Here’s the latest PlayStation 5 commercial: the City Where Play Has No Limits. That’s what Sony’s calling it, anyway – it’s not the catchiest of names. There’s, if we’re to put our Sixth Form English literature hat on for a second, a theme of breaking convention to this spot. We think it’s meant to show how there are no boundaries to play or something.
Heck, don’t take our word for it, here’s what marketing bigwig Eric Lempel had to say about it: “With a fantastical city as the backdrop, play is governed by rules and limitations – and we see what happens when one player defies conventions and stands triumphant, proving that play has no limits.” He signed the cheque on this, so we’re going to assume he knows what he’s talking about.

What a waste of 2 and a half minutes.
It kinda reminded me of the little intro videos they play in the Eurovision Song Contest before the act comes on stage. Just missing Graham Norton’s sarcastic commentary.
I also loved how they were really pushing for diversity and inclusivity in nearly every single trailer shown... but all the top Sony guys who featured in the showcase were all middle aged white men 🤣 we’re inclusive and diverse, honest 👀
I thought this was very cool! However..I kept thinking about the Wonder Woman 1984 trailer…I’m not sure if they saw it and were paying homage to it…or they never saw it….or….?

Uummm, do you really now what the word "avant-garde" means? Because I definitely can't see what's so avant-garde about delivering every pseudo-cool hipster-style trend element you could possibly compress into three minutes and leave no place for something that is genuine or real.
Feels like a meta-commentary on Xbox vs PlayStation to me
Bring Kevin Butler back. 😊
Maybe Sony sees themself like the guy who plays chess.
That was such a horrible start to the show. I just kept watching the clock waiting for it to end.
As a standalone commercial, it's horrible. As a segue into a showcase, it's cool.
It was cool and I like it. But nothing will ever top Cryptic Creepy baby doll crying from the PS3 era.
This was absolute cringe. No wonder they're charging more for the games if they're wasting money on this trash.
This trailer is bad, it's just taking more time for games trailer, the ps4 promo is way better (like "The Wonderful Life Of A PS4 Player").
This was complete dead air and a waste of time I don't like being a whiner but cheesy live action commercials just don't do it for me especially in a games showcase with limited time
Maybe it's just the music, but I really loved that lol. It's weird and makes no sense, but still really cool nonetheless.
Whoever made this had been watching the old Age of Empires 2 intro cinematic

Very odd way to start the showcase, also ate up too much time.
