You all remember the moment: Ghost of Tsushima’s title card is iconic. But one streamer’s reaction to the opening has gone viral almost a year after release: LordBalvin’s bobbing head and tearful eyes perhaps speak for all of us – there’s no question Sucker Punch knocked this one out of the park. We’ve included the video below, although please be aware there is some excited cursing towards the latter moments of the clip.
We may get to experience a similar moment soon, as there are rumours that a standalone spin-off is in production and slated for release soon. Ghost of Ikishima, as it’s apparently called, will pick up where its PlayStation 4 predecessor left off – assuming the story is accurate, you can sign us up on launch day for that. We’re guessing, based on this clip alone, LordBalvin won’t be too far behind.

I also enjoyed this game so much but I don’t get the point of his reaction…??
Sign me up for more stuff like this please! As fun as Abandoned news is to read, this warms the heart.
I still get chills hearing & watching this - Jin’s hand running across the grass … love what they did here!! Amazing job by sucker punch creating a brand new IP 😎
It is amazing and frankly sets the tone for one of the best games I have ever played.
GoT isn't for everyone but the game I think hit a particular beat that made a lot of people happy.
Phenomenal game. Loved that intro, the music which is also fantastic. Sucker punch made an excellent game.
Well I’m not sure if he’ll survive the ending then
Same thing happened to me.i had to start ghost of tshushima about 10 times just to show that intro.i mention that today.and that intro is legendary.i knew the music was gonna kick in and wow.sucker punch present ghost of tshushima.incredible.one of the best moments in video games ever.word up son
My man ain't prepared for one of those endings then.
@Casco He won't make to the start of Act 3
The game had so many great sequences like this.
Ghost is so good. More people need to experience it.
I mean, I loved that intro, it was simply amazing, but why is he shouting that much?
Wow! I've just got my pride and joy trophy on ff7r. I was nowhere near as emotional as this lad and he's only just starting the game! He's going to have an accident when he gets to a stand off.
@AdamNovice lol exactly.
How do you like cinematic open world action games now?
That intro sequence was so amazing. I get chills just thinking about it. Sucker Punch legit crafted my personal favorite open world game with Ghost. I absolutely can't wait to what's next from them.
@playstation1995 BIG WORM : STOP PLAYIN WIT MY EMOTIONS SMOKEY!
@Mgene15. Big perm.i mean big worm.haha.smokeyyy.word up son
@Reeneman same here man... no idea whats this supposed to be about. dont really care
@mrtennis1990 I'm not an emotional individual, and I almost never get too emotionally attached to a game, but this one hit me hard. Especially the end. Can't wait for you to play it!
@Reeneman @djape The dude's hyped for a game he wants to play.
What are you, the fun police?
@Enuo loll.. yeah, sometimes I guess
@Athrum views = money XD
I've become cynical and there is always some acting involved with streamers but that intro was phenomenal.
What an annoying reaction. I AM EMOTIONAL!!!!!!!
@AdamNovice is one game for everyone. There's always that one person who probably hates everything lol
Has Ghost been “upgraded” for PS5?
I have to say I had a similar sort of reaction when I played this when it came out. I was pretty amazed that they managed to make something so simple on paper that really felt like a moment thanks to the way the visuals and the music and his little hand touching the grass all come together.
I wonder if they even knew how good it was after they'd done it.
Absolutely phenomenal game and what a lovely reaction video. Right there with you buddy!
GoT was really good but I did struggle to get totally immersed in the world. If I don't have a map on-screen I will get lost, all the time. I end up in the start menu looking at the map constantly and that just breaks the immersion even more for me.
That said, I still did like 70 hours and got the platinum so I dunno wtf I'm complaining about.
Lots of little things to fix for the sequel but overall a beautiful experience.
Only streamers start shouting when they get emotional..
@frabbit if you swipe up on the touchpad, the wind will blow towards your objective/marker. Made it real easy for me
Yeah totally, jesus man I'd have been 100% lost 100% of the time without that lol. I suppose I meant that I couldn't get immersed as easily because I was just following the wind all the time to the next marker I had set rather than exploring naturally.
Beautiful game and stunning story but the actual game play is all a bit meh for me. Very few actual things to do. Follow fox, follow bird, write haiku, wash then clear camp. Thats it, repeated for hours.
Feel excited to have this still to come. Just waiting for the PS5 version...
Fake OTT reaction, cool.
@JapaneseSonic was a dream in Ps5. So smooth and these visuals (even on PS4 of course) are simply beautiful.
How they handle colours and the nature in this game is amazing.
We all have deeply personal and moving moments in our lives, I guess we just don't all share in the desire to film and upload them.
Good for him, I guess.
This is called emotional incontinence.
@Just_2_milky really can't say if this comment is legit of ironic
Another overreacting American 🙄 their nonsense knows no bounds
@WolfKingk87 seems very common with American streamers,the xbox e3 presentations from yesteryear ,use to give me diarrhoea for days.
@vapidwolf "Another overreacting American"
Different cultures.
I remember seeing a Marvel movie in the States with friends and as a Brit being annoyed with all the crowd making so much noise and hollering. I was thinking: I paid to watch the movie not some guy next to me.
The same American mates came over hear and we watched Endgame and they were genuinely put out how there was almost no crowd reaction, they thought no one liked the movie. It's part of the experience for them.
It's what you know and are used to.
...which is a very long and British way of saying I agree with you
@Enuo I'm confused as well. Since when does hype look like sorrow? To me it looks like this guy is dramatically weeping over a guy riding a horse. What am I missing here?
(FYI:I haven't played this game)
Nice acting, good job…..
@sketchturner @RBMango this is not the very beginning of the game... a lot of things happen until this part when music and setting and cinematic title all come together to set you off on a journey that follows. It's masterful and he was reacting to the art of it.
@TheDudeElDuderino okay
@sketchturner the game overall is beautiful. The whole style, how the nature is implemented and presented. Music & atmosphere are top notch, too.
But honestly for me it looks like the typical social media overacting… but don’t want to front this dude. Happy when he enjoyed the game as well.
@themightyant yeah I've seen those Endgame reaction videos ,id be fuming 😂
@vapidwolf it was very annoying
Literally paid to actually (re-)watch the movie back in the UK
But each to their own
Wholesome? dude says ***** over and over again.
@Dodoo yes
My reactions were better from various parts of RDR2. Unfortunately I never filmed myself playing it so you'll just have to believe me.
I do not want to go through the mental challenges to become so emotionally attached to video games like this, but its nice to see someone so exited and happy.
@Reeneman basically this is the demeanor of nearly every twitch streamer. Over dramatic disingenuous reactionism to keep their poor viewers living vicariously through them.
Living through a screen of someone else watching a screen. 👌
@KundaliniRising333 my thoughts exactly. Other than children, I simply don't get how the average person falls for it.
@JJ2 he gone lose his mind when he gets into act 3...
And thats why i like Sony platform exclusives and i gladly pay a little extra to keep them coming.
@djape get a soul. You guys are utter killjoys
