Marvel’s Avengers’ slow path to redemption will perhaps reach make-or-break point with the Black Panther update due in August, but in the meantime Square Enix is keeping things ticking with its previously announced Cosmic Cube update. This will get underway from 22nd June, and will introduce a new Villain Sector named Beating the Odds, where you’ll attempt to take down the Scientist Supreme in a dramatic new environment.
In addition to the Villain Sector, a new event named Cosmic Threat will run from 24th June to 8th July, and will see you taking on fresh missions across the globe. There’ll be a fair number of rewards up for grabs – you can read more about those through here – including an animated team nameplate to commemorate the occasion. Is this enough to pull you back in?

After all this time, I am still amazed at how they managed to botch this game... it was so easy a project, it's really baffling!
Thankfully we have Spider-Man over here at Playstation, because frankly there is not a lot of good superheroes games on the horizon...
@Olmaz Guardians of the Galaxy at least looks pretty promising. I was actually kind of surprised at the Square conference yesterday
when the Spider-Man character eventually launches, exclusive to ps, everybody will be like, oh yeah.. Spider-Man.. Wow.. Contrary to when he was announced, and everybody thought this game would be good.
This game is fun if you play it alone just through the main story and delete it right after.
Will this game even make it to the Spidey launch???
It's sad they are obligated to carry on working on this game, so much wasted time and resources that could go to making something else
They need to do a 180 with this game fast like Bethesda did with fallout 76, otherwise it will just be another anthem
Few games seem to generate as many inane comments as this one. Thanks to Marvel's Avengers, I now know that it's simplicity itself to create a big budget licensed multi-platform game, and that the reason the Stranger Of Paradise demo didn't work is probably because Square Enix's resources being tied up assembling Avengers updates. If nothing else, this game truly generates pearls of wisdom in the comment section.
This game was an enjoyable single player romp through parts of the Marvel Universe with lots of nice callbacks stretching as far back as Lee and Kirby's Captain America run, to keep old comic book dorks like me amused. Some of the character designs are wonky, but others, particularly Kamala, are excellent. The game has received multiple free updates and I have never felt compelled to either play multiplayer or spend money on it beyond the price of the game itself. What on earth is the problem?
@TheFrenchiestFry I'm still on the fend for GotG... Single-player and no MTX are good things, but what I've seen in the trailer and the gameplay looked quite cringy, repetitive and unwieldy.
I'd say we're still early, as we've just seen the reveal, but the game is due in October, so there's very little chance of drastic changes.
I guess we'll see in October...
I'm still semi interested in this game...but waiting for all of the Expansions to drop first.
