Shin Megami Tensei V may only be releasing on Nintendo Switch, but at least the offshoot made by former Atlus staff will hit PlayStation 5 and PS4 just a few months afterwards. Monark from NIS America will launch on 25th February 2022, and the new trailer embedded above shares a slice of the action as well as introducing many of the characters.
There's very little else to be gleaned from the press release that we didn't already know other than a physical limited edition complete with an art book, soundtrack, cloth poster, and five acrylic stands. Pre-orders are live right now over on the NISA Europe store. The description accompanying the YouTube trailer simply reads: "Enemies abound between the real world and the Otherworld in MONARK! Who are your enigmatic opponents? What are their motives? And can you and your allies stand against them?"
This one is still very much shrouded in mystery, then; at least there are only a few months left before we can all play it for ourselves. Are you interested in Monark? Await your turn in the comments below.

I'm keeping an eye on this one. I don't think I'll get to it in February though since Horizon comes out that month. Maybe after I finish Horizon and if reviews are generally good I'll give it a shot.
It just kinda looked a bit rubbish in the first trailer. Like it’s alright for the remaster of Nocturne to look like a PS2 game because it is a PS2 game. This doesn’t have that excuse.
Doesn’t look that great to me. I’ll stick with SMTV on Switch. Would like to be proved wrong though. Speaking of Atlus, I’m still hoping they bring the HD PC port of Persona 4 Golden to consoles.
Looks like it will be a traditional JRPG. If the gameplay is sound then it will be fun.
Not too bothered about the graphics as they seem good enough for me.
Nocturne is a class above the so-called prettier games released so far this year - IMO - and gameplay is more important than graphics.
This looks anime as HELL... maybe a little too anime as hell. Haha!
@nessisonett Yep, looks like the Walmart generic version of Persona.
@B_Lindz persona /SMT games are all very anime , you literally play as a high school student in japan .
Oh boy... this says $10 Steam Sale all over it.
I would trade both SMT5 and this for a new Persona in a heartbeat.
Looks pretty bland. I played Digital Devil Saga back in the ps2 days and found it so boring personally. I was always much more of a Final Fantasy guy. Though I did enjoy what I played of Devil Summoner the Soulless Army, had decent rpg gameplay, monster summoning and an interesting and quirky cast. Also the environments weren't gray, boring nonsense like the other game.
Not much to see there other than terrible costume design.
Question: Do the Persona and Shin Megami tensei games all share a universe or is it a new thing each time like Final Fantasy?
@Starkei They all share the same basic premise but they are self-contained clean slates a la Final Fantasy, save SMTIV: Apocalypse or the Persona 2 games.
I think fans connect them together like Zelda, but it’s fan-fiction. (I think)
I'm sucker for anime. Characters look cool but i dont have a clue whats this game about. Its a visual novel or what? I may buy it when it gets under 10$
@Starkei The Persona games all share a universe, although only 1 and 2 are directly connected.
SMT I & II are directly connected, as are IV and its companion game, IV: Apocalypse.
Nocturne is set in its own universe, as far as we know.
With that said, they're all likely connected by the same broader multiverse. The SMT games are, for sure.
@Ralizah thanks for replying
