Update: Ubisoft has teased the next batch of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla content, scheduled to debut from 9th November. A roadmap published to the series’ social media account confirms the free game activity, Tombs of the Fallen, will debut alongside a patch on 9th November. The time-limited event, Oskeiria Festival, will follow from 11th November, with a further title update due in December.
Original Story: Ubisoft has approached Assassin’s Creed Valhalla like a service game, and while that may send shivers down the spine of some readers, we’d argue it’s done a decent job. The game has consistently received meaningful updates, providing Animus addicts with new things to do, and we know that content will continue through 2022 as well.
Now, a new batch of Trophies titled Tombs of the Fallen has hinted that something is afoot for the Viking adventure. While resident expert Robert Ramsey isn’t around to quiz about the kind of additions this could include, we know that there’ll be at least three crypts to conquer. One theory is that they may be related to the Odin Runes already in the release – a set of secrets yet to be fully solved.
Presumably this will be a free add-on, although we’re obviously still waiting for confirmation from Ubisoft on that particular front. Are you willing to return to England? Set sail in the comments section below.

I still haven’t started it for this very reason. I just want them to say it’s done so I can actually play the completed game.
Well if its rumoured scottish islands that's not England obviously... finally come to Scotland hopefully best part of UK hell even add Wales then they have all of UK OBVIOUSLY was British Isles back then and realife vikings and Romans failed to take over Scotland or attack it just facts
@nessisonett i am 80 hours in and it feels like it will never be done. Its a great game, beautiful to look at in places, and i am glad for all the quality of life improvements i am getting by virtue of having left the game on the shelf for almost a year - but it just keeps going. I keep flip flopping between awarding it masterpiece status, but then telling myself that Ubisoft really need to learn some control and cut some of the padding.
What i do know is it is a great achievement and the post launch support has been rather impressive

@nessisonett Well be prepared to wait another year at least as they plan on making it last until the next AC game drops, at the very least we know we're getting a massive expansion next year and that's just in the first few months.
Honestly you might as well start now as unless you get insanely invested you would have burned yourself out by the time you will want to do all this other stuff. The main campaign alone can easily last over a 100 hours and unlike say Odyssey you feel it in Valhalla. I actually love Valhalla i have well over 200 hours into it and i don't plan on stopping any time soon but the only reason i never burned out is because i will take long breaks between story stuff and only check in daily for the daily missions.
@nessisonett Same plan here, though at this rate the game won't be complete until the next mainline AC game.

No one can describe me better than this. Maybe add stomach ache too?
“Time-limited” guarantees I won’t touch it. I’d be happy to pay for more permanent content. Really wish this trend would go away.
Someone please correct me if I’m totally wrong about this content being timed. I’m dumb.
Tombs plural? 😭 this game wont let me leave lol. 85 hours in with about 5 or 6 regions to go. I am already expecting it to be at least another 30 to 40 hours!
@Rob_230 easy! And with the DLC expansions you can probably double it
@Boucho11 Haha i'm not sure i can commit to the season pass. My backlog is looking terrifying as it is 😂
@Rob_230 that’s what happened to me. I got it as I’m Irish and wanted to play that dlc and only done half of it so far in 6 months ffs
@Boucho11 Lol. Jeeeezzz. Just imagine how long the next one will be with a name like Assassins Creed Infinite!
Wrath of the Druids does look cool so i will probs pick it up at some point. Nothing like playing a game in your homeland. I'm not far off reaching Gloucestershire in the base game, so excited to see how well Ubisoft translated it into the game 🙂
@Boucho11 You can double it in the main game if you really want to do everything. I've played it twice, once on PS5 and then a second time on the Series X (figured might as well get achievements for a second playthrough), and both times the playthroughs were at least 150 hours each. I haven't even touched the two major Season Pass DLCs yet, but I plan to at some point before the year is over.
My only issue with it seeming like it went "on and on" is that part of the story comes to an end, making you think you're done but then you realize you didn't complete the Order of Ancients and some of the extra side content like Thor's hammer, etc. Obviously I got over it in the end since I played through it twice for over 300 hours in total.
@Rob_230 i finished everything took me about 130 hrs so you're probably right ,people can say what they like about ubisoft but you can't say you don't get your moneys worth of content, I also think far cry 6 is fantastic ,the treasure hunts are great with some great puzzles and combat
@Falkirk4life Aye lad. Clear as mud. Something something hate England. Something something even Wales is better….
Have another sip of tenants super and hit us again….
I don't get why some people have a furious hatred for 'live service' games. If there's a game that you enjoy and it continues to get new content added for you to keep playing it then surely that's a good thing, right?
@nessisonett yeah. I want to play these games in one go and then move on. I have very little interest in coming back later. The positive side of this is that the game cheaper to buy if you wait
You can also have a chance to get a free PS5 until the end of November
@nessisonett Let's be real tho, do you actually have the time and interest to 100% a modern AC? Howlongtobeat puts this at over 130 hours!
@SwitchVogel Joke’s on you, I cleared every single point of interest in Odyssey earlier this year! You need to in Origins for the Platinum but I did it in Odyssey because I’m just clearly a masochist!
@nessisonett Outstanding move. I did get the plat in Origins, but I think that permanently burned me out on AC. I couldn't even get 30 hours into Odyssey and haven't picked up Valhalla. To me, the repetition eventually just kills the experience; if you've seen one enemy camp, you've seen them all.
@SwitchVogel Somehow having the goal of doing it all makes it tolerable. If each identical enemy camp is one step closer to the ultimate bragging rights then it’s fine. Plus I was completely clearing regions before advancing the story.
I tried to play these games several times across the years and absolutely hated them every time. The last two were meant to be departures from the usual structure with the open worlds and more RPG mechanics and they seemed different but I still wasn’t compelled to play for more than an hour…
Odyssey had nauseatingly long load times every time you talked to an NPC. I don’t know why this wasn’t talked about more. Totally unforgivable, especially when the dialogue was so rote and boring.
The other issue I have is the combat. It it better than the early games but it felt so floaty and imprecise. Compare it to something like Dark Souls and it’s total garbage.
