Sony has released the PlayStation Store charts for October, and the top games last month are about what you'd expect. On the North American chart for PS5, it's Ubisoft's Far Cry 6 that comes out on top, with FIFA 22 following close behind. In Europe, the two games are reversed, with the football sim unsurprisingly taking number one. In both regions, Back 4 Blood makes an impressive debut in third position.
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy stars in the top 10 of both territories too; it's fourth in Europe and sixth in the States. Over on the PS4 games chart, FIFA 22 tops both regions and Far Cry 6 is in second. However, Square Enix's superhero escapade is nowhere to be found on the last-gen platform's top sellers.
The PSVR chart is once again topped by Beat Saber and Job Simulator, while the free-to-play charts are, perhaps surprisingly, led by Konami's troubled soccer game, eFootball.
Check out the PlayStation Blog post if you want to see the full rundown of October's best-selling games in both regions. Which games did you pick up last month? Tell us in the comments section below.

Good for Far Cry. I'm still slowly but surely working my way through it but I've enjoyed most of what I've played so far!
Finally finished unfogging the entire map in Far Cry 6 today. Feel like there should be a reward or something 😫
@fR_eeBritney Bring back towers, Ubisoft!
FarCry 6 is tons of fun co-op. Plus you get a Dog - so happy when he came out of the container 😍. GOTG made me laugh a bunch of times, soundtrack is fantastic.
Both are Perfect games to play after a long work day. Glad they are selling well - always need more of these.
@ApostateMage I loved the towers! I was shocked when I found out everyone hated them. Bring them back I say. Beats flying up and down the map for hours in a flying car like I’m mowing a million square mile field of grass. I just couldn’t rest until it was clear 😆
@Agramonte Yeah, I’ve criticised FC6 quite a bit but it’s only because I care - they’re great games to get lost in for a few hours.
Nice to see FC6 has done well as its great fun and a great game to get lost in.
@lolwhatno No, that's what they keep wanting you to think 🙈
@fR_eeBritney Yeah I hear you. And there are things to criticize... no way is it perfect.
So much for all the reviews that claimed FarCry 6 was not exciting and just more of the same.
@ApostateMage I would actually love to see towers return. But the press hated them, and we know how valid the press opinions are about game design and direction.
