Resident Evil Village will be treated to some post-launch DLC at some point in the future. That's it. That's the article. The E3 2021 livestream dedicated a stretch of its broadcast to Japanese publisher Capcom, and just about the only piece of news worth sharing is that last month's survival horror hit will be expanded upon. No details were shared besides the following text: "By popular demand, development has just started on additional DLC for Resident Evil Village. More info later." In other words: please be excited.
How do you hope Capcom expands on the game? Should it focus on a particular character or expand the village itself and introduce a new area? Post your hopes and dreams in the comments below.

Easily the worst Conference that was there.
Seems odd that they wouldn’t have started earlier. You’d expect a dlc plan these days
‘Start as you mean to go on’ pretty much sums up this Capcom presentation.
I’ve turned it off - can’t watch any more.
Why did they even bother with this presentation 😂
@Xenomorph_79 I mean if they just started it due to popular demand I think it’s a little questionable to say they lied. They clearly didn’t have any initial plans for it.
I’m hoping they do something with the Ada stuff they cut from the game.
That Capcom one is by definition a 0 out of 10. They literally showed nothing new.
Worst conference I think I've ever seen. Saying future dlc for village doesn't make me want to keep the game. No excitement at all.
I fully understand why Sony don't bother with E3. What a crock of *****!
What.....what did i just watch.....i could have been playing Ratchet!!! E3 is a busted flush. Nintendo will probably bring it tomorrow, but i see no reason why Sony should be concerned for not attending. What a disaster
As long as it's bundled in ON DISC if there's a future re-release, I'm fine with it.
On one hand, I'm immensely excited about The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, MH Stories 2 still looks gorgeous, and MH Rise is a ton of fun.
On the other hand, almost literally no new information.
At least it's still better than that embarrassing Square-Enix presentation.
@Xenomorph_79 I’m confused. Why would they need to sell me the game again? Are you thinking you won’t be able to play the DLC with the current game purchase???
@Col_McCafferty Yes, Sony don’t attend E3 because Capcom had a bad presentation. What incredible logic.
I'm excited to be getting some more content for one of my favourite games
@FatalBubbles If they cut it from the game then its a lie.
@nessisonett No dont do it because its waste of money.
@nessisonett The funny thing is that if Microsoft abandoned E3 and Sony did a full show, you know the talking points about E3 being irrelevant from fanboys would be reversed.
I feel bad for buying the game now.
I gotta say, the "by popular demand" bit really gets me. Like they really weren't planning on releasing DLC for this, but, there was such an outcry for paid post-launch content that they finally buckled and said: "Y'know what? Stop work on whatever else it is you're doing. We're going to listen TO THE PEOPLE and develop DLC for this title, because that's just the sort of company we are. 4 the gamers!"
I'll just get the inevitable complete edition that comes with all of the DLC in a year or two.
Still waiting for MH: Rise PC info (with actual co-op voice chat)
Buying MH: Stories 2. But lets be honest - not something most care about. MH: Stories HD did not even matter on Mobile.
Village DLC is good news - love the game (GOTY list) happy for more
Awful presentation
I cannot believe we will actually struggle to pick the worst showcase this E3. Koch, Gearbox, Capcom...I mean sweet Christmas this has been awful. I want my time refunded
Village is my GOTY so far. I’m on my third play through on village of shadows difficulty with infinite STAKE; still having a blast with the game. And the story is just so good! Game of the Year!
Fantastic game! DLC = Sold!
@nessisonett Ah, upset that Scotland lost to the Czechs?
😝
Almost every show has been dire and the one everyone thought was great (Xbox) did nowt for me. Sony are much better off not being part of this ***** show.
That presentation was trash and teasing future dlc without nothing to show was lame af.
Capcom could've done better only to s*** the bed.
Come on Capcom, don’t get me wrong I’m definitely getting that Ace Attorney game but… what was even the point? 😑
Wow... That was bad. With the ability to stream any thing. Companies don't have to try any more. It barely cost them anything to host a digital livestream, so everyone any one and their mom can host a E3. Before they actually had to fight and grab a slot in a Microsoft, Nintendo, or Sony conference.
I'm good with pointless one off DLC for RE games. I'd so much rather have Directors Cut versions of RE2 and RE3 with added content. I'd easily pay full price for RE2make with proper A/B campaigns and RE3 with a classic Mercenaries mode and not the gimpy Village mode.
This E3 has been the biggest disappointment since… having no E3 whatsoever last year. Only more so!
@Flaming_Kaiser Ada was supposed to be in the beginning of the game but Capcom said it was too convoluted so they took her out.
I thought it would be cool to bring her in as the DLC to show what she would have been doing there. I don’t view that as lying since it wasn’t cut for DLC, so you?
@Xenomorph_79 Why? I didn’t have to buy FF7 again to play the DLC. Apparently I’m missing something, help me out here.
@FatalBubbles Yeah you literally don't have to buy the game twice to get the DLC. I think he's confusing the PS Plus version not being entitled to the free upgrade, but that's not being forced to buy FF7 remake again because those people never bought it in the first place, they were given it as a freebie*.
@Nepp67 Take Two was worse. At least Capcom talked about games.
“That's it. That's the article”.
I like it - perhaps this approach can be adopted more often, especially on slow news days 😀.
I mean Capcom did say in advance what it was showing so are you all that surprised?
@Xenomorph_79
🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Maybe Capcom could clean your basement or wash your hair too?
People like you are lacking all the self awareness. All of it.
@Flaming_Kaiser do you enjoy experiencing the world in black and white?
Game design and production is a process. Stuff gets edited, cut, added and moved around.
None of these are new concepts. Making accusations of Capcom ‘lying’ or otherwise being nefarious just makes you look idiotic.
@AdamNovice They never said "That's all we're showing, nothing else" and it's E3 where big game reveals are a huge point, why make a conference for small updates on games that were already released? They could've just not showed anything at E3 and nothing would've been different. It's no wonder people hate watching E3.
@Nepp67 It's sad when even Square's and Ubi's conferences were more exciting by comparison. The fact that they ended the E3 with pointless talk about e-sports with SF5 and no new information about the dlc characters was a questionable decision.
@Xenomorph_79 No one lied about anything. Could you be more childish?
@Arnna I do things in the way i believe in so that my thing. Id you cut a complete thing out of the game and then resell it as DLC its just cut stuff to make money of. I see it as adding MT after saying a game wont have any.
Let's be honest its not even e3 anymore ,what happened to the spectacle and extravaganza ,oh yeah Sony left.
@Flaming_Kaiser I didn’t mention micro transactions. EA do stuff like that, Capcom don’t do it much at all.
Good quality DLC can be excellent.
Great news, I was worried we wouldn't have some story DLC.
@Nepp67 aww you will be ok
@Xenomorph_79 y'all kept demanding dlc read the article next time
@mucc move on f from resident evil 2 remake and 3 they done son
