A new update pushed for PlayStation 4 remaster Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning allows the RPG to run at a native 4K resolution when played via backwards compatibility on PS5. Made available yesterday, it's patch 1.08 you need to be on the lookout for. The download also provides extra stability improvements, visual glitch fixes, and enhanced controller sensitivity. Some broken quests should also now be working.
A long list of bugs was one of the criticisms we had of Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning back when we reviewed it last year. "Re-Reckoning isn't a great remaster, but there's no denying that Kingdoms of Amalur is still a lot of fun to play. Its action-based combat has stood the test of time, and exploring its often whimsical world is enjoyable. If you can look past the clunky presentation and fairly frequent bugs, you'll find an ample high fantasy adventure." At least the game now looks better than ever on PS5.

Nice, only picked a copy of this up the other day!
Now I only need a ps5 and the game...
A 60fps mode would be great on this,I always remember using daggers,they where very satisfying.
This game deserved a sequel. It did a lot right for a first entry from a new dev team that clearly had a passion for the world they created and the gameplay systems they built.
@vapidwolf It is 60 FPS
Looks lovely and is buttery smooth on the Pro so can imagine it can only be better on the 5.
Still enjoying this game despite the clunky character models but the combat is fun!
Tried this out for a few hours a couple weeks ago but ended up returning it. Feels like something I would have enjoyed back in college when I had hours and hours of free time. For some reason it seemed like it was asking for too much of my time but was too dated to deserve it.
I bought a physical copy very early, because I thought this might be a lower print run. Then there was reports of serious bugs, so I delayed playing it. But the game is everywhere for $20 now, so I really should have waited a few months...
Great timing - I was ready for some high fantasy action with Dark Alliance coming out today, but after reading reviews I’m going to hold off. Kingdoms of Amalur in 4K and Vermintide 2 will have to do for now.
Is that patch for ps4 also? or just ps5?
So what happened to that DLC they said was coming out in 2021?
Awesome. I was hoping they would do this before the expansion.
Those stealth kills with daggers are brutal.
@Ilovecoffee still waiting on that too.
Hopefully they didn't silently cancel future dlc. Possibly turned into a new game, similar to how saints row 4 was born?
@orson noice
@AndyKazama @Ilovecoffee DLC turned into a sequel would be cool but prob not happening...
@MFTWrecks We do have the story DLC which should still be releasing in 2021, unless it was delayed or canceled.
