Activision's ever-popular first person shooter series might be wearisome with its annual releases, but never underestimate its popularity. Call of Duty: Vanguard debuts in the UK's boxed game chart at the very top, knocking FIFA 22 off its perch after multiple weeks as number one. The WWII shooter looks to be another successful entry, and Sony's ongoing marketing strategy with the brand continues to pay dividends. In Vanguard's first appearance on the chart, it's selling best on PlayStation 5, taking up 41 per cent of the share.
A little further down, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales has crawled back into the top 10 at number five. It seems to be Sony's most reliable release — whenever PS5 consoles hit the shelves, this is almost always the game that floats back up. Anyway, just below it is another superhero title, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy in sixth.
A new physical version of Fortnite called the Minty Legends Pack shakes things up, debuting in ninth, and Far Cry 6 finishes things off in 10th position. For those of you awestruck by Grand Theft Auto V's longevity in the UK's charts, you'll be interested to know it's currently 15th, which is as low as we've seen it for some time. With the GTA Trilogy remaster collection almost here, though, Rockstar's far from out of the race.
Here's the latest top 10 in full.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 6th November, 2021
- Call of Duty: Vanguard

- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales
- Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

Love to see Miles back. When it came out initial sales made me nervous, because I really wanted it to do well and bring Insomniac credit they deserve. I guess that has been laid to rest.
@Cikajovazmaj Game’s got some long legs (all 8 of ‘em)
Good to see miles Morales back in top 10, must be new stock of ps5. Having a good time with cod too, but Forza is out today too, and I got a nice surprise yesterday I had a new phone contract and I must have mis read it as I thought I was getting free switchable covers for the phone, box arrived yesterday and I was like that's big opened it up and it was a Nintendo switch lol, so I. Bought myself animal crossing to see what the fuss is about lol, so will be getting lost in that too. So at the moment I have loads of things to play, haven't had a Nintendo in years so will grab a few games for that, so if anyone has any recommendations would be great. Roll on Xmas break so I can get more time to play lol.
Great to see GOTG is still going strong.
Been having a blast with Vanguard, loved the campaign and multiplayer, for me at least a much better entry than Cold War.
People are actually supporting call of duty despite all terrible things happening in Activision Blizzard? Disgusting, absolutely disgusting.
@Milt Thing is, the millions who buy these games every year are mostly casual gamers who probably aren’t even aware of the Activision case. And then of course there’s the people who don’t care.
@Milt The majority of people buying CoD are people that aren't into gaming. Most people don't know about the Activision Blizzard stuff. I haven't seen it being talked about on the TV and the only time it's reported by the main news outlets is via online articles. Hell, a lot of gaming news sites don't report on it. I haven't seen an article here about it for a while. You're lucky to get a paragraph about it right at the end of a post. But even if people do know, the majority don't care. It's sad but true.
@Daleaf Breath of the Wild. An obvious recommendation but one of my favourite games of the last generation. The switch is one of my favourite consoles ever - just wish it was produced to a higher quality level. Screen easy to scratch when docking, controllers a bit unreliable and low power results in frame rate issues at times.
@Milt
Happy to say I didn't pick up Vanguard. I 100% agree but unfortunately I think most folks don't know about the Activision Blizzard fiasco as others have pointed out. I have been a CoD junkie for years, it's my gaming fast food when I want a quick fix and it's amazing at what it does. But like you I'm done with the franchise untill Activision can demonstrate that they're actually changing and give a damn. Untill that time I'll be blasting away in Battlefield 2042 or the next none CoD FPS.
Vanguard tops sales charts but but everybody hates call of duty and no one buys it. Another year yet another million for call of duty.
@StonyKL great thanks, yes that's definitely on my list of one's to play as well as Luigi mansion. Other than that not too sure. Oh the controller feels very cheap, feels like you could snap them easily lol. I will mostly be using it on TV so that's not a massive problem although will have the occasional outing when going on lond distance train journeys.
Why is Gta5 not in this list? Odd.
@Milt I'm not surprised at all. People simply don't care. But imagine giving money to such a vile, nasty and disgusting company that ruined so many lives. How are they even in business, god only knows.
I’m really liking Vanguard so far. You can definitely tell the team were passionate about the campaign but it definitely needs a patch. Nothing is broken, it just feels off.
I’m happy people are picking up Miles Morales again. It’s not perfect but it’s the best game to be play in the run up for Christmas
@Milt
What the lolwhatno and Voltan said is correct about Activision Blizzard, but I'll add onto that. There are plenty of fine people who worked on Call of Duty Vanguard. If the product that was made is worthy of your money, then buy or rent it to reward the creators. Not everyone at the company is guilty of misconduct.
So weird that another physical version of Fortnite broke the Top 10.
@Milt
Because Activision is not a Person. It is a company of 10,000 people that most have done nothing to be punished for.
“Let’s beat up everyone in the building” is Nothing more than mindless street Mob mentality.
@lolwhatno
Millions have left WOW... sponsors like TMobile have "boycotted" OverWatch and Blizzard (the 2 places where most offenders came from) there is California Department of Fair Employment and Housing investigation into HR and workplace... there is a Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating into ledearship. So that is already happening.
I do chuckle when I see people tweeting from their phones to condem another immoral company for bad practices.
Great to see Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy still up there. (Finished it, fun game) and Miles Morales right there also.
They can make a good Marvel game. MUA3 and Avengers are just bumps on the road.
Hope Shin Megami Tensei V does well. It will be only the 2nd game (Bravely 2 was the first - loved it) I am willing to pay full price for on Switch in 2021.
@lolwhatno
That SledgeHammer games have nothing to do with what is happening at Activision and most gamers/Gov are informed enough to target the actual part of Activision (and top brass) that were mentioned in the open letter (not just carpet bomb everyone) to try and make a change. It needs to make sense, or most will not join.
I was making mine... but if both align - that is great.
So many non caring PS5 DudeBros.
Oh wow. Those scalpers are buying all the games too.
I’m joking of course jajaja
