EA Sports has pulled back the curtain on FIFA 22 with a predictably vague trailer — but the gist of it is that this year's instalment is powered by 'HyperMotion Technology'. Supposedly, this new tech allows EA Sports to create more lifelike gameplay through realistic animations and player interactions. The developer's really trying to make a big deal out of this, so it'll be interesting to see whether actual gameplay shows a noticeable difference in quality.
Speaking of which, FIFA 22 will be at EA Play Live later this month, on the 22nd July, and gameplay footage has been promised.
FIFA 22 itself is out on the 1st October for both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, and once again stars Kylian Mbappé on the cover. Other 'FIFA Ambassador' players include Heung-Min Son, Phil Foden, David Alaba, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Christian Pulisic. In other words, these are the players you'll see in and around the game's menus and marketing.

What matter is it's coming Rome!
@NemesisSam30 That ball deserved to be killed.

@nessisonett even autocorrect is off on one today.
Realism would be nice. Would make a change compared to the ridiculously fast-paced, basketball-style, goalfests the game almost insists on at the moment.
Also, put Three Lions on the soundtrack and in the crowd sounds ffs! It's coming home!
They'll always hit you and hurt you
Defend and attack
There's only one way to beat them
Get 'round the back
Catch me if you can
'Cause I'm the England man
And what you're looking at
Is the master plan
We ain't no hooligans
This ain't a football song
Three lions on my chest
I know we can't go wrong
COME ON ENGLAND!!! 🏴🏴🏴 Whoop whoop whoop! 🥳
FIFA 22: Legacy Edition on PS4
EDIT: Just clarifying, this is a joke

Staff at EA
"Let's come up with a new gimmick so we can basically flog these clowns the same game once again with barely nothing other than squad and kit updates"
"I've got it, let's make up some ***** and call it Hypemotion Technology"
"Err yeah that sounds good , that'll make it sound new and interesting. Let's do that"
EA job done for another 12 months

I'm not really interested in the game (or footy in general) but that trailer was pretty good.

Poor form guys. Last I'll say on the matter
@lolwhatno I don’t really like football (if my whoop, whoop’s didn’t give me away).
If I have to watch it I’m mostly just checking out the players 😁
I am rooting for England though tonight.
@fR_eeBritney Wow, I haven't seen anyone rooting for England online with the recent fiasco!
@fR_eeBritney
Come on England. 🏴🏴🏴
Would be nice if they stifled the whole absolute speed game from FIFA. Far too many boring games all played the same way.
I have ... fifa 13? and never played it... don't see any reason to buy another, but unfortunately this game runs the bussiness... at least there will be no screaming jester on cover...
@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L someone pledged allegiance to house Lannister and all hell broke loose 🤪
@Jackpaza0508 legacy editions are only for Switch.
Awful game for an awful generation.
£70 for PS5 version or £90 for cross-gen version?
They are having a laugh.
Not paying those prices for an annual sports game getting milked with pay to win microtransactions. LOL
@Marios-love-child I don’t play sports games but what exactly should they do to make this so vastly different than the previous iteration? I mean, these games are based on real life and there’s not much that changes year to year other than... squads. The bone you’re picking with sports games deserve to be picked with yearly COD and Assassins Creed games.
Sports games try to emulate real life and real life doesn’t change much. The one thing they can do is go for more realism and that’s what they do. 🤷🏾♂️
@blinx01 I know quite a few FIFA players who win a lot and have never bought a single microtransaction. “Pay to win” made up internet chatter.
@lolwhatno People act crazy because they care about these things. They have grown up knowing that a piece of land they were born in called something is 'theirs' and they learn patriotism and go and fight wars for it. Ofcourse they cheer if it 'wins' in anything. Imagine the emotions on an election night, sports is like a trivial version of rooting for your team, and by extension, the country that you feel so attached to.
Plus, bonus if you love the sport and if you look around you can see other people having extreme emotions and being obsessed with the sport and its natural for most people to conform and imitate the behavior of people around them.
Finally, compare this to video games. It's a bunch of virtual characters and you're pressing a bunch of buttons and yet people get so emotional on both the state of a game or if they lose while playing a competitive game.
Even caring about whether Fifa is different or not, like people here and on the internet, is ridiculous as you don't have any control over it and the things you're experiencing are being experienced by millions of people all over the world and you're just one random insignificant person. Despite all of that, people care about their favorite video games quite a lot when you explore these communities. And finally, all of these are coming from a person with a similar perspective to you. Despite everything i have said to explain and justify it, it looks completely ridiculous to me too.
That's great, I was worried the yearly release would abruptly cease to be and the world would end.
It's gonna be the same mediocre game that every FIFA is.
@Illy333 just play FIFA mobile instead. Don’t pay 70 dollars for the same game every year
@reek nicely articulated 🙂🙂
I'd rather have an International Superstar Soccer 4K Collection.
Italy won the finale
Muther pluckers!!!
Sorry folks, I tried to warn you
You still played nice, though!
I'm not even Psychic and I knew this was coming years in advance.
@dont_simp_for_them I was and I live in Ireland. I noticed Welsh people favouring Italy. Nothing against it ofc but it makes me wonder.
Lol... the timing!
Unfortunely EA, all i see are lootboxes, evil lootboxes. No matter what game you make, i will pass on it.
@Dobbos Thanks.
@lolwhatno Wonder how many people in England cried today
God damn what's up with the removal of comments here?
Y'know I notice something about EA's sports titles.
Every year they try to tote some new big feature with a cheesy name, and every year the big cheesy "feature" is just a culmination of smaller features being implemented, or certain things are slightly different when they happen.
It's like smoke and mirrors.
You guys got *****!
And I was rooting for the home team but anyways, lol
it is coming Rome , looking forward to beat England also on Fifa 22!
Italy won great to see. 👏
@reek They made fun of a little girl on Twitter so i hope atleast those guys.
@Sinton I loved those games but we need a save feature then im not putting in those codes anymore. 😅
I love it when a new FIFA is coming out and EA have to come up with some mad reason why this version is so much better than the last one. They probably spend half of the time between iterations desperately trying to come up with something to trick you into buying it again.
@reek There's this concept called ideology or in common terms, 'false consciousness'; a system of beliefs and values that can be manipulated by government, and those with control over media and education. It's a system you are born into so you think 'the way things are' and the way you see the world is "Reality" and true in some way.
Maybe back in the day teams did represent and arise from the local community, but that isn't real anymore. Even for some national teams where some players play for a country because a grandparent was from there.
Nevertheless, you can still know all this - be free from all this patriotism crap, and still support a team because it's fun (and sometimes other not so fun emotions) to do so, along with friends, go along for the ride. EA, like the FA, Premier League, UEFA, FIFA etc are simply profiting from this 'ideology' - oh, teams too with their extortionate season ticket, merchandise market and the billions they make off this sometimes naive 'loyalty'. Most of us are happy to disregard and not think about this commercialisation and corruption and just enjoy the immediate experience.
@Flaming_Kaiser
Football got lost on the way home and ended up in Italy. I guess it's true even in football, this year at least that: "All roads lead to Rome."
@djlard why do people always find a way to comment on games they don't even play?
so you have an 8 years old game that you don't care about.
do you want applause?
@AhmadSumadi
I agree that other than making it look a bit prettier with each generation of consoles there isn't alot more they can do. What I don't agree with is having to pay £70 for the ps5 version when other than new squads and kits you'd hardly notice any difference. It's the fact the charge top dollar every year for what's effectively a reskin
At least with the other games you mentioned eg Cod you get new maps and themes
Jesus thank god England lost. These SOB's would have bragged for another 50 years if they won.
@nathanSF 😂 Im sorry but i find it kinda funny especially for the ***** that made fun of the little German girl. Sucks for the people who where so nice to do a kickstarter though.
@lukaskus no aplaus needed, but I've hold thousands of FIFAs in my hand. So even if I don't care this as game, I care as it as product.
so push deleting comments all i said was EA - “It’s still the same”.
