GTA Trilogy PS5 PlayStation 4 1

Rockstar is removing the classic Grand Theft Auto games from the PS Store this week, and it looks like it may be expecting you to pod out for the recently announced round of remasters. According to UK retailer Base, compilation GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition could cost as much as £64.85 on the PlayStation 5 and £54.85 on the PS4.

Now, it’s worth stressing that this is very likely to be placeholder pricing from the store, and the label has yet to confirm anything official at the time of typing. Considering the company flogged the PS2 Classics for about £11.99 apiece on the PS Store, it’s going to need to introduce some significant enhancements if it intends to justify the abovementioned fees.

Rockstar’s said that it’ll announce more on these remasters soon, and with a release date pegged for 2021, we’re unlikely to be waiting long. VGC is already reporting that physical copies for the PS4 are targeting a 7th December release date, although it sounds like PS5 owners may have to wait until next year for a boxed version.
