Kid A Mnesia: Exhibition. If the name doesn't ring a bell, it was that weird trailer from the PlayStation Showcase back in September. It's based on Radiohead and it's confirmed to be launching for PlayStation 5 on 18th November 2021. A new trailer has been released to accompany the release date announcement, and it is just as bizarre as the first time we sat it. Check it out above. At least it's a free download.
The YouTube description says the app will be "an upside-down digital/analogue universe created from original artwork and recordings to commemorate 21 years of Radiohead’s Kid A and Amnesiac". Maybe a Radiohead fan could explain more in the comments below.

I was really hoping for a cutesy 2D platformer, where I'd be jumping through ice and lava themed levels as Turbo Thom
Two of my favorite albums and a band I’ve spent more than half my life listening to. I’m really looking forward to this and glad to see Sony doing more of the artistic experience releases they dabbled in back in the PS3 era. Surely not everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s my preferred brew.
This would be a total trip on psvr
it's also free for PC on Epic Games store next week
Radiohead fan here... and errr nope I definitely can't explain more! Looking forward to taking a look however bizarre it is.
Probably my favourite two Radiohead albums so hey, I’ll bite.
Terrible band but I'll give this a go.
I remember with Kid A, I think they played the enitire album on the radio when it was released. I was a big fan in the late 90s and was a pretty different sound. First I've heard of this.
I for one am very pumped for this. Wish this was a more common medium for bands to use in interesting ways such as this. Not the same, but I loved when Tool did their own artwork animations etc in Guitar Hero/rockband way back when
Always feel the need to post that in certain cd copies of kid A there is a limited edition comic book hidden underneath the part of the case that holds the cd. Always surprised how many folks didnt know that and, while some copies dont, its always a treat watching peoples faces when they find one after years of owning it.
I see posters for this on the tube. Not sure if it's the ps5 thing or if it's what the app is based on
@Weebleman
I knew this but forgot so I just went and checked my copy and yep there it is.
@DiddyWahDiddy lovely stuff. Love the random little touches like this and with streaming taking over they will probably happen less and less.
@Weebleman
Mr. Lahey, you’re drunk again!
@WeirdAlUHF334 the liquors calling the shots now randy.
Massive Radiohead fan here, was a fan before it was cool. Saw them at the Astoria back in day in the Pablo Honey days. Then Few times in Bends era and Also after OK computer released. Great band especially live.Looking forward to the new CD bonus with the re release of these two albums and this “game” should be trippy and an a experience.
Will deffo check it out….
@Weebleman I just read your comment, jumped out of bed, found my copy of kid A, popped the C.D holder off and OMG theres a comic book there!!! This is exactly why I love Radiohead so much, thanks for the tip!
I'm glad a lot of the comments seem to be looking forward to this, the article seems to be pretty dismissive. I've loved Radiohead for years, and while I try not to be a bore over them i keep coming back and finding more reasons to love them. And their solo projects - Jonny Greenwood is probably my favourite soundtrack composer of the last 15 odd years. Looking forward to this, sounds like a cracking, left field playstation experience!
That 2 albums.... What a couple of marvelous masterpieces.
@EmperorJake hahahaha yes mate! This is exactly what i was hoping for! Glad i could help.
@Weebleman I remember breaking that out of the CD! Not thought of it for years. I also remember having 'Meeting People is Easy' and '7 Television Commercials' on VHS, bought them in Our Price.
@Ristar24 my god, our price. Thats something i havent thought about for years!
@Weebleman Yep, and Tower Records was still about back then, and HMV of course. I remember I had Pablo Honey on cassette, so thinking back I got into Radiohead quite early.
@Ristar24 same here. Spent many an hour listening to it on a walkman with no rewind button
Evwyting in its wite pwace
Vanilla Sky…. Open your eyes…. Tech support
@Gremio108 Who or what is a Turbo Thom?
@KidBoruto It's my name for the main character of my imaginary Radiohead platformer. I have numerous designs/blueprints if you would like to see them. I've sent them to the developers of this game, I'm fairly sure they'll be getting back to me shortly.
@Welsh_Will That soundtrack for There Will Be Blood was unbelievable
Was so random this was shown in a showcase. I'll definitely be giving it a go...but how the hell is this not in VR???
@Gremio108 Sure you share the designs here, I don't see an issue.
If you meant privately, check my profile for my Twitter handle.
@KidBoruto Nah, I'm only kidding around, but thanks for the interest anyway! I was just trying to think of the least Radiohead-y game I could, for comic effect.
For the record, my favourite Radiohead album is In Rainbows. I'm yet to find anyone who shares this view
@Gremio108 I prob have a fave song but don't know for sure, since I don't follow any bands lol.
