Lost Judgment has a new extended story trailer fresh from Gamescom 2021, and the sequel continues to look like it'll be another engrossing adventure. The video introduces the game's plot, showing off both old and new characters, with protagonist Takayuki Yagami once again tangled up in a horrible murder case. As you'd expect, things aren't quite as they seem on the surface.
With all of that out the way, we would suggest skipping this trailer if you want to go into Lost Judgment with as little information as possible. While we doubt that any of the footage spoils future plot points, watching it does mean that you'll be clued up with a lot of narrative beats long before you start playing.

Man that Dragon Engine just keeps getting better and better.
I have been going through the Yakuza series on Game Pass (sorry to bring it up); but after moving on to Yakuza 3 after Yakuza Kiwami 2, I am seriously tempted to skip the rest of the series and pick up at Yakuza 6. The old engine just looks and feels terrible by comparison.
I really need to get Judgement.
Also, subbed, not dubbed.
Literally the only game I will play til the end of the year. I have very high hopes for it.
Does anyone know if the character story dlc on the ultimate edition comes on day 1 or if it comes at a later stage? I don't care if I pay more for it separately if it comes at a later stage. But I like to pay for things I can use on the spot haha.
Just a few more weeks! Ah I can't wait stop testing my commitment to media blackout with these trailers Sega! I will not give in!
@GamingFan4Lyf "Also, subbed, not dubbed." My man. I prefer dubs in the majority of cases, but not RGG Studio games. Subs all the way.
I'm playing through Judgment right now so I'll probably be playing Lost Judgment early next year. I usually like to tackle RGG Studio games every 6 months or so.
@Deadlyblack I always prefer to play/watch things in their native language with subtitles.
Back when anime was kind of growing in this North America and you had to buy either dubbed or subbed VHS, I chose subbed VHS because dubbing back then was really bad (DVD was a godsend to allow both).
I think Cowboy Bebop is one of the few anime I will say "dubbed all the way!" The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzamiya is another one I would say "dubbed all the way!"
But yeah, subbed all the way for me!
@Deadlyblack I'd play the yakuza series dubbed if the voices didn't sound like they came straight out of an anime. Some of the voices just don't fit the characters or the acting is just off in many scenes.
@Nepp67 So true. Any time I play 7 and hear the English dubs I can't imagine how on earth they chose the actors they did. Ichi is a somewhat over-excitable zany, off the wall character. His animations make it clear, and the Japanese VA carries it through. The English VA makes him sound like a stoic hero that doesn't match the animation at all. The VA they chose would have made an excellent Kiryu....who is nothing like Ichi.
I never played the first one, but man this story looks good. I may have to get that one and then this since l....well....delaystation 5 lol
Looks really good but i would recommend skipping the trailer as i think i know a plot point now based on the characters in the first. Trying to be vague lol
@Deadlyblack the dub of the first game was terrible. Subtitles all the way.
@ILikeStake It’s on PSNow if you’ve got it…
Skipping the trailer to avoid story spoilers, just started playing the first game for the first time recently.
