The weeks feel like they come around quicker and quicker, but we're edging towards the business end of the year now. That means games, and lots of them. If you've got anything left in your backlog, you may want to clear it out quickly, because you're about to be very (very) busy.

I'd love to tell you I'm going to be returning to Ghost of Tsushima this weekend — I'm really looking forward to the new content — but the reality is I'm going to be playing Train Sim World 2. There's new content out, and I'd actually missed a couple of packs over the past few months, so I'll be mastering a bunch of different locomotives.

I'm in the mood to play a longer, nine hour-ish single player FPS campaign, so I looked through the PS Plus games in my game library, and I've started to download PS4 Call of Duty: Black Ops III.
A short and sweet WAYP from us this weekend, then. But that doesn't mean you need to keep quiet in the comments. What are you playing this weekend? Let us know down below.
Comments 97
Switch - WarioWare demo, and trying out Pokemon Unite!
PS5 - Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut!
PC - Team Fortress 2 with friends!
Have a good weekend everyone.
My new PS5! Specifically Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
I'm trying to create a Philip K. Dick character to start a new game on Survival mode with Fallout 4, but with bad results...
Ps4- Metal gear solid v definitive experience, only 5 bucks
Pc-Yakuza 0
I’d like to play GoT DC but I’ve promised myself I’m going to get one full run in on Hades first. This might well just be the death of me.
The campaign of Infinite Warfare. When you're in the mood for some sci-fi fps but the Killzone games languish on PS3 while we get remasters of games that came out in the last year or two.
PS5: Spider-Man Remastered. Man am I impressed! The game is really well done. First time ever playing Spider-Man. Bet Miles Morale will be just as awesome.
XBSX: Hades. Hard to put this bad boy down. Probably gonna try out some Quake as well if I have time.
Not sure yet. Just back home from a few days away for my better halfs birthday but looking forward to some gaming after lots of walking since Wednesday! Have a great weekend gaming everyone.
@render you can do it. I may treat myself to GoT expansion later on. So I'll just blame you for bringing it up if I do spend more on games 😂
Ordered a bunch of PSVR games and I want to play ghost giant and down the rabbit hole immigrants when they arive.
Besides that I’m almost done with yakuza kiwami 2 and I’m still shiny hunting in pokemon shield.
Playing tales of arise demo on ps5, the game is good, it's the next-gen tales that I want
Also playing quake 1 remaster on gamepass pc. I think I like gamepass now, maybe I'll continue the subs after it expired.
I'll be playing a mix of Pathfinder: Kingmaker & Uncharted 2: Among Thieves over the weekend on my trusty slim PS4.
First time playing Uncharted 2 and I'm enjoying it a lot more then the first game. The villain's are better and much more threatening, Chloë's miles more interesting then Elana, the use of In Medias Res for the opening with the train.
Good stuff and I can see why it's praised & considered to be the best of the series by most.
As for Pathfinder: Kingmaker it's going pretty well. Finally got used to the kingdom management aspect that's crept into this CRPG. Not a whole lot I can do yet though...
My new party member Kaessi has quickly become my favourite of the group thanks to the very unique mechanics she has compared to everyone else.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Still on my 4th run of the unique masterpiece Red Dead Redemption 2. Can't get the same experience anywhere else. Captured the bay giant Hungarian Half-bred but I've ended up liking that dapple bay Tennessee Walker instead. Then it's some GT Sport and anything else.
Been replaying Ghostbusters the Video Game on PS4 and Switch Lite, had it on PS3 years back and it holds up well I think. Also might play some C64 games, feel like replaying Ocean's Batman the Movie and maybe some Stunt Car Racer.
Had a lot of fun with the Tales of Arise demo, and now I'm diving back into ME3. Must. Finish. Before. End. Of. Summer. Holliday. Argh!
With Shenmue 3 finally finished last week, I've returned to Dragon Quest 11 on switch. What a great game. I may try to beat zack and wiki on wii. I first bought it when it was new but could never finish it. Not having Internet on phones in 2008 really sucked
Just finished Devil May Cry on PS5, tried it on Hell and Hell mode but my old age co-ordination and reactions had no chance ha ha.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition back on the first game on an Insanity run and remembering how much I love these games
On GamePass Xbox One, I'll be starting a run on Hades tomorrow to see if it lives up to the hype
Have a great weekend guys ❤
Hades again but I've just started playing Sackboy after having it since launch. What a great little game - especially with the Pulse 3D headset. Fantastic soundtrack.
Sekiro shadows die twice game of the year edition.one of the best games ever made.and the excellent mafia definitive edition.the Jefferson marathon.different strokes. Saved by the bell.and fear street part 2 1978 horror movie.word up son
Solving crimes in the Great Ace Attorney Chronicles and then popping back into days gone to clean out some more hordes.
What’s going on guys I finally wrapped up the platinum for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. I thought it was a great Ratchet & Clank entry, but I have to be honest I hard a really hard time getting into it after coming directly from the exhilarating Returnal.
Now I’ve finally started the incredible Demon’s Souls remake on PS5 and I’m impressed how good of a job Bluepoint Games have done here. I haven’t played the PS3 version since 2012 but it’s just like how I remembered it in my head rather than how it actually looks on PS3 hardware if you know what I mean.
A very beautiful game and many small quality-of-life improvements done by Bluepoint make it less frustrating than before without turning down the difficulty. Even though Bloodborne has more fast-paced action in general, Demon’s Souls remake has vastly superior load times and plays at 60fps which honestly makes it feel just as fast as Bloodborne to me. Especially because I’m going for a light armor build with the Blueblood Sword!
Happy gaming everyone.
Started No Heroes Allowed VR last night, did 3 missions and made up some interesting monster combos. It's not usually my genre at all but it's pretty good so far.
I'm going to the feckin pub for my first pint since March 2020.
Just started playing Hades and it's cool as f**k! I'll add some Watch Dogs Legion and Red Dead Online into the mix this weekend too.
Watch Dogs Legion. 45h so far, have to reach the end and than, Bloodlines is waiting.
I'm just taking a break from games ahead of what looks to be a great list of upcoming games. Lost Judgement, Takes of Arise, Far Cry 6, Dying Light 2, etc.
Hades, just finishing up my last few story related trophies for the plat. It is annoying to have to wait on the RNG to progress story. My one gripe with an otherwise stellar game.
Ys 9 monstrous noxxers and probably nothing else.
More of the PS5 version of A Plague Tale: Innocence. Still loving the job they did with the PS5 version, where a small studio like Asobo with an upgrade of a PS4 game can far outclass most bigger studios with their usage of the PS5 features (DualSense, trophy tracking, tons of hint videos, etc.)
I'll also finally try the demo for Tales of Arise at some point this weekend.
Playing Mass Effect 2. I thought the characters in the first were generally pretty great but the supporting cast in 2 are even better. Thane in particular is one cool dude and has overtaken Garrus with the best voice in the galaxy!
Having a lot of fun with what is clearly one of the greatest sci-fi games ever made.
Have a good time whatever you play or do this weekend.
Ghost Expansion story is well done
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Super Paper Mario, and a patched GBA ROM of Shin Megami Tensei I.
Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut of course! I played it a bit when I got home from work yesterday and it felt like visiting an old good friend. Simply incredible game!
Just picked up Dead Cells so I'm gonna be hacking and slashing my way through that.
Well mostly ghost of Tsushima. But also nearly finished deaths door on Xbox so might try and finish that this weekend too, it's a really fun game actually, bit hard sometimes but mostly due to my own mistakes, only real downside to the game is no map so it's sometimes hard to know where to go.
I'm trying my first Batman game, Arkham Knight, about five hours in and I'm not sold on it yet. Watch Dogs Legion is the dead cert backup plan, although it may be better to wait a few days and play that as an assassin....it's all just killing time till Far Cry 6
Just completed second campaign on Warhammer Chaosbane, will start a third. Have started a new playthough on Until Dawn, looking to collect last of the trophies. Have downloaded Nioh 2 via PlayStation Now, will probably start it up.
@KilloWertz Same here! I finally beat Chapter 6, playing for the first time and loving this game.
Hoping to have it beat by Sunday night so I can focus on other games in my backlog.
I never finished Outer Worlds, so I’m going back to do the DLC and to finish the campaign.
Carrying on with Judgement (PS5), superb game so far, Yagami is so kool, but I do struggle with the combat on occasions.
@Ristar24 I played it on the Amiga but the name Stunt Car Racer brings back good memories, it is a tough game too!
@JVCIOM70 I would have recommended starting with Asylum it is the oldest one but still the best IMO, the car sections completely ruined Knight for me but still a decent game so hopefully it clicks for you!
Happy gaming.
I was playing quite a bit of the Quake Remaster on PC last night. May dabble in it over the course of the weekend while also playing Judgment.
Aliens: Fireteam 😳🤭
@MightyDemon82 I’m definitely trying my best. I was so close earlier but just needed a bit more health or skill, ok mainly skill. Spend that money and just blame it on me, I’m happy to be the bad guy in this situation if it means getting to play a great game 😉
1. Ghost of Tsushima (will be an obsession again)
If anyone looking for a game. Scarlet Nexus is on sale for $35. Fantastic game (Tip: play both stories at the same time)
https://www.bandainamcoent.com/deals
I'm right at the end of Yakuza 6 I believe. Then I'll be moving on to Ys IX.
Ghost of Tsushima, of course.
Iki Island needs its Ghost too, you know.
👻 of Tsushima all weekend.
i finished most of my backlog with not many new releases this year so I'm all in on iki island
@KidBoruto I'm on either Chapter 10 or 11. I lost track.
I actually played about half of it on Xbox a year or so ago, but stupidly never finished it. Oh well. Worked out in the end since now I'm getting to play an even better version of the game with the upgraded graphics, framerate, and DualSense features.
I'm actually playing (or trying to find the time and energy to play) more of the Tales of Arise demo. I really like the combat!
Quake, a lovely blast from the past, especially fun in split-screen co-op campaign.
Doom Eternal on PS5, a fever dream so far, looks incredible in 60fps raytracing mode, thanks to a £14 ps store deal.
I guess I'm saying goodbye to id software on playstation.
Still on Like a Dragon, but hitting a bit of a wall with the grind necessary to finish the final (optional) dungeon.
Now that I’ve finished TLoU2 it’s time go back to Ghost of Tsushima on PS4. It took me a minute to get back in the groove of it. But now that I have I’m completely sucked in again. What a game.
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, Samurai Shodown, and Street Fighter V
not much. taking a week break from gaming. all enjoy the iki island!
Angry Birds Star Wars (Windows Phone) - Nearly 2/3 the way through the game now.
Equalicious (Windows Phone) - Still playing here and there.
Bug Village (Windows Phone) - My village is nearly complete.
More hades. Should be getting my 10th win tonight and then I can focus on the end game.
@Col_McCafferty Naah man, no one beats Garrus' voice haha. Incredible game - ME2 - 100 percented it back in the days with joy, never at any point did it feel like a chore.
@Mostik Stunt Car Racer was great on the Amiga, but the C64 version was the one I had at the time. The 3D graphics (for an 8-bit Mirco) impress me to this day. Am looking forward to the A500 mini.
Hades, borderlands 3 and mortal shell for the added update which is really cool..
Just finished judgment, so nothing really...back to valhalla I suppose.
I've been struggling with the hardest difficulty in Ratchet and Clank A Rift Apart. Never expected it to be quite as hard and intense as this tbh but I'm not complaining.
My only criticism is having to start a boss fight from scratch if you die. It can make the game borderline rage inducing when that happens plus it's exhausting too.
PGA Tour 2K21, had to pick it up on that big sale and some Rise of the Tomb Raider
Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut on PS5. Yes would’ve been nice having the upgrade for free, but don’t mind paying a small chunk of change for such a great game
@Slippship Sadly my copy didn't have invade-a-load, but the brilliant Ocean Loader tune in all its versions made the wait for a tape to load a lot less painful!
Got sucked into No Mans Sky.
Only started playing it for the gamepass challenge, but it's taken hold of me.
hurricane is coming in but i’ll be playing Skyward Sword abs War for Wakanda until we lose power!
Hi there fellow gamers.
After finishing my ME Adept, Renegade, Insanity run, I was going for a ME2 Infiltrator, Renegade, Insanity run.
But......
So, there is this expansion for my personal GOTY with an uprade for PS5, so.......... I´ll be playing that. That´s it.
I love that you can repeat the duels now.
I repeated pretty must all of them while I was remembering how to play this game again in Lethal difficulty.
It´s so fun....... When the CPU doesn´t cheat 😜
(spoiler)Man, Kojiro and Lady Masako are tough(/spoiler)
Cheers, stay safe folks and happy gaming weekend to us all
@Bentleyma- Hi there friend.
Congrats on your new Shining PS5! And with R&C:RA to boot.
Such a beautiful game. And the Dualsense really shines on this game, especially with all the crazy weapons.
Cheers, stay safe and enjoy the new system
@Col_McCafferty Hi there friend.
Ha, knew you were going to like it.
But I have to agree with @TheArt Garrus as a character, with is iconic voice lines, is unbeatable.
That´s your best bro, right there.
Love their friendship with MaleShep and romance with FemShep.
Mass Effect has some of the best written characters and party members in a videogame.
Cheers, stay safe and both of you have a good one 👍
PS5 - Resident Evil: Village, Scarlet Nexus
Switch - The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD
New Ghost of Tsushima dlc and Quake all weekend for me.
Playing the Loot the Universe event in Borderlands 3 (this week is Promethea) while advancing the current Vault Cards, more Watch Dogs Legion, and dipping back into Far Cry New Dawn
Apparently I’ve moved into Tsushima, lol. Still on act 1, uncovering stuff.
I did make a detour into Hades for a bit, but it’s not my jam so I’m dropping it.
@KingPev Yeah, due to my age, I play a lot of games on easy, even DMC, and still it's a challenge.
@RaZieLDaNtE Dang, didn't even know you could repeat duels. Almost had to start over because my PS4 disc version meant the PS5 upgrade couldn't find my saves. Had to switch to PS4 version, upgrade it, manually save, then return to PS5 version. Very clunky upgrade for my scenario, but awesome game.
@YourNameHere Yeah, you're one of the few other people that I've heard couldn't get into Hades. I really, really tried, but also not my thing. Been playing the heck out of Axiom Verge 2. (hope that's written correctly)
Finished Axiom Verge 2 earlier, which is currently my favorite pixel art indie of the year so far (Forgotten City remains my favorite indie of all for the year right now). Played some Islanders and the Warioware demo, which are both fantastic. Had a round of Mario Golf with my three year old son, and that was… not fun. Tomorrow, I’ll be on Ace Attorney Chronicles perhaps, and since the wife wants to revisit Splatoon at some point, I’ll use that as my opportunity to revisit Tsushima. Busy gaming weekend while waiting for baby #2 to pop… hopefully on the weekend.
Ghost of Tsushima! I can't remember there being this many leaves floating about on ps4. What a stunner!
@tselliot with ya there. I've done all the Souls games etc. but anything involving fast reactions and combos, I'm done for 🤣
Been glued to my Switch lately. However I've just ordered Returnal for £45 (cheers Currys). Looking forward to starting that at some point soon!
@Ristar24 Me too, got mine pre-ordered. I can't wait to play some of the oldies like Stunt Racer, Cannon Fodder & Alien Breed! There are so many and I'm really happy you can add more games via a USB, should be a fun little device. This is one of the reasons I will be picking up a Steam Deck too if it runs really good emulation, I don't PC game so it is a way in for me!
R&C Rift Apart.
Fabulous game and although I have it via game share I think £70 is a lot for the length of the content, albeit high quality.
The sound, haptic and visuals are all absolutely top notch and it really bodes well for first party ps5 games with n general.
@mfleet I got the deluxe edition for twenty six quid and it's a decent game, still has an annoying bug or two, especially the challenges on Taras Nabard that you can't complete, so no trophy there.
The second ancient gods dlc has the worst final boss ever. I watched makas guides on it, tried it once and said never again. Not worth it. So beware if you fancy the dlc. That last boss man, so badly designed.
@Ristar24 Spotify has allister brimble Martin Galway remixes available, it's got the ocean loader!
Its mint!
https://open.spotify.com/album/6R3H6LSD3oknlcTXY7iDk1?si=bLH2mlmfS3eD1BxF2yZ_QA&utm_source=copy-link&dl_branch=1
@Dan_ozzzy189 Thanks for the Doom Eternal pro advice. That's going to prove useful later in the DLCs if it seems impossible. Or you've given me a challenge
@mfleet lol, it's not spoiling anything but just watch the fight on YT.
You get a tiny window in which you can attack and hurt the boss. If you miss time it he re-heals. He's got two energy bars and you have to drain them 6 times I think.
He also sets a dog on you that you can't kill.
At 25 I'd have struggled, at 50 I have more sense than to waste my time trying!
12 minutes and Cyberpunk
I've been playing Tennis World Tour 2, seeing as it was free. Just made #1 in the world in career, so I'll probably be bored of it soon.
Might play some of the Diablo 2 beta, but I was kinda bored by the original on PC back when it released. I guess there have been decades in which my tastes may have changed, and it has been longer since playing the original Diablo which I loved. (It felt like 2 lost the feeling of elegant simplicity)
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Trilogy!
@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L Honestly not sure how there is a lull right now, it has been one of the most stacked years for games. Might be a great time to expand the horizons with new variety!
Great Ace Attorney, Skyward Sword, A Plague Tale: Innocence, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, all of the Dragon Quest games, Doom Eternal DLC, the Iki Island expansion for Ghost of Tsushima, Resident Evil 7 & 8, It Takes Two, Ender Lilies, Death's Door, the list goes on and on.
Not even to mention the stuff that's still coming through the next few months. Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Tales of Arise, Metroid, Shin Megami Tensei V, Pokemon remakes, Advance Wars remakes, the Danganronpa collection.
Just finding it super hard to believe there isn't anything exciting to play.
Playing through Nier Automata again. I’ve gotten Ending E before but am starting again from scratch and will 100% it.
I’d been playing Nier Replicant v1.22 the past couple months, going for Ending E and its repetition has worn me out. I liked it at first but I kinda hate this game at the moment and it’s refreshing to play Automata instead.
Will take breaks from Automata with some WipEout Omega Collection.
@tselliot Hi there friend.
That sucks, but at least you were able to get it to work.
I think the "repeat" option came with the latest update and it´s a really good addition to the game, especialy for me, since I love the Duels in this game.
And yes, it is an AWESOME videogame. One of the best.
Cheers, stay safe and have a good one
@KingPev Hi there friend.
DMC games really pushes you to be at least good at them and on higher difficulties it can be literally "Hell".
But only if you want to challenge yourself.
Kinda like doing that ME1 Insanity run, same way I did 😉
It really made me apreciate the remastered version of ME1 even more. And how amazing the world building and storytelling is. Bioware set the Bar almost to High with it.
Now if only Soul Reaver and the Legacy of Kain saga had the same treatment and care.......
What I wouldn´t give for a proper remake and a following of the story........ Oh well 🤷♂️
Cheers, stay safe and have a good one
GoT ps5
Gears 5 operation 8 xbox one (will probs pick up a xbox one super series ultra mega hyper absorbant max plus xyxs-xxx gears infinite limited edition in a year or 2 when they launch 😂🎉😂)
@RaZieLDaNtE yeah I complete DMC games on Son Of Sparda mode, any higher than that I struggle lol.
Would love a full blown modern remake of Legacy Of Kain Soul Reaver. How awesome would that be ? Can it really be nearly 25 yrs since that PS1 game ? Jeez
@KingPev Hwy friend.
Man, that would be beyond awesome.
Legacy of Kain series have some of the very best character dialogue and voice acting in a videogame.
Just a small example.
Oh, Soul Reaver, in my opinion, still has, to this day, the most iconic, beautiful, amazing, cinematic intro of a videogame.
Cheers, stay safe and all the best
