PS Plus' games for September have been officially announced, and as it turns out, last week's leak was completely correct. Hopefully you didn't set your sights on anything different!
Without further ado, here's what subscribers get this month:
- Overcooked: All You Can Eat (PS5)
- Hitman 2 (PS4)
- Predator: Hunting Grounds (PS4)
Based on the reaction to the aforementioned leak, this selection will divide opinion. Overcooked, for example, is a great little party game — but it doesn't offer a whole lot to solo players. Predator is a similar deal — it's a title that's much more entertaining when you're playing alongside pals.
Fortunately, Hitman 2 is a real single player treat, so its inclusion might be enough to tip the scales for some of you. All three games will be made available to claim and download from the 7th September.
If you're looking for more information on these games, we dished up an 8/10 in our Overcooked: All You Can Eat PS5 review:
Overall, this is very much just more of the same, but Overcooked remains a delightful co-op experience. Extremely accessible, surprisingly challenging, and fun for all ages.
In our Hitman 2 PS4 review, we also served up a devilishly high 8/10 review score, praising IO Interactive's latest stealth action effort:
Each mission in Hitman 2 is a treasure trove of wonderful emergent gameplay, excellent satirical writing, and lashings of delicious, jet-black humour. The targets you'll hunt are almost universally rotters which thankfully takes care of any lingering moral quandaries you may have about their imminent demise.
Unfortunately, our Predator: Hunting Grounds PS4 review left a bit of a bitter taste, as we scored it just 4/10. It's worth noting that since this article was published, however, IllFonic has added quite a lot to the game, so your mileage may vary:
Predator: Hunting Grounds wouldn't look too out of place amongst the tacked-on multiplayer modes of the PS3 generation. It offers a handful of hours packed with enjoyment but quickly comes apart at the seams as you realise how lacking in content it really is. While playing as the Predator and a good amount of customisation may be its saving graces, this is an experience you can safely skip.
What do you think of these games for PS Plus September 2021? Give us an honest opinion in the comments section below.

Pfffffttttt.....
Not interested in any of them, all trash. This is pathetic Sony.
Would be very happy with Overcooked if they also gave us an extra Dualsense
I've only played the first Hitman so Hitman 2 makes up for the other two for me.
Looks OK to me
I already own Overcooked All you can eat, and have hitman 2 Gold edition on PC (so I'll claim it on PS Plus but I'm not likely to do much else with it). I don't think Predator: Hunting Grounds is likely to be my kind of game but I'm happy to just get down the backlog this month
Well I'll take Hitman 2 so it is worth the £3 for this month.
Nothing to moan about unless you moan for the sake of moaning
I’m happy with this selection. I’ll
Play a bit of predator with friends and definitely give hitman a go. Overcooked probably not as much but still nice to have
Glad its confirmed, looking forward to yelling at my kids for not bringing the soup over quickly enough lol, good month!!
Hitman 2 will definitely be downloaded.but i will play hitman goty edition first to see whats up.predator i might download that.not a bad month.word life.word is bond.word to your mother. Word to god.word up son
I'll certainly give Hitman 2 a go, since I quite enjoy the act of sniping fools from a distance and discreetly chloroforming my enemies. Don't judge me.
I'll also add Overcooked to my library for when I get a PS5.
Predator Hunting Grounds...
🤷♂️
2 out of 3 isn't bad, I guess.
Great games adding another good month to this year which has been excellent.
Others will cry and cancel their subs.
Guess I'll get Hitman. Does that work with importing levels to Hitman 3?
And Overcooked is nice for the odd day I'm doing mp with friends, though I really should get another 2 controllers for that.
Let's just say I'm glad I dusted off my Switch recently. I'll power up the PS5 when Tales of Arise is out on the 10th. To be fair, I think of Hitman as a good series but it's just an exercise in relentless anxiety for me personally.
1. Multiplayer game
2. Shutdown servers
3. Multiplayer game
Better luck next month.
This is a dope selection. I've almost bought Predator and this overcooked tons of times. Nothin but net for me this month
Meh month lol
Maybe this is asking for too much, but I think that Sony should give a selection of titles to choose from each month. Lately, I either already own the games being offered or have no interest, making the PS+ cost not worthwhile.
Overcooked is a fun game with the kids, although I always end up shouting at them for not getting the food to the customers on time! Hahahaha! I'll try Predators and Hitman.
See ya all next month then lol
Looks like I will be letting my PS+ subscription expire next week ...
I love the hitman series (even absolution 😂) but I already have the whole series. Predator was garbage when I played the beta and no interest in a cooking party game so nothing for me this month
Add to library.
Never play.
Again.
One thing to bear in mind is that this is an enthusiast-centric website. The vast majority of playstation gamers have enough in their backlog to keep them occupied. The vast majority also mostly use ps plus to play online. If you ask the majority of playstation gamers you meet on the street what they think about ps plus freebies or playstation exclusives, they won't really care. Websites like this do however give enthusiasts a unified voice which I appreciate. I personally only use ps plus to play online with exceptions like Control Ultimate.
Another month of mediocrity 😢
Well, do the wife and I dare start overcooked again? Not interested in stealth games and don’t play tedious online repetitive games.
Another crap month for me. Will add hitman 2 but not even going to tarnish my library with the other two.
Edit: I've just bought Hitman 3 in the sale to make it a better month so I'm quite looking forward to it now!
Well, its very clear that I won't be renewing my PS+ membership. I don't think that I would if it was $10 honestly.
Happy I held off on buying Hitman 3 as I have yet to play the 2nd. I'll enjoy that.
I played the Predator beta and was not impressed. It had quite a bit of polish that needed to occur. Perhaps they've fixed it up since I last played. For free... I'll definitely give it a shot again.
Overcooked is fun to a point but needs friends to play with to really be fun.
The incessant whining in these threads, seriously … Hitman 2 and Overcooked are both objectively great games, even if they're not for you, or you already own them (as I do).
But maybe it's time for Sony to offer a cheaper Plus membership with just the cloud service and multiplayer elements? Rather than adding more stuff people (proudly) won't like anyway?
Hitman 2 is fantastic but I played it 1,000 years ago. The other two I'm blates never gonna play. Overcooked looks fun but who am I going to play it with? My cat? No, they'll be rubbish at it. Then we'll fall out. It'll be a whole thing.
Predator can just get in the sea. Everything about Predator annoys me apart from Predator. The film Predator I mean. I probably should have been clearer about that. Predator the film is amazing. Everything else Predator related - EVER - is dreck and needs to be banished to the ocean depths.
@munkholt yeah, I don't get it. Both Hitman and Overcooked are great. Unfortunately, I've played both, but there is 0 to complain about here imo. Take it or leave it on Predator - its free so worth a shot
How is anyone moaning at getting Hitman 2 LOL the new trilogy is one of the finest gaming experience of the past few years, try it! Looking forward to jumping into Predator the demo was pretty good fun, wonder if anything you earned in that will be carried over
100% totally gutted, was about to buy overcooked 2 before the leak so hung on in the hope that it would be for PS4 too.
Poor decision from Sony
Nope stitched up, will add it to my library anyway, however i now have to go out and buy it or find a PS5 to buy.
Will buy a physical copy as it's cheaper even with Ovecooked 2 on sale.(i want all the DLC)
Will give HItman a bash, not played much of the first yet.
Zero interest in multiplayer predator.
EDIT: After some digging around, i found the Pushsquare referal link for amazon and used it.
A suggestion would be for games that are released on both consoles, that when you do the PS5 review you slap both referal links on the end of the review not just the one for the PS5.
@Xenomorph_79 Absolutely agree with you and don't blame you or anyone. I don't know what's going on with Sony but everything is just going downhill, it's getting worse and worse. Better to use that money and get Game Pass that by the way is actually worth it.
So glad I bought a Xbox Series X about 3 days ago.
I'll grab Overcooked in case I ever fancy a raging argument with my partner.
I'm just hyped for September's game releases. I see no game here that im would be interested in at all.
Another month of people either saying the games are terrible and Gamepass is better or people calling everyone whiners and entitled. It's like clockwork.
Meh. At least I got zone of enders hd for free on gwg.
Insane line up! It's crazy how Sony keep knocking it out of the ball park, fact!
I love hitman, but II came out years ago (it's gone on sale for faaar less than the cost of ps plus this month) and the worst of it is III came out like 8-9 months ago. Not regretting cancelling auto-renew at all. Well, back to gamepass I guess.
@Snake_V5 Cringe comment.
Hopefully the psnow list is better this month.
@JapaneseSonic Yeah, it's weird that they keep doing that like they're the same service lol.
Dunno if I’ll like it as I’m a bit sceptical but I’ll def try out hitman. Not into multiplayer games though so that’d be the only one
@WolfKingk87 It's not cringe at all. Why should anyone always settle for this mediocrity all the time? We all should demand and get better.
Pretty good month actually, if you count overcooked as two games, also hitman 2 is basically free dlc, if you own 3.
@Snake_V5 alright but what would you suggest they give out? really no pleasing some people.
@JayJayFalcon090 I know what you mean, no matter what games Sony pick there will always be people who don't like them. Maybe I'm just frustrated.
I wonder how the PS Plus games manage to consistently leak every month.
@JapaneseSonic Well that might be to do with the fact that Sony are always doing something wrong for a start. All I'm doing is calling it for what it is, I know some people don't like to hear that though. And yes I have made positive comments on here, for many games I can't wait for on PlayStation. I know I might rant and rave sometimes but that's only because I genuinely care, if I didn't rant and rave then I wouldn't care.
What are you doing? Lurking in the shadows and watching everything I respond too?
@JapaneseSonic Because sometimes what people call out is the reality.
I've got friends with PS5s who I can play Overcooked with, so no huge loss.....actually kinda intrigued by Predator, so why not. Actually not a car crash of a month like the past two.
@WolfKingk87 Nice to see some positivity about plus for a change.
I’m not sure there is anything there for me but I thought it looked a reasonable mix
@Snake_V5 Its 3 games i dont own and i like them so i see it as a win. What your is not reality its a opinion.
3 games I don't own. I'll take it!
@PhhhCough didn’t we get that a few years ago?
@Jayslow Exact same sentiments from me. I don't own them so I'll take them. Easy.
Bear in mind that now if you buy Hitman 3, through PS Plus you’ll have access to the Hitman and Hitman 2 levels as they’ve both now been given away. Brilliant for anyone new to the series.
@JapaneseSonic Yeah sure you do... Prove it.
@CynicalGamer That's for sure. Control, Dragon Quest 11, GTA 5, God of War to name a few in the backlog for me. If the ps+ games include something I'm interested in, awesome, if not, oh well
Another garbage month to go along with an absolute disappointing year for PlayStation and the PS5 launch. So at least on that note it's par for the course!
You know it's getting rough when a dedicated PlayStation website has so little to talk about that they resort to making articles about the startup noises for each PlayStation console LOL!
What a time to be a loyal PlayStation fan since the beginning. What game will they falsely repackage and rerelease as a director's cut and charge full price for next?
@Octane sure does, once it's in your library it let's you download the patch for hitman 2 levels into hitman 3. I don't even think you ever need to download hitman 2 for the import to work.
@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L It’s honestly worth just adding 2 to library and buying 1 and 3, then playing all three games within Hitman 3’s engine. Works so much better.
Still waiting to use a 12 month sub code but honestly I'll probably just give it to my son. This will pay him up to like 2024 or something at this point but it's whatever, at least he plays online.
PS+ just has so little value in my opinion. It's kinda sad really.
The like/dislike ratio on the PS Access video suggests most people are happy enough with this month. 🤷♂️
@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L I think you just need the license for 1 and 2 on your account. So you don’t need to download them, just the third one and it’ll recognise that you own the first two.
I 3 starred all OverCooked 1 levels on Switch, a lot of them I did do with a partner but some solo. It's not at all bad solo and unfortunately none of my friends seemed to like it when I played it with them so will probably solo the second game entirely this time.
The reality is Sony have to go big or go home.
Overcooked is a marmite game. If you like that style awesome, if you don't its monotonous and stressful with a less than elite memory.
As for Hitman 2, of course it's a great game. But when Hitman 3 is here it feels like a letdown.
Predator could be decent but the reviews are all bad so yeah. Not a great month for me. We badly need some big big games.
@ankehuber That’s PS+ pretty much every month. I think Marquette and Bugsnax are the only PS+ games I’ve ever finished and I’ve had Plus a looooooong time.
Well, PS Plus games stopped getting worse and worse to be somewhat good. I will definitely add Hitman 2 to the library and maybe even download to try it.
@BoldAndBrash I'm not a drama queen, people don't like to hear the truth. Sorry you're easily offended.
I haven’t been on my PS5 for a month, looks it’ll stay that way with this months offerings.
@R1spam Neat! Don't remember if I've claimed Hitman 1, but I don't think that game is too expensive if I ever want to play all the levels in 3.
Great balance to be fair. Best month in a while. Too much entitlement around.
Oh so now because I said Hitman 2 is trash, you have a problem with that? And gaming is not a hobby to me, sorry but I don't deal with casuals. Come back when you take it more seriously.
I'm not mad about this selection, honestly. It isn't great, but it's still way better than August.
All Overcooked content is on Switch (and I already own half of it, still stuck on The Peckening even in co-op efforts), Predator evokes more curiosity but only if single player IS possible (Warframe is explicitly geared towards multiplayer as well, but fully playable solo). And of course, both this one and Hitman 2, expected to put healthy emphasis on gunplay, leave the jury still out when it comes to control schemes. But that aside, they'll make pretty neat PS4 library additions.
@Gaming_Heretic_Aoife aye, we pay for it, and we're getting three objectively very good quality games included with it. Great month. =]
Good thing I have plenty of games to play 'cause I sure ain't touching any of that garbage.
Xbox won this month.
@Tasuki xbox has been winning every month
@Illy333 Xbox has been winning this generation up to yet, they haven't really put a foot wrong. PS5 just feels like a step backwards, Xbox feels like a true next generation console for some reason.
So Hitman 2, already obsolette game since u can play all of Hitman 1 and 2 on Hitman 3 with updated graphics, gameplay etc and I proudly say I own the entire trilogy. This in addition to another game I own, which is mediocre in standard and pretty barebones in content. It hooks players with the Predator license but it is just a glorified one monster vs 4 guys shtick, and I am level 90 in the game lol. I won't even mention the cooking game, so embarassing.
@JapaneseSonic PS5 has no next gen games, they lied about there belief in generations. Look at the exclusives on PS5, more or less every single one of them is coming to PS4.
@Robinsad haven't the faintest. I've been a ps+ user for all of 1.5yrs.
I'll give predator a go, already played and completed hitman 2 so I'm not interested in that, and I'll add overcooked to the library just in case I ever get a PS5, this selection of games is a lot better than last months.
I own nine PS4 games.
Hitman 2 (Gold Edition) is one of them. Just my luck lmao. Chuffed for everyone else because it is an amazing game, and if you declare it rubbish without trying it first then shame on you. Go in with an open mind and you will be amazed.
@JapaneseSonic The Series X boosts lots of games, look at there backwards compatibility compared to Sony. There is no denying the value of Xbox. I've never known a time in Sony history where they've been so bottom dollar chasing and corporate than ever. Charging people for features on the PS5 controller and 4K features on games, it's ridiculous. Being so none consumer friendly than ever. Who said anything about the consoles being used to there max? That doesn't unstable happen until a few years in.
I'm not questioning your knowledge of Series X Sonic but unless you own one, you wouldn't know. If you owned one you'd understand.
From January to today PS-Plus has already more then paid for my yearly subscription price. I have yet to see a single year that PS-Plus has failed to return more than it cost in games alone. I am talking from when it started on PS3!
Ovecooked scored an 84 on Metacritic, and Hitman 2 scored an 82, so not too shabby even if they're not your cup of tea. Oh, and Predator: HG ... really tried its best.
I'm looking forward to playing Overcooked with my kid before he heads back to school next week.
@JapaneseSonic The Series X is a more next generation console because of the features it has, quick resume being one of them. I never said that I prefer Series X more than PS5, it's just the way this generation feels so far between the two of them.
I'll always prefer PlayStation, been with them since the original one. This generation feels like Xbox has the edge. As for the Xbox exclusives, they'll come I'm sure. They didn't make that Bethesda purchase for nothing. Oh and there's starfield too.
Predator is the only one I'm not interested in. But 2 out of 3 is a decent month, can't complain..
@JapaneseSonic Yeah, I didn't mean to argue or anything. I'm sure when you get the Series X someday you'll enjoy it and hopefully see a few of my points. All the best to you 👍
Honestly though, how could anyone have their sights set on anything different? There's way too many games out there to count on any of them being released on PS Plus.
Not a bad month I find, though August has already set me up to be happy with whatever follows. Guess I'll eventually get hitman 3 and stuff all other hitmans I got with psplus into a game that will most likely be the only thing to fit on my ps5.
I've only had ps plus for 3 months and am still finding enough to keep me going on the PS plus collection. Think I've missed out on some good recent plus games (control) but oh well.
Will give hitman a go and will add overcooked to the library on the off chance I ever get another dualsense (and a friend......)
My second controller is currently being sent for repairs so I won't be able to play Overcooked in co-op but I will try it as soon as possible!
Was Hitman 2 the one with episodes or a complete game?
Don't own any, excited to try the new overcooked. Loved past ones. Unless you can just play as the predator, don't think I have much interest in hunting grounds. Which sucks because I'm a huge predator fan
@Milktastrophe Only predator hunting grounds is multiplayer only. Overcooked is designed for co-op and is best experienced that way, but is still fun by yourself. Hitman 2 doesn't have multiplayer. None of these 3 games have had their servers shut down and I don't think Hitman 2 even has any. Maybe for leaderboards?
@James_42 co-op is multiplayer. While for some games it's feasible for one person to play with two controllers at the same time, you definitely can't do that with Overcooked.
Hitman 2 had announced that it's online servers would be shut down in January 2021. It was for some sniper ghost mode, iirc.
@Gaming_Heretic_Aoife Yeah it's amazing. I couldn't believe it when I saw Final Fantasy 13 enhanced, it looks like a game of today's standards.
@JapaneseSonic Fair point if you’re looking at it from a product perspective, but from a consumer perspective, Gamepass and/or Ultimate is your MS monthly sub, and PS+ is your monthly Sony sub.
Microsoft doesn’t need to pay shills, we’re happy to do it for free. Not only is an amazing value for people who have a broad taste in games, the conversation around it are generally very positive. Check out a Pure XBox comment thread after even the weakest Gamepass release and compare to this fanboy mayonnaise that’s been sitting out in the sun of bad news week after week, month after month since the early Spring.
@Gaming_Heretic_Aoife man, I miss portal
@JapaneseSonic There’s a lot of people that are console gamers that don’t ever touch a PC. And Sony is letting their games go to PC too.
In any case, I’m quite happy with the “console exclusives” Xbox has gotten so far this gen. Two of them - Flight Simulator and Death’s Door - are at the top of my GoTY list so far. Forza Horizon 5 also looks incredible. And GamePass is awesome. There are a lot of things that Xbox gamers can be happy about. They’re eating just fine, thank you.
But you know, I am happy with my PS5 too with games like Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Unlike you, I’m not a fanboy of any one system. I’m a gamer. Period.
Rubbish. Why not offer indie games?
Overcooked is good with the kiddos, no thanks on Predator, and Yes Please! for Hitman 2. I’ll take this month all day!
it's always amazing how much people whine when Plus is $5 give or take if you actually pay full price. Not every game is going to be GOTY relax
Cue the entitled whining
Honestly, I just come here to read the comments LOL.
I never got to play the Hitman games so Hitman 2 will definitely be downloaded. I'm happy!
Can I still post in here lol
One thing I don't get it is, how on earth was this leaked weeks ago?
Surely there's a procedure to follow in regards to things being leaked?
Hitman 2 is a very good game but I already played it, speaking of 2's I still am waiting for knack 2 to be a plus game.
Yep, I already fell out with everyone I have ever known and everyone I will ever know over overcooked, and Hitman 2 have played to death, all sorts of deaths actually. But these are both great games. I don't have plus any more but I'm not sure what folks what from PS at the moment. These are good games.
@JapaneseSonic From my POV I don't really care about XBox per se, but you're right it is definitely a cult... we want to share with you brothers and sisters in the Good News!
I haven't had an XBox full-time since the original — still don't — because I really do not care for their output since those days of JSRF / SegaGT, Munch's Oddysey, Blue Dragon, etc.
For me it's about the simple fact that for my budget and tastes... listen, Sony was killing it earlier in the year with Control, FF7R, Greedfall, and the PlayAtHome 2 Bundle, and I got a lot of action over that period. But WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY? I've downloaded and play about 15 games over the last month and a half on Gamepass — really tucked in to about half of those — and I've spent $10 so far (Gamepass for PC). None of them (save Sunset Overdrive which wasn't a hit for me) are exclusive, I think they're all on PS4/5 and most on Switch too.
I know this site silos all it's users by platform, but for me it's really from a gamer perspective and this is the best play to play right now. When Sony announces it's PlaystationNowNext that blows Gamepass out of the water — or at least has parity in an ecosystem I'd rather be in all things being equal — I'll be in that cult and razz the meatheads in XBox with their Gears and Halo and the car game. For now, while Sony makes the Last Of Us Again (Again), Last Of Us the TV Show, Last Of Us multiplayer, and Last Of Us the breakfast cereal, I'll be playing games in the glorious green glow of the savior-of-the-moment... until Metroid Dread and Elden Ring comes out anyway.
Long time lurker, first time commenting here.
IMO anyone saying they're going to delete PS plus after a couple months of less than amazing games is overreacting. It's not really that expensive a subscription if you buy annually and I've always looked at it that way; in one calendar year you will get your money's worth in free games without a doubt unless you're super niche in what you play. I have around 10 games in my library from the last couple years I would've bought but got from plus, total value definitely more than paying the sub unless I bought hard copies 2nd hand, which I won't because of convenience.
Hold your nerve. Buy annually and save time, money and stress on the endless cycle of dropping your subscription and then signing up again when games you like come out in any given month
@TooBarFoo They are good games — at the very least quality games even if they're not your cup of tea.
The problem is best illustrated by the most extreme example: the PlayAtHome Bundle 2 has to rank as one of — if not the best free game bundle of all time. Problem is, I had had owned and played all but one of those games already. After a near-religious experience over 80 hours with Subnautica, now what?
What people want is Gamepass LITE. They want a new game — at least new-to-them to occupy some time. Doesn't have to set the world on fire, but occasionally can. Imagine if September PS+ was Hades and Psychonauts 2, cuz that's what's happening "over the fence".
There's some kind of FOMO going on as well as some kind of weird reflexive defense of PS+ — when it's good (Control, FF7R, VF5) , Sony is the best and winning the gemeration. When it's WWE Battlegrounds and Hitman 2, it's a free extra (tell my bank) and we're ungrateful, entitled Oliver Twists who are asking for more.
@Bubba_Cho_Tep If you get the good annual deals you're probably right, but keep in mind we're in a transition generation, and a lot of us don't have a PS5 now or in the near future. If it wasn't for Guilty Gear Strive, I'd be right pissed I'm paying for a PS4 sub right now I haven't used otherwise since I packed up Greedfall and found out VF5 netcode was total cheeks where I live.
I never like to tell people how to spend their money and what a value is to them, especially when all our bank accounts are leaking with these service subscriptions for nearly every piece of entertainment and lots of software some people need for work as well.
So you're totally right in a sense, but please have more sympathy for those in different financial circumstances. Sony was a really great place to be a hardcore gamer on a tight budget for most of this last generation, but it's rough times now and for the foreseeable future.
@Deadlyblack You're in for a treat, also replay the Hitman 1 levels in Hitman 2 first, as they have added the new systems so it'll help you get familiar with them before diving into the new content. (Should be free if you've already got a save on your system, but you may have to have it installed, can't remember)
As to the people asking if Hitman 2 is a full game: They all are. (Years included where there's another older title with the same name)
Hitman (2016) released as episodes, but seeing as it all released long ago, that's hardly an issue now, it's all available as soon as you boot the game for the first time. The GOTY includes some extra DLC but it's not part of the main story, and is its own thing (worth playing, but you're not missing out too much if you don't buy it)
Hitman 2 (2018) released as a set of (6? 8? can't remember off the top of my head) levels, with again some DLC that was added after the fact. This time the DLC is an epilogue to the main missions, and bridges some of the gap with Hitman 3. You won't notice if you don't have it, but there's lore there and some cool mastery unlocks that open up new playstyles, and it adds some background lore, but that's not why most people play these games.
Hitman 3 was also released as a full game, and has a PSVR mode on the PS4 version, which you can use to play all the old maps too. The DLC for this game doesn't relate to the story again, but it also doesn't include any new levels, a lot like Hitman (2016). I've personally given the DLC a miss.
To me Hitman 2 (2018) is the highlight of the trilogy, while Hitman 3 is a bit light on content, although most of what's there is just as good as ever. The latest entry has a few levels which mess with the formula in ways I'm not a huge fan of, but having blasted through the story earlier in the year I'm still booting the game now and then to play an elusive target or the recent escalation mission with the flower show.
Finally, it's worth stating that these are 3rd person real-time puzzle games, rather than a straight up shooter or stealth-em-up. You can play it as if it's one of those other genres, but you'll get a lot less out of it
Thats what im talkin' about.
one AAA game for the single-player diehards
one AAA game for the multiplayer cool kids
couldn't care less about that other indie garbage though.
1. Overcooked, my brother has it and so do a few friends so now I'll have another game to torture them with.
2. Predator: Hunting grounds, we bought my son this for his birthday and he complained that he didn't have ppl to play it with so now he will.
3. Hitman 2, a great solo game.
Overall a good month for me. And everyone who complained that their crap, go and play x box then. If u don't like the games ur getting, stop gurning and whinging on here and swith to xbox you'll not be missed.....
It's fun seeing people bitchin about games that they would usually just add to library and have it wait in their backlog, no matter the quality. Like Overcooked is an amazing game, and you're gonna call it bad? What the hell are you expecting, Ratchet and Clank? Not every month is for everyone and that's ok, but to see people cry about some amazing games just because they personally aren't intrested in them. Stop bashing games just because they don't fit your demographic or isn't your kind of this (cough cough, @nomither6). Even Predator Hunting Grounds, which isn't good, could appeal to someone who isn't you, and that's ok unless you want everyone to have the same exact opinion as you.
The comment section in articles like make me lose hope for Push Square. And it's not the people who operate the website's fault. They're doing their best. The problem ia the community surrounding them, who needs a real reality check.
@Spiders I have certainly been lucky getting a PS5 launch day and having the funds to get one, which you're correct has enabled access to more ps plus games, however I often have to tell myself I was investing in the future, to me PS5 doesn't have much going for it games wise and the exclusives launched through plus are not my thing. I'm pretty sure anyone else who's got one would agree, there's not been much come out you can't also get previous generation and when we're talking plus games that are PS5 only they've been pretty crap. I'm not including the collection obviously those were good games offered as bait to get people upgrading hardware.
And yet... They're all PS4 games. All the 'good' plus games I have are PS4 games. I paid £70 for AC Valhalla PS5 and was bored after 15 hours playtime. I pay £50 per year for plus and get enough games on balance to keep me occupied. £50 isn't even a deal it's just the standard annual subscription amount. That's £4.66 a month, the price of a sandwich and a coke. A month.
If you buy monthly it's £6.99, and I guess if you're clever you'll be subbing to pick up games you want and dropping the sub again, but that's a faff, and why would you then come on here to say you were dropping your sub again as you clearly intended to any way.
I genuinely believe that over a year you get your money's worth, and was only trying to point this out to anyone that might regret binning off plus when something gravy inevitably drops in the coming months. Provided you have a fairly eclectic taste of course, it's definitely no good if you only like a couple certain genres.
Reading the comments and some people amaze me, seriously be greatful your not getting what games of gold gets, hitman alone is better than all of this months games with gold so stop complaining
Man some People just complain over and over and over and over and over. Just play on your xbox then and be happy.
Mother of negativity!! Some people here should seriously do something about all that anger they have. It's not good for your soul.
@HotGoomba not just "bad", but "trash" apparently. There's very little hope for them.
I might try Overcooked: How to Trigger a Break Up. Hitman 2 will definitely go into the library as I’ve been eyeing it and heard universal praise about it. And Predator Hunting Grounds: The Forgotten Pariah of the Sony Exclusives, well all I can say is “welcome to the island of lost games.”
Yet another game that's available on the PS4 and yet the PS5 only version gets added to Plus. WTF Sony?
Hitman 2's servers are apparently shut down and Predator was utter garbage even before it was free so which game is the highlight for PS4 owners?
@HotGoomba @naruball @TommyNL What side of this argument is the "negative" one?
From my POV, it is toxic and really kind of nasty to call fellow gamers and commenters "entitled" who are disappointed in a service they are paying for, and that's about half these comments.
Rah-rah cheerleading or defending Sony here is not "positive" because you're not complaining, and going after people who do.
Some of us don't have the luxury to not be getting value for the money we spend for entertainment. Maybe everyone who calls people "entitled" should be forced to play these PS+ games. In fact... I promise for every ONE PERSON who commits to streaming these games to a satisfactory degree of completion each month, I will not comment or complain or shoutout XBox Gamepass in the PS+ article, and I implore my fellow "Oliver Twists*" to do the same.
"Child as he was, he was desperate with hunger, and reckless with misery. He rose from the table; and advancing to the master, basin and spoon in hand, said: somewhat alarmed at his own temerity:
'Please, sir, I want some more.'
The master was a fat, healthy man; but he turned very pale. He gazed in stupified astonishment on the small rebel for some seconds, and then clung for support to the copper. The assistants were paralysed with wonder; the boys with fear.
'What!' said the master at length, in a faint voice.
'Please, sir,' replied Oliver, 'I want some more.'
The master aimed a blow at Oliver's head with the ladle; pinioned him in his arm; and shrieked aloud for the beadle."
Really what a piece of ***** wtf is Sony thinking overcooked was on for free before all these games suck give us better bloody games
Second month ever I will not even bother redeeming the games… to be fair; the games are not as bad as last month, Hitman 2 is a decent addition, but I already own Hitman on basically every platform I own.
@Spiders My point isn't that you have to be happy with everything Sony throws at you. It's that you shouldn't hate on a whole month of games just because you don't like them, because someone else may be happy having it.
I also think that people who are hating on games for not being the games they want, and not on their quality or actual fun factor, are not painting themselves in the best light, especially when they're targeting small indie developers for making a game that doesn't target them.
Don't get me wrong, sometimes it's justified to dislike a PlayStation Plus month, but is it wrong for me to think that people are taking it way too far within the past few months?
Also, just because I don't think that hate is justified doesn't mean that I'm "defending Sony". There's a difference between opinions and fanboying.
Also, slow your roll, I'm not calling anyone entitled, I'm just pointing out that people are overreacting.
@HotGoomba I probably shouldn't have "@" ed you... I was trying to follow the "negativity" comments going up the thread and I might've missed the plot. I didn't mean my reply to be pointed AT you, but rather I wanted to invite you to this conversation about what the "negative" really is in these threads. I should have done that better, and hope @naruball and @TommyNL get to read this comment before they take the other one personally.
I think you're right as far as judging games, and honestly if that was the majority of the discussion in these comments, that would be the way to do it. That said, Hitman 2's servers are shut down for Frank's sake. That's really insulting to put it out on the service no matter how good the game was.
What you are saying is how I feel personally — I don't think I've ever said a thing about a PS+ game being bad or worth nobody's time, or even that there was a "bad month".
The bee in my bonnet is — and I hate to call it this but there's no other way to put it — the Sony Defense Force who comes out and polices the comment section for anyone who complains and calls them names, even blames society's ills on their mentality. The latest argument is that we should only be allowed to compare it with Games With Gold, which is completely disingenuous from a consumer perspective. I WISH we were just talking about the games on their own merits, but something else entirely is going on in here.
The comment section HAS been the past few months, pretty much after FF7R — even though I personally thought VF5 was huge deal even if it didn't pan out that way. I think the reason is really that during those months — which was during and since E3 — the story has really been about the contrast with Gamepass. It's a very hard comparison to get out of, and a very hard conversation to ignore. You're pitting WWE Battlegrounds, Hunters Arena Legends and Hitman 2 against Flight Simulator, Hades, Psychonauts 2 — truly bargain bin stuff no matter how you slice it versus three GOTY contenders. It's ROUGH to have you're money locked in a Sony sub when that's what's happening. We HAVE to talk about that. It should be indefensible, and the conversation should not be being dismissed the way it is on this and other forums. I think people should be complaining loudly until Sony restructures Now and Plus into something looking like parity with Gamepass, not this Crunchyroll premium BS they're trying to pull now.
@HotGoomba ''Stop bashing games just because they don't fit your demographic or isn't your kind of this''
way to make me seem like the bad guy for having an opinion - maybe you should stop getting triggered over peoples preferences ? i like rap music , but i don't become a karen over people who call it garbage . people have their preferences , i know thats a hard pill to swallow for hypersensitive people that can't tolerate what they'd consider ''negativity'' (i.e. opinions they don't agree with) .
and please don't tell me what to do neither . the world or in your case ''push-square'' would be better if people would just let others have their opinions . discussing about it is one thing , but berating me aint it.
im sure overcooked is a good game , but when i say ''garbage'' i mean it isn't for me , so id throw it away . one mans trash-
@naruball gonna take it that you're talking about me , i'm not angry in slightest ; my choosing of words and the lack of tone from reading what i say gives you the ambiguous option of depicting a way you think i am . i said im not interested in indie garbage , is that impossible to say with a neutral tone ? i have to be angry and have problems or be in a bad mood ?
im one of the chillest people you'd ever meet and i have a young vocabulary - call it ''immature'' if you want . but i don't like walking on eggshells with my speech because of what someone may think when i know my intentions are genuine and not technically bad. if you gave me overcooked as a free gift i'd play it once and then give it away to someone else. one mans trash-
@nomither6 Ok, maybe what I said was a bit much, my bad
@HotGoomba its all good . thanks for apologizing .
Pretty sure they gave hitman 2 away previously part of that stay at home thing, also why do we get 2 and not 3 Sony are 5aking the fking piss atm
I sadly already own Hitman 2 and have no interest in the other two games...so this will be a skip month for me.
Dreadful why are they giving old titles , Hitman 3 has been out since January ,so you get hitman 2 free , I agree with the comment about choosing our free games, after all were the ones that keep plus going . put up six titles and ps plus members can choose three they want then the other 3 are no longer available ..
I for one won't need any this month as I've done them all
@Spiders there are so many wrong things with your post, I wouldn't know where to start from.
@nomither6 calling indie games "garbage" is anything but neutral.
"Here's your paper, Timmy. It was garbage". Doesn't exactly sound neutral to me.
Hitman 2 is nice, but I no longer have plus. And no reason to get it again.
Here comes the "this month is trash" and the "I'm cancelling my plus" and the "game pass is better" comments from the usual moany *****...and why does everyone keep comparing psplus to game pass, they're two different things. Yes game pass is fantastic...but games with gold sucks.
@naruball '' Doesn't exactly sound neutral to me.'' well then , thats a ''you'' thing. i've already explained that what you thought wasn't true at all , but you're gonna believe what ''you'' want and make a big deal over an opinion .
so theres nothing else to say here.
edit: also way to use an analogy thats directed at another person , instead of someone's opinion about a product . i said a genre of video games is garbage to me - that , in no way , equates to being rude to someone .
@naruball Start at the beginning, then, when you get to the end, stop.
@1shayd It’s a common comparison because they’re both gaming subscription services that offer access to games. It doesn’t matter as much how the companies try to distinguish them. From my end, I compare all subs including gaming, video streaming, etc., just to sort out my entertainment budget. It’s a bang for buck operation from the user end, regardless of how these companies want to position themselves.
@Spiders That's a fair, well thought out comment, unlike a lot of comments you see on here. but in my opinion psplus and psnow is both cheaper and better value than gamepass ultimate, for now anyway. Not to take anything away from gamepass, it's a fantastic service too.
@1shayd Is it cheaper? I don't know why the PSNow library always falls flat for me when I peek at it, and I don't look too much more into it after that. I had a sub for a minute when I had a PSVITA and would stream PS2/PS3 games. If the value and library is there for people, I think more people should be talking about it!
I also only have Gamepass for PC which is a smaller library (with some PC exclusives), but only $9.99/mo and just kills it for me and my taste, plus getting new releases day one really staves of FOMO feelings and helps me keep spending under control.
@Spiders yeah, ps plus And psnow cost me 120 a year...gamepass ultimate is 12.99 a month, so about 156 euro a year. But like I said...both great services..but the psplus games just pips it for me. For now....
As both a ps5 and series x owner I have to say that microsoft has been much more consumer friendly this generation with the ability to carry over peripherals and free upgrades. I love ps5 it's amazing but from a consumer stand point Microsoft have edged it out so far

@Milktastrophe Overcooked can be played single player with one controller, where you press L1 to swap between to characters. I also don't see why online leaderboards being shut down for Hitman 2 would be a big deal at all
