Yes, there’s a much better open world racer on the market right now, but for PlayStation players, sadly, The Crew 2 is the best it gets. And credit where credit is due: Ubisoft has continuously updated this game since its launch a couple of years ago, and fostered an impressively active community as a consequence. Seriously, boot this up and you’ll be surprised how many are playing today.
The release’s latest season, out now, is called The Contractor, and it focuses on delivery events all over the open world. As part of the release’s “movie” theme, you’ll be working for a fictional firm named Marco’s Cab Company – and yes, there’s a Ford Crown Victoria to drive, among others. It’s not just taxis, though: you’ll also be working for Diamond Limousine and The Rocket Company.
Unfortunately, as is always the case with The Crew 2, fan discussion is focused firmly on the game’s framerate. Despite fostering a huge community, and the release’s visuals holding up fairly well, developer Ivory Tower is yet to unlock the framerate for the PlayStation 5, meaning you’re still stuck at 30 frames-per-second if you play this game on next-gen hardware. A real shame.
A free weekend is planned between 18th November and 21st November, and your progress will transition across should you plump up for the full game. It might be worth a look if you have some spare time over the next few days.

If only they'd kept adding trophies to this I probably would never have deleted it after finishing it in a week.
Included in the Black Friday sale on the store as well if you were to end up enjoying it
Bought this when it released & only played it for a couple hours might jump back in I do love crazy taxi
Wait what...I thought the Crew 2 was already dead lol
I love that game! The open world is so cool, they give an awesome illusion that you're in the entire USA. They really need to do a Crew 3 in Europe
@BoldAndBrash I just looked up the week I finished it and it was four years ago. I can't remember last week
Is it that bad?
I tried the last free weekend. I was stunned at the amount of content, options, and things to do. But at 30fps and no HDR it just all looks so flat. Yes I am spoiled, but if they would only do 60fps and HDR this game could go for many more years. I do think Crew 3 will be our FH5, but that seems a ways off.
@frankmcma i don't think thats spoiled at all . you just have 2020 standards and thats A-Okay . the crew 2 always looked outdated even when it came out . it looked ''flat'' like you said , and the details were lacking , almost like as if they weren't finished with the graphics.
I tried to go back to it and seeing it run at 30 FPS on PS5 was painful for my eyes. Unless they update it, I will never be going back
