Geoff Keighley will write a new chapter in his love affair for game creator Hideo Kojima later this week as "an extended look at the gameplay of" Death Stranding Director's Cut is confirmed for Gamescom Opening Night Live. Taking place on Wednesday, the host simply teased the gameplay footage will be lengthy alongside the bold warning: "Don't miss this moment." We mean, you probably could miss it because we'll have a handy round up of every PS5, PS4 announcement at the show available on the site afterwards, but then you shouldn't doubt Keighley.
So far, we know Death Stranding Director's Cut will contain some new story missions and a racing mode alongside some clearly Metal Gear Solid inspired elements. Besides that, the PS5 upgrade is a much more reasonable price than Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut. So maybe don't expect new content quite on the same scale as Iki island. Still, we'll get to see it all in action come Wednesday.

I beat this game a few weeks ago. Honestly I think I understood the story better before I played the game.
Let's just hope the trailer isn't HIDEOus
Really looking forward to playing this again. Walking in the rain listening to Low Roar, can’t wait.
It's going to have Sam infiltrating an enemy camp in a cardboard box and the dog from Silent Hill 2's secret ending will be his companion. Mr. Keighley told me so telepathically.
Get on your tin foil hat as you know what this is code for... Silent hills confirmed at Gamescom!!!
Loved the game. But really have no desire to play it again.
Wish it had a story expansion like Ghost of Tsushima. That I would buy day 1
Do we know the upgrade path for this game? Both as a PS4 to PS4, or PS4 to PS5 (as with Ghost of Tsushima)? I'm not sure I enjoyed the game sufficiently to completely rebuy it, but if there is enough content, I could be tempted into purchasing DLC (if at a reasonable price point).
@Fiendish-Beaver There is no PS4 version, it's only available on PS5. Upgrading from PS4 to PS5 will cost $10.
@Agramonte looks like it will have new story content, new weapons, new vehicles, new missions, and a new area to explore (according to the game description on the ps store)
The good news for this game is my backlog is whittling down. Doing the right thing putting it off aren’t I
@bassjas12 I knew of "New Missions" and weapons.
If they have actual Story content and extra section to the map than that is a different story (to bad all my roads are gone at this point)
Thanks.
@SoulChimera Same, can’t wait for those moments again.
Haven't gotten into DS yet so will get the upgrade and enjoy it at 60fps. I dont need to see another trailer though. Seems like filler to me.
the more you play this masterpiece the more you understand it. my advice to new players is: read all the interviews you find in the game. from the beginning. don't wait till you're 5 hours in to start reading them, they explain terms to you like chiralium, BTs, timefall, the uca...etc. they also tell you about some of the characters backgrounds. and they generally help you understand the story even better. if you don't read them you'll be confused for 40 hours
@LiamCroft - Ideal. Thank you.
Looking forward to it! I never got very far in my PS4 playthrough, will probably start over fresh with PS5 version.
