FIFA 22 will be officially revealed this weekend, EA Sports has confirmed. The annual soccer sim will debut on YouTube at 4:30PM BST / 5:30PM CEST on the 11th July — just hours before Italy take on England in the Euro 2020 final. A big day for footy fans, then.
And to the surprise of no one, this year's cover will once again feature France and PSG forward Kylian Mbappé. The young Frenchman is still widely considered to be one of the best footballers on the planet, despite his game-sealing penalty miss against Switzerland in the aforementioned Euros. But hey, it's always unfair to judge players on penalties, and we're pretty sure that Mbappé's FIFA rating won't be taking a knock anytime soon.
Will you be tuning in for the reveal? Feel free to start singing "it's coming home" in the comments section below.

Hope there's a battle royale mode.
I had a clever remark lined up, but I'm not jinxing anything until after Sunday.
@Milktastrophe There actually is a Battle Royale mode in FIFA.
It's more like a casual multiplayer thing where you lose a player each time you score or something.
Having been wrapped up in the Euro's i am very sorely tempted to get Fifa 21 given its only 14.99 - and then upgrading to the PS5 version. Is it worth it? I try not to buy Fifa regularly, so the last one i bought was 17 (when it was down to like a fiver).
Edit: wish Fifa still did regional covers. Would be much happier with the likes of Saka, Sterling etc on the cover!
@Rob_230 If you've got the football itch, I think it's worth it for that price. Despite all the hate it gets, FIFA is a lot of fun when you're in the mood. Even better if you haven't played it in years.
@ShogunRok Thanks Rob. I did reacquaint myself with your review earlier. The upgrade sounds great and the haptic feedback in particular sounded great.
The problem with guaging how good fifa actually is, is that people online love to hate on ultimate team and the microtransactions. But as you can avoid all that, then its always good for casual fun.
I just wish they would add National League teams into the game since my team has been languishing there for the past 3 years 🙄
@Rob_230 For sure, I still dip into my long-running LFC career mode every now and then, if I get the urge. Generally have a great time with it.
I think FIFA's strength lies in how accessible it is. You can play it in 10 minute bursts or you can play it for hours at a time. It's a very accommodating game if, like you say, you don't get bogged down in Ultimate Team, and just try to enjoy it casually.
@get2sammyb That actually sounds great for a boozy night! Reminds me of our Pro Evo Drinking games at uni
@get2sammyb reminds me of Fifa Street on PS3.
Coming to Liverpool, Kylian?
Mbappe? Should be Sir Gareth and the boys after this Sunday.
ITS COMING HOME
I'm interested to see since it's the first next gen FIFA game really. However, I don't hold my expectations very high. Same goes for NBA 2K22.
If you have Fifa 21, no need to get this.
Sports games barely change much year to year. Just update the roster
@Netret0120 Some people like me play +100 hours of Fifa each year, so $60 is not that much. Also, the gameplay completely changes each year so the roster is not the only change.
This game needs a new engine not just another lick of paint otherwise i wont be buying this years copy
@ShogunRok whelp i picked it up and as i drove back to my house, all i could think was 'its coming home' 😅😉 i'll get my coat
@Rob_230 Haha, enjoy! (And hopefully continue to enjoy after tomorrow...)
