The newly announced Wanted: Dead is a very bloody action game from veteran director Hiroaki Matsui (Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden II, Dead or Alive 3, 4). It's in development at Tokyo-based studio Soleil, and it's targeting a 2022 release on PlayStation 5.
You can see some early build gameplay in the trailer above. It's packed with dismemberment and point-blank headshots. Imagine John Wick with a katana, and you're on the right track.
There's certainly promise here, but it'll obviously all come down to how well it plays. What do you think of Wanted: Dead? Please mind the body parts in the comments section below.

I saw “Wanted” and immediately thought of the movie with James McAvoy. One day Wanted will make its return. One day.
That’s some big 2004 energy.
@CrispyMango92 That was such a fun game!
@TwomanybuttonS gameplay wise or graphics? Coz that gameplay looked great.
Day one for me , next year will be wild
I like that it includes that it’s the same devs as the volleyball spin off of Dead or Alive as if that would entice literally anybody in the world to play this game over the ties to Ninja Gaiden or Dead or Alive instead.
You had me at "John Wick with a katana"
Looks terrible.
I have wanted a John Wick game using the Arkham/Shadow of Mordor series' rhythm fighting for a very long time. This looks like it could deliver some of what I've been looking for. Def keeping my eye on it.
Looks decent I guess even though if this has the same or similar level of difficulty to Ninja Gaiden I'm not sure if it's for me. I struggled with Ninja Gaiden and didn't enjoy it very much.
looks like a budget game. obviously won't live up to the hype. remember devil's third? didn't think so.
Reminds me of Wet on PS3 which was a blast to play and would rebuy if there was a remaster, as for this game it looks decent enough but I need to see more.
Looked ok. I’d need to see how it ties in with the “world” it’s in. If it’s linear then I’m only somewhat interested. Hopefully it’s heavily story based too
Now all I need is confirmation Tomonobu Itagaki is involved with the game!
Slightly interested but will need to see more gameplay first.
@wells_07 Yeah, terribly amazing!
I got excited for a moment but who's this guy? The director of ng and doa was tomonobu itagaki.
Gameplay looks fun however gfx..what is this ps3 era..ish😴
Project Eve, Bayonetta 3, now this. Some good stuff in the action genre to look forward to. Would be cool to see Ninja Gaiden return as well.
I like the sound of this..i dont really care if the graphics look a bit old school so long as it plays smoothly and is fluid..heres hoping to a good game..
Woa, that animation looks slick! Definitely interested
Well. They had me at Ninja Gaiden.
Animations look really good, hopefully the story and the rest are just as slick.
I'd have called it 'WantDead' for portmanteau that sounds neater to the ear....but I'm pretentious like that 😊
Love how the enemies stand around waiting for her to spend 6 seconds executing their buddy
I wish the gameplay is as good as ninja gaiden but the difficulty is not as hard, or at least there's a lot of save point in the game, especially before the boss 😃
@velio84 Yes! That's my first thought, lol.
@Icey664 Right? That immediately caught my attention. Looking forward to see more in the future.
Very hype. It looks pretty good for alpha footage. I just hope the final game will be a little faster paced
Edgelord: The Game.
Looks OK. Stranglehold, Dead to rights, Ninja gaiden love those type of games. Hope the graphics look better further down the line.
If it plays good ill get it but it does not look big budget it looks like it would work on a PS4 Pro.
Tbh that gameplay looked pretty janky and the game looks low budget. Taking a big leap and Judging a book from the cover now I would say it will be very average and get 6s and 7s because it lacks depth and polish.
lol these games are fun 🤣
I've always turned up the blood in some games that offered it . you have to have gore in action , scifi and horror games.
