The year is moving right along, and we're starting to get out of the comparatively quiet summer months and into a busier release schedule. From August onwards, PlayStation 5 and PS4 games are going to start coming thick and fast, and there's plenty to be excited about over the next few weeks. Let's go through the next couple of months and see what's coming to store shelves.

Hades - 13th August
This critically acclaimed indie title blew everyone away last year on PC and Switch, and now it's finally heading to PS5 and PS4. It's a rogue-like dungeon crawler in which you play as Zagreus, son of Hades, as he attempts to escape the ever-shifting underworld. Developer Supergiant Games blends the randomly generated levels and fast-paced combat with a story that slowly unfolds between runs. We can't wait to get our hands on this one and see what all the fuss is about.
Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut - 20th August
This re-release of the smash hit PS4 title is adding a whole bunch of new things to Jin's quest. The open world samurai action game will be bigger and better with Director's Cut, the headline addition being Iki Island. This expansion adds a brand new territory to the map, bringing with it new threats, story, missions, and more. The PS5 version also includes other enhancements, like faster loading, DualSense implementation, and Japanese lip-synching for an even more immersive experience.
Deathloop - 14th September
We've seen and heard quite a bit about Deathloop, but it's finally almost here. You play as Colt, a man stuck in a time loop on Blackreef Island with a bunch of maniacs. Using the loop to your advantage, your goal is to assassinate eight targets in one rotation in order to break the cycle. With Dishonored-esque special abilities and an emphasis on slick combat, this is shaping up to be another corker from Arkane Studios.

None are worth buying
Hades...everything else just dosnt appeal to me..
@Northern_munkey Same here.
Iki Island and Deathloop day one. Hades first price drop probably. Sick of this drought.
No listing for Psychonauts 2?
August Ghost of Tsushima
September Diablo 2
I thought The Forgotten City was already out? Or is that the PS4 version?
Not exciting month at all. Hades for me but that's about it.
2022 is looking pretty f*cking good though !
@kingbreww
Hades is well worth buying but if it’s not your sort of thing that’s fair enough.
Star Renegades looked alright but apparently has tactical elements and is rogue lite so probably not now.
@kingbreww I feel sorry for you then 😎
Games from this list I’ll almost certainly play:
Lost Judgment
Tales of Arise
The Forgotten City
Hades
Deathloop
GoT: Directors Cut
Death Stranding: Directors Cut
Star Renegades
Life is Strange: True Colours
The Medium
Foreclosed and Tails of Iron also very likely
Death Stranding <3 My fave from last gen. Will also get Tsushima on ps5 as I haven’t played it before and Keena if it’s any good
@Sakisa Ridiculously it doesn't have a physical release, and this list seems to only be focussing on retail titles
Interested in Hades, Ghost of Tsushima, Sonic, Life is Strange, Death Stranding, Deathloop, Kena, Psychonauts 2, Baldo, Tales of Arise, and Lost Judgment
Life Is Strange True Colours I'm actually looking forward to the most on this list but I will most probably buy Tales Of Arise day one now because it's really looking like it will make up for the last couple of disappointing games in the series.
Sonic Colours and Kitaria Fables im also interested in..
I also love the look of Lost Judgement but I'm still playing Yakuza Zero and any more would burn me out.
Death stranding and ghost of tsushima without shadow of a doubt day one
Such a weak holiday lineup.... you putting together this list won't soften the blow from a terrible year of silence raking in money off false promises from your friends at Sony. But hey, at least the sold 10 million consoles right?..........
@kingbreww nothing? I though September had something for everyone.
@Splat ahh forgot diablo 2..must have.
I want to play death stranding again but not sure I have the energy to set up my zip line network again.
@ChrisDeku @Hurblyburbly @zimbogamer the only game I’d play in that list is life is strange, just definitely not for full price
Lost judgment, tales of arise when it's on sale, and I can't decide on aliens cause it looks cool but alien colonial marines looked cool at one point.
I've pre-ordered Hades a while ago.
Not long to wait now.
Tales Of Arise, Lost Judgement & Kena are my picks. And as someone else mentioned, Psychonauts 2 I'm quite keen to play having just recently played through the first (pretty good too!).
Ikishima is a 100% for me. Other than that maybe deathloop but I've had enough shooters for this year so idk. Played hades on steam a year ago and it was fun but definitely overrated.
It's all about the switch for the rest of 2021. It's crazy that Sony doesn't have anything on offer to look forward to for the holidays. Not that I'm complaining mind, I've got plenty to play and Deathloop should be about £20 24 hours after release.
For me.
August - GoT DC
September - Kena Bridge Of Spirits
October - Battlefield 2042
No Psychonauts 2?
September would be a rough month for my wallet if I didn’t preemptively attack it with a litany or preorders.
Nothing i have been waiting for or know much or anything about. However post release reviews and players reponses may inspire desire.
Hades and Psychonauts 2 for me….on GamePass.
Only interested in Deathloop for my PS5.
I'm waiting for the inevitable "no death run" in deathloop.
Lost Judgement
Tales of arise and ghost iki expansion for me
@Sakisa I was wondering the same thing.
Nothing from me. Deathloop seems like another rogue-like and I’m not paying for 10 for PS5 upgrade for GoT + 20 for DLC
Nothing for me out of that list. I have a huge backlog though so no worries!
Well I guess Tales of arise is the only thing I will be interested in. Never played a tales game before, so I hope this one is good.
Weak months! No Kena and no Riders Republic means I will probably get Arise and nothing else...
Where's Lil' Devil Inside? That's what I wanna know!
Seen soooo many adverts for Deathloop that I am already bored with the game 😅
PS+ would be a good idea 👍🏻😆
Kena and Fracked in August for me. Most on this list is completely uninteresting imo.
@WizzNL your right completely forgot about the delay
I'll definitely pick up the Iki Island Expansion. I was really enjoying GoT, but I had to drop it around act 2 as I was too busy with my course work. I will also be picking up Hades, because none of my friends will shut up about that game.
@SplooshDmg Still stupid im sure the backers would not mind if everyone who wants a physical copy would be able to get one.
@SplooshDmg I backed 3 games and im happy that the games got a physical release for everyone im just gratefull i could play the game i funded.
@SplooshDmg shrug, it works for Platinum!
Just have the feeling Deathloop may get some 9's in reviews.
Hades is THAT good, everyone. Give it a shot!
How many articles can we expect of y'all complaining about which ones go to Game Pass (such as Hades and Riftbreaker)?
August:
Ghost of Tsushima
Psychonauts 2
September:
Tales of Arise
KENA
Lost Judgement
No way I can play that many games in September. So I am set for a while on PS5 (FarCry6 still in the wings in Oct)
August: I only plan to buy Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut.
September:
I plan to buy Life is Strange: True Colors, Tales of Arise, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Death Stranding: Director's Cut, Lost Judgment, and Life is Strange: Remastered Collection.
My wallet is gonna be hella drained after September, RIP.
