing for this game is just bizarre.
I'm looking forward more to the paid Story DLCs, but free 60 fps performance mode is always welcome!
