Madden NFL 22’s cover athlete – alongside, we assume, first gameplay details – will be revealed on 17th June. A teaser trailer uploaded to the franchise’s various social media accounts show a goat and a kid, which would seemingly corroborate rumours that quarterbacks Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes are set to front this year’s release.
The trailer also features a cameo from former Madden NFL 12 cover star Peyton Hillis, who won a competition bracket to grace the box art. It’s possible, then, that if the rumours about Brady and Mahomes aren't correct, EA Sports may hold a contest to decide this year’s athlete. All will be revealed on 17th June, we suppose – unless, of course, the details leak beforehand.

Way too late to hold a cover vote at this stage!
Wow, I was not expecting a new madden this year
Maybe they will decide to paint over the Madden '19 banners this year. But might require an extra dollar or two in dev costs.
Sorry but EA Sports and specially NFL and other sport agency's don't deserve to get a single cent from me.
Not a Madden fan, and despise that they still own the exclusive NFL "simulation" license. But after taking a few years off, I thoroughly enjoyed M21 on next-gen (a better game than on PS4/XOne). Hope they can at least build on that game with more momentum-based physics, next-gen graphics overhaul, improved animations, and improved AI (that last one is a joke) ...
@eagletrippin The Madden game I played had solid AI and could imagine it being great. Sadly that was Madden 95.
That goat photo would be the goat cover
