If you've been wondering what the heck the recently announced Dragon Ball: The Breakers actually is, you're in luck. Bandai Namco has released a very informative 11-minute trailer that explains the game in detail. The gist of it is that you either play as a lone 'raider' or as one of seven 'survivors' in this weird multiplayer title.
As a raider — assuming the role of a villain like Cell — your goal is to either destroy the survivors or ruin their escape plans. Meanwhile, survivors have to work together in order to activate time machines that'll allow for safe passage from the battlefield. They can also fight back against the raider with an assortment of weaponry, or even temporarily transform into heroes like Goku or Piccolo to deal big damage.
The Breakers looks rough around the edges, but it could be chaotic fun as long as it's properly balanced. Still, we never expected to be writing about a Dragon Ball title like this.
A closed beta test is also coming up in December, but it'll only be available through Steam.

Very strange decision making here. I guess it's good that they are trying something different though since the DBZ game formula desperately needs something new. But this is not it for me and is not even close
this isn't gonna last long or will be completely forgettable. it's like 5 years too late, maybe more.
maybe they could make a side scrolling beat em up game in Dragon Ball (not Z) world vs the Red Ribbon Army OR a Musou game where you don't play as Goku or Vegeta (say they're somewhere else or they're facing the big bad like Frieza or Cell somewhere else in the world) but you're more on the ground level facing hordes of Frieza's army and the bosses you face are members of the Ginyu Force or somethin'.
anywho - this game def isn't for me.
This looks interesting actually.
I mean it’s different. But dead by daylight has been out for how long at this point looks like a reskin so far, I don’t see many ppl still being hype to play that game. Not to mention dragon ball is in the title so the price might just end up being ridiculous.
@BoldAndBrash Yeah I would love to see a Dragon ball game with an actual budget, you would think Bandai would treat their beloved IP similarly to SE and Final Fantasy.
It'll be successful, because it's Dragon Ball. However, I think it'll die few months in as it doesn't have as broad of an appeal as Dead by Daylight does.
@BoldAndBrash Yeah that game was horrible. I agree with everything you are saying
@BoldAndBrash I would like something like maybe playing as future Gohan where you can change the future. Its new and something i never played i have seen DBZ so many many times im over it.
@strawhatcrew @Logonogo What we need is another attempt at a 3D open world Action RPG DB game, that isn't DBZ Kakarot.
